   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

   (2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Ground Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

D. Get Access
   (1) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

4. Procedure
Subtask 77-21-61-020-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) (T5/T3) Wiring Harness (WC05)
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
   (1) Removal of the protection covers:
CAUTION: REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
     (a) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine.
   (2) Find the harness (WC05) (1) attached to the top side of the engine connected to the EGT temperature sensors and the EGT probes.
   (3) Remove the harness (WC05) (1) from the engine as follows:
     (a) Disconnect the self-locking connector (P43) from the wiring harness (WC05) receptacle (J43) with the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT.
     (b) Remove the nuts and disconnect the harness (WC05) (1) from the T3 probe.
     (c) Remove the two clamps and the two bolts from the harness mounting bracket (WC05) (1).
     (d) Remove the nuts and disconnect the harness (WC05) (1) from the two left and two right EGT T5 probes on the Turbine Exhaust Case (TEC).
     (e) Start from the rear of the engine and carefully remove the harness (WC05) (1) from the 36 spring clips.
     (f) Remove the harness (WC05) (1) from the engine.
   (4) Installation of the protection covers:
CAUTION: INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
     (a) Make sure that you install COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
