   (2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

   (1) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

4. Procedure

A. Removal of the Turbine Cooling Air System
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
   (1) Find the turbine cooling air system attached to the High Pressure Compressor (HPC), the diffuser and the High Pressure Turbine (HPT) cases. See the figures:

   (2) Remove the tube (AP06) (8) from the Low Pressure Turbine (LPT) boss and manifold (AP05) as follows: see the figure:

     (a) Remove the two bolts (10) and nuts (5).
     (b) Disconnect the tube (AP06) (8) from the manifold (AP05).
     (c) Remove the tube (AP06) (8).
     (d) Remove and discard the gasket (7).
   (3) Remove the tube (AP46) (2) from the manifold (AP07) and retainer as follows:
     (a) Remove the three bolts (1).
     (b) Remove the bolt (3) from the clamp (4).
     (c) Disconnect the tube (AP46) (2) from the manifold (AP07).
     (d) Remove the tube (AP46) (2).
     (e) Remove and discard the gasket (11).
   (4) Remove the tube (AP02) (23) from the LPT boss and manifold (AP07) (22) as follows: see the figures:

     (a) Remove the two bolts (55) and two nuts (5). See the figure:

     (b) Disconnect the tube (AP02) (23) from the manifold (AP07) (22). See the figure:

     (c) Remove the tube (AP02) (23). See the figure:

     (d) Remove and discard the gasket (54).
   (5) Remove the tube (AP44) (24) from the retainer and manifold (AP07) (22) as follows: see the figure:

     (a) Disconnect the tube (AP44) (24) from the manifold (AP07) (22).
     (b) Remove the three bolts (25).
     (c) Remove the tube (AP44) (24).
     (d) Remove and discard the gasket (11).
   (6) Remove the manifold (AP07) (22) from the HPT and HPC cases as follows: see the figures:

F Turbine Cooling Air System - Remove the Tube (AP13) and Manifold (AP07) ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
     (a) Remove the three bolts (1). See the figure:

     (b) Remove the three nuts (26).
     (c) Remove the three bolts (43). See the figure:
F Turbine Cooling Air System - Remove the Tube (AP13) and Manifold (AP07) ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
     (d) Remove the two bolts (3) from the two clamps (44).
     (e) Remove the manifold (AP07) (22) and gasket (42) and discard the gasket (42).
     (f) Remove and discard the gasket (28). See the figures:

   (7) Remove the fuel flow transmitter (Ref. AMM TASK 73-31-21-000-801).
   (8) Remove the tube (AP13) (40) from the HPT and diffuser cases as follows: see the figure:

     (a) Remove the three bolts (39).
     (b) Remove the four nuts (41) and tube (AP13) (40).
     (c) Remove and discard the gaskets (28) and (38).
   (9) Remove the tube (AP48) (62) from the retainer and manifold (AP47) (56) as follows: see the figure:
F Turbine Cooling Air System - Remove the Tubes (AP02), (AP49), (AP48) and (AP47) ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
     (a) Remove the bolt (3) from the clamp and tube (LP41).
     (b) Remove the three bolts (25) and bracket (60).
     (c) Disconnect the tube (AP48) (62) from the manifold (AP47) (56).
     (d) Remove the tube (AP48) (62).
     (e) Remove and discard the gasket (11).
   (10) Remove the manifold (AP47) (56) from the retainer and manifold (AP01) as follows:
     (a) Remove the bolts (3) from the clamp and bracket (57).
     (b) Remove the three bolts (59) and brackets (57) and (58).
     (c) Disconnect the manifold (AP47) (56) from the manifold (AP01).
     (d) Remove the manifold (AP47) (56).
     (e) Remove and discard the gasket (11).
   (11) Remove the tube (AP04) (99) from the LPT boss and tube (AP49) (61) as follows: see the figure:

     (a) Remove the two bolts (55) and nuts (5).
     (b) Disconnect the tube (AP04) (99) from the tube (AP49) (61).
     (c) Remove the tube (AP04) (99).
     (d) Remove and discard the gasket (7).
   (12) Remove the tube (AP49) (61) from the retainer and manifold (AP01) as follows: see the figures:

     (a) Remove the three bolts (25). See the figure:

     (b) Disconnect the tube (AP49) (61) from the manifold (AP01). See the figure:

     (d) Remove and discard the gasket (11).
   (13) Remove the Main Gearbox (MGB) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-61-01-000-801).
   (14) Remove the fuel manifold (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-02-000-801).
   (15) Remove the tube (AP12) (77) from the diffuser and HPT cases as follows: see the figure:

     (a) Remove the bolt (3) from the clamp and bracket (73).
     (b) Remove the four nuts (41).
     (c) Remove the three bolts (39) and bracket (73) and disconnect the grounding strap.
     (d) Remove the tube (AP12) (77).
     (e) Remove and discard the gaskets (28) and (72).
   (16) Remove the manifold (AP01) (74) from the HPC and HPT cases as follows:
     (a) Remove the three nuts (5).
     (b) Remove the three bolts (43).
     (c) Remove the two bolts (75) and the clamp (76) from the manifold (AP01) (74).
     (d) Remove the manifold (AP01) (74).
     (e) Remove and discard the gaskets (28) and (42).
   (17) Remove the tube (AP03) (87) from the HPC and HPT cases as follows: see the figure:

     (a) Remove the three nuts (5).
     (b) Remove the three bolts (43).
     (c) Remove the two bolts (75) from the two clamps (88).
     (d) Remove the tube (AP03) (87).
     (e) Remove and discard the two gaskets (28) and (42).
   (18) Remove the tube (AP11) (98) from the diffuser and HPT cases as follows: see the figure:

     (a) Remove the four nuts (26).
     (b) Remove the three bolts (39).
     (c) Remove the tube (AP11) (98).
     (d) Remove and discard the gaskets (28) and (72).
   (19) Remove the Air/Oil Heat Exchanger (AOHX) (Ref. AMM TASK 79-21-11-000-802).
   (20) Remove the tube (AP14) (109) from the diffuser and HPT cases as follows: see the figure:

     (a) Remove the four nuts (26).
     (b) Remove the three bolts (39).
     (c) Remove the tube (AP14) (109).
     (d) Remove and discard the gaskets (28) and (72).
   (21) Remove the tube (AP43) (110) from the retainer and manifold (AP05) as follows:
     (a) Remove the three bolts (1).
     (b) Disconnect the tube (AP43) (110) from the manifold (AP05).
     (c) Remove the tube (AP43) (110).
     (d) Remove and discard the gasket (11).
   (22) Remove the manifold (AP05) (120) from the HPC and HPT cases as follows: see the figure:
F Turbine Cooling Air System - Remove the Manifold (AP05) ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
     (a) Disengage the harness (WC05) from the spring clips.
     (b) Remove the three bolts (1).
     (c) Remove the three nuts (5).
     (d) Remove the three bolts (3) that attach the clamps to the bracket (122).
     (e) Remove the three bolts (43) and bracket (122).
     (f) Remove the two bolts (75) from the two clamps (44).
     (g) Remove the manifold (AP05) (120).
     (h) Remove and discard the gaskets (11), (28) and (121).
   (23) Installation of the protection covers
CAUTION: INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
     (a) Make sure that you install COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
