Removal of the Fuel Manifold
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE AND THE ADJACENT COMPONENTS AFTER ENGINE SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE, THE ENGINE OIL AND THE ADJACENT COMPONENTS CAN STAY HOT FOR A LONG TIME. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, INJURY CAN OCCUR.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION:
DO NOT LET FUEL OR OIL FALL ON THE ENGINE. YOU MUST IMMEDIATELY REMOVE UNWANTED FUEL OR OIL WITH A CLOTH. THE FUEL OR OIL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO SOME ENGINE PARTS.

YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). D. Get Access
(1) Open the right thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

A. Removal of the Fuel Manifold
(2) Remove the Integrated Fuel Pump and Control (IFPC) (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-01-000-801).
(3) Remove the fuel filter differential pressure sensor (Ref. AMM TASK 73-34-21-000-801).
(4) Remove the fuel filter element (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-06-000-801).
(5) Remove the fuel filter housing (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-07-000-801).
(6) Remove the tube (FM01) (8) from the fuel manifold (1) and fuel flow transmitter as follows:
(a) Remove the three bolts (7) from the three clamps (6), bracket (12) and tube (FM01) (8).
(b) Remove the bolt (7) from the bracket (10).
(c) Remove the three bolts (9) and bracket (10).
(d) Disconnect the tube (8) from the fuel flow transmitter.
(e) Remove the tube (8) and face seal (11) from the engine.
(f) Discard the face seal (11).
(7) Remove the three bolts (3) and face seal (2) to disconnect the tube (FH01) from the fuel manifold (1).
(a) Discard the face seal (2).
(8) Remove the tube (23) from the fuel manifold (1) as follows:
(a) Remove the clamp (4) and heat shield (5) from the tube (CP09) (23).
(b) Disconnect the tube (CP09) (23) from the fuel manifold (1).

(9) Remove the manifolds from the fuel manifold (1) as follows:
(a) Remove the manifold (CR01) (22) from the fuel manifold (1) and tube (CR04) as follows:
1 Remove the two bolts (7) from the two clamps (33) and brackets.
2 Remove the two bolts (44) and bracket (43) from the manifold (22) and manifold (21).
3 Remove the clamp (4) and heat shield (5) from the tube (CR11).
4 Disconnect the tube (CR11) from the manifold (22).
5 Disconnect the tube (CR03) from the manifold (22).
6 Disconnect the manifold (22) from the fuel manifold (1).
7 Disconnect the manifold (22) from the tube (CR04) and remove the manifold (22) from the engine.
(b) Remove the manifold (CP01) (21) from the fuel manifold (1) and tube (CP04) as follows:
1 Remove the two bolts (7) from the two clamps (33) and brackets.
2 Remove the clamp (4) and heat shield (5) from the tube (CP11).
3 Disconnect the tube (CP11) from the manifold (21).
4 Disconnect the tube (CP03) from the manifold (21).
5 Remove the clamp (4) and heat shield (5) from the manifold (21).
6 Disconnect the manifold (21) from the fuel manifold (1).
7 Disconnect the manifold (21) from the tube (CP04) and remove the manifold (21) from the engine.

(10) Remove the manifolds from the fuel manifold (1) as follows:
(a) Remove the manifold (CR01) (22) from the fuel manifold (1) and tube (CR04) as follows:
1 Remove the two bolts (7) from the two clamps (33) and brackets.
2 Remove the two bolts (44) and bracket (43) from the manifold (22) and manifold (21).
3 Remove the clamp (4) and heat shield (5) from the tube (CR25).
4 Disconnect the tube (CR25) from the manifold (22).
5 Disconnect the tube (CR03) from the manifold (22).
6 Disconnect the manifold (22) from the manifold (1).
7 Disconnect the manifold (22) from the tube (CR04) and remove the manifold (22) from the engine.
(b) Remove the manifold (CP01) (21) from the fuel manifold (1) and tube (CP04) as follows:
1 Remove the two bolts (7) from the two clamps (33) and brackets.
2 Remove the clamp (4) and heat shield (5) from the tube (CP25).
3 Disconnect the tube (CP25) from the manifold (21).
4 Disconnect the tube (CP03) from the manifold (21).
5 Remove the clamp (4) and heat shield (5) from the manifold (21).
6 Disconnect the manifold (21) from the fuel manifold (1).
7 Disconnect the manifold (21) from the tube (CP04) and remove the manifold (21) from the engine.

