WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.

(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

4. Procedure

CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.

CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO HOLD THE MATING PARTS WHEN YOU LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE TUBE OR HOSE NUTS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS CAUTION, YOU CAN TWIST OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TUBES OR HOSES.

A. Removal of the Fuel Nozzle Supply Tubes
(1) Find and mark the notch located at the top (12 o'clock position) on the diffuser case with a P05-423Marker, Felt Tip, Rapid Drying.

Fuel Nozzle Locations ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(2) Remove the AC Generator - Integrated Drive Generator (IDG) (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-000-803).
(3) Remove the Buffer Air Heat Exchanger if necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 75-26-01-000-801).
(4) Remove the fuel tube (FS44) (3) from the No. 18 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS02) as follows:

Removal of the Fuel Nozzle Supply Tubes (FS31) and (FS44) ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(a) Loosen the B-nuts.
1 If necessary, use the PWA211624 to loosen the B−nuts.
(b) Remove the fuel tube (FS44) (3).
(c) Remove and discard the packings (1).
(5) Remove the fuel tube (FS31) (2) from the No. 18 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS02) as follows:
(a) Loosen the B-nuts.
(b) Remove the fuel tube (FS31) (2).
(c) Remove and discard the packings (1).
(6) Remove the fuel tube (FS44) (3) from the No. 1 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS02) as follows:

(a) Loosen the B-nuts.
(b) Remove the fuel tube (FS44) (3).
(c) Remove and discard the packings (1).
(7) Remove the fuel tube (FS31) (2) from the No. 1 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS02) as follows:
(a) Loosen the B-nuts.
(b) Remove the fuel tube (FS31) (2).
(c) Remove and discard the packings (1).
(8) Remove the fuel tube (FS44) (3) from the No. 2 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS02) as follows:
(a) Loosen the B-nuts.
(b) Remove the fuel tube (FS44) (3).
(c) Remove and discard the packings (1).
(9) Remove the fuel tube (FS31) (2) from the No. 2 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS02) as follows:
(a) Loosen the B-nuts.
(b) Remove the fuel tube (FS31) (2).
(c) Remove and discard the packings (1).
(10) Remove the fuel tube (FS46) (14) from the No. 3 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS02) as follows:

(b) Remove the fuel tube (FS46) (14).
(c) Remove and discard the packings (1).

(a) Loosen the B-nuts.
(b) Remove the fuel tube (FS47) (13).
(c) Remove and discard the packings (1).
(12) Remove the fuel tube (FS47) (13) from the No. 5 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS01) as follows:
(a) Loosen the B-nuts.
(b) Remove the fuel tube (FS47) (13).
(c) Remove and discard the packings (1).
(13) Remove the fuel tube (FS49) (25) from the No. 6 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS01) as follows:

(c) Remove and discard the packings (1).

(a) Loosen the B-nuts.
(b) Remove the fuel tube (FS33) (24).
(c) Remove and discard the packings (1).

(a) Remove the four bolts (47) and the four washers (46) from the heat shield (48) and the engine brackets.
(b) Remove the heat shield (48).
(22) Remove the fuel tube (FS54) (36) from the No. 10 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS01) as follows:

(a) Loosen the B-nuts.
(b) Remove the fuel tube (FS54) (36).
(c) Remove and discard the packings (1).
(23) Remove the fuel tube (FS37) (35) from the No. 10 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS01) as follows:
(a) Loosen the B-nuts.
(b) Remove the fuel tube (FS37) (35).
(c) Remove and discard the packings (1).
(24) Remove the fuel tube (FS55) (60) from the No. 11 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS01) as follows:

(a) Remove the bolt (62) and clamp (63) from the tube (60).
(b) Loosen the B-nuts.
(c) Remove the fuel tube (FS55) (60).

(a) Loosen the B-nuts.
(b) Remove the fuel tube (FS38) (61).

(a) Remove the bolt (62) and clamp (63) from the tube (59).
(b) Loosen the B-nuts.
(c) Remove the fuel tube (FS56) (59).
(d) Remove and discard the packings (1).
(27) Remove the fuel tube (FS57) (58) from the No. 13 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS02) as follows:
(a) Loosen the B-nuts.

(a) Loosen the B-nuts.
(b) Remove the fuel tube (FS44) (3).

(33) Remove the fuel tube (FS31) (2) from the No. 16 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS02) as follows:
(a) Loosen the B-nuts.
(b) Remove the fuel tube (FS31) (2).

(34) Remove the fuel tube (FS44) (3) from the No. 17 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS02) as follows:

(a) Loosen the B-nuts.
(b) Remove the fuel tube (FS44) (3).
(c) Remove and discard the packings (1).
(35) Remove the fuel tube (FS31) (2) from the No. 17 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS02) as follows:
(a) Loosen the B-nuts.
(b) Remove the fuel tube (FS31) (2).
(c) Remove and discard the packings (1).
(36) Installation of the protection covers:

CAUTION: INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.

(a) Make sure that you install COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
