E. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance

YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). F. Get Access
(1) Open the right thrust-reverser cowl-door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

4. Procedure(1) Open the right thrust-reverser cowl-door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

A. Removal of the Fuel Filter Housing
(1) Make sure that you wipe clean all the parts and tools to remove contamination and to prevent damage to the engine.
(2) Find the fuel filter housing attached to the fuel manifold on the top of the Main Gearbox (MGB) at the 4 o'clock position.
(3) Put the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) under the fuel manifold.
(4) Remove the fuel filter element (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-06-000-801).
(5) Remove the fuel filter housing (5) from the fuel manifold as follows:
(a) Disengage the exciter cables and wiring harness (WC08) from the bracket (1).
(b) Remove the bottom three bolts (2) and spacers (3) from the housing (5).
(c) Remove the top three bolts (2) and the bracket (1) from the housing (5).
(d) Remove the housing (5) from the fuel manifold.
(e) Remove and discard the packing (4) and (6) from the housing (5).
(6) Installation of protection covers
(1) Make sure that you wipe clean all the parts and tools to remove contamination and to prevent damage to the engine.
(2) Find the fuel filter housing attached to the fuel manifold on the top of the Main Gearbox (MGB) at the 4 o'clock position.
(3) Put the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) under the fuel manifold.
(4) Remove the fuel filter element (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-06-000-801).
(5) Remove the fuel filter housing (5) from the fuel manifold as follows:
(a) Disengage the exciter cables and wiring harness (WC08) from the bracket (1).
(b) Remove the bottom three bolts (2) and spacers (3) from the housing (5).
(c) Remove the top three bolts (2) and the bracket (1) from the housing (5).
(d) Remove the housing (5) from the fuel manifold.
(e) Remove and discard the packing (4) and (6) from the housing (5).
(6) Installation of protection covers
CAUTION:
INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(a) Make sure that you install COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