(11) Disconnect the drain tube (DR41) from the adapter (52) and disconnect the tube (FD04) from the manifold (1).
(12) Remove the four bolts (54), bracket (53) and adapter (52) from the manifold (1).
(13) Remove the three bolts (3) and the face seal (2) to disconnect the tube (FH02).
(14) Discard the face seal (2).
(15) Remove the three bolts (3) and the face seal (2) to disconnect the tube (FL01).
(16) Discard the face seal (2).
(17) Remove the fuel manifold (1) from the main gearbox as follows:
(a) Remove the five nuts (64) and washers (65).
(b) Remove the fuel manifold (1) from the main gearbox.
(c) Use a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) to remove the remaining fuel.
(18) Remove the adapters (76), (77) and (79) from the fuel manifold (1).
(19) Remove and discard the packings (75), (78) and (80) from the adapters (76), (77) and (79).
(20) Remove and discard the packing (81) from the fuel manifold (1).
(21) Installation of protection covers
CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO HOLD THE MATING PARTS WHEN YOU LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE TUBE OR HOSE NUTS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS CAUTION, YOU CAN TWIST OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TUBES OR HOSES.
(1) Find the fuel manifold (1) located approximately at the 4 o'clock position attached to the main gearbox. (2) Remove the Integrated Fuel Pump and Control (IFPC) (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-01-000-801).
(3) Remove the fuel filter differential pressure sensor (Ref. AMM TASK 73-34-21-000-801).
(4) Remove the fuel filter element (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-06-000-801).
(5) Remove the fuel filter housing (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-07-000-801).
(6) Remove the tube (FM01) (8) from the fuel manifold (1) and fuel flow transmitter as follows:
(a) Remove the three bolts (7) from the three clamps (6), bracket (12) and tube (FM01) (8).
(b) Remove the bolt (7) from the bracket (10).
(c) Remove the three bolts (9) and bracket (10).
(d) Disconnect the tube (8) from the fuel flow transmitter.
(e) Remove the tube (8) and face seal (11) from the engine.
(f) Discard the face seal (11).
(7) Remove the three bolts (3) and face seal (2) to disconnect the tube (FH01) from the fuel manifold (1).
(a) Discard the face seal (2).
(8) Remove the tube (23) from the fuel manifold (1) as follows:
(a) Remove the clamp (4) and heat shield (5) from the tube (CP09) (23).
(b) Disconnect the tube (CP09) (23) from the fuel manifold (1).

(9) Remove the manifolds from the fuel manifold (1) as follows:
(a) Remove the manifold (CR01) (22) from the fuel manifold (1) and tube (CR04) as follows:
1 Remove the two bolts (7) from the two clamps (33) and brackets.
2 Remove the two bolts (44) and bracket (43) from the manifold (22) and manifold (21).
3 Remove the clamp (4) and heat shield (5) from the tube (CR11).
4 Disconnect the tube (CR11) from the manifold (22).
5 Disconnect the tube (CR03) from the manifold (22).
6 Disconnect the manifold (22) from the fuel manifold (1).
7 Disconnect the manifold (22) from the tube (CR04) and remove the manifold (22) from the engine.
(b) Remove the manifold (CP01) (21) from the fuel manifold (1) and tube (CP04) as follows:
1 Remove the two bolts (7) from the two clamps (33) and brackets.
2 Remove the clamp (4) and heat shield (5) from the tube (CP11).
3 Disconnect the tube (CP11) from the manifold (21).
4 Disconnect the tube (CP03) from the manifold (21).
5 Remove the clamp (4) and heat shield (5) from the manifold (21).
6 Disconnect the manifold (21) from the fuel manifold (1).
7 Disconnect the manifold (21) from the tube (CP04) and remove the manifold (21) from the engine.

(10) Remove the manifolds from the fuel manifold (1) as follows:
(a) Remove the manifold (CR01) (22) from the fuel manifold (1) and tube (CR04) as follows:
1 Remove the two bolts (7) from the two clamps (33) and brackets.
2 Remove the two bolts (44) and bracket (43) from the manifold (22) and manifold (21).
3 Remove the clamp (4) and heat shield (5) from the tube (CR25).
4 Disconnect the tube (CR25) from the manifold (22).
5 Disconnect the tube (CR03) from the manifold (22).
6 Disconnect the manifold (22) from the manifold (1).
7 Disconnect the manifold (22) from the tube (CR04) and remove the manifold (22) from the engine.
(b) Remove the manifold (CP01) (21) from the fuel manifold (1) and tube (CP04) as follows:
1 Remove the two bolts (7) from the two clamps (33) and brackets.
2 Remove the clamp (4) and heat shield (5) from the tube (CP25).
3 Disconnect the tube (CP25) from the manifold (21).
4 Disconnect the tube (CP03) from the manifold (21).
5 Remove the clamp (4) and heat shield (5) from the manifold (21).
6 Disconnect the manifold (21) from the fuel manifold (1).
7 Disconnect the manifold (21) from the tube (CP04) and remove the manifold (21) from the engine.

(11) Disconnect the drain tube (DR41) from the adapter (52) and disconnect the tube (FD04) from the manifold (1).
(12) Remove the four bolts (54), bracket (53) and adapter (52) from the manifold (1).
(13) Remove the three bolts (3) and the face seal (2) to disconnect the tube (FH02).
(14) Discard the face seal (2).
(15) Remove the three bolts (3) and the face seal (2) to disconnect the tube (FL01).
(16) Discard the face seal (2).
(17) Remove the fuel manifold (1) from the main gearbox as follows:
(a) Remove the five nuts (64) and washers (65).
(b) Remove the fuel manifold (1) from the main gearbox.
(c) Use a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) to remove the remaining fuel.
(18) Remove the adapters (76), (77) and (79) from the fuel manifold (1).
(19) Remove and discard the packings (75), (78) and (80) from the adapters (76), (77) and (79).
(20) Remove and discard the packing (81) from the fuel manifold (1).
(21) Installation of protection covers
CAUTION:
INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(a) Make sure that you install COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
