B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(2) Depressurize the Green, Yellow and Blue hydraulic systems and put them in the maintenance configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to pressurize the hydraulic systems:
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(5) Drain the reservoirs of the Green, Yellow and Blue hydraulic systems:
4. ProcedureWARNING:
OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
(1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002). (2) Depressurize the Green, Yellow and Blue hydraulic systems and put them in the maintenance configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to pressurize the hydraulic systems:
- In the flight compartment near the hydraulic section 40VU of the overhead panel.
- On the ground service panels of the Green, Yellow and Blue hydraulic systems.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(5) Drain the reservoirs of the Green, Yellow and Blue hydraulic systems:
- For the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-680-001).
- For the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-680-002).
- For the Blue hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-680-003).
Subtask 29-14-00-320-050-A
A. Manufacturing of the Test Manifold
(1) If not available make a test manifold.
(2) Connect a flexible hose (2) with a length of approximately 1.0 m (3.28 ft.) to the test manifold (3).
(3) Connect a calibrated pressure gage (1) with a range to 10.0 bar (145.0377 psi) to the hose (2).
(4) Install a gas-charging valve (5) with a packing (4) in the test manifold (3).
Subtask 29-14-00-480-050-A (1) If not available make a test manifold.

B. Test Preparation
(2) Install a blanking cap on the open port at the reservoir pressurization unit (21).
(3) Put the open end of the air supply line (20) in a CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL).
(4) Fill the container with water so that the end of the air supply line (20) is under water.
Subtask 29-14-00-280-050-A CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT HYDRAULIC LINES ON UNIONS. IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SECOND WRENCH, THERE IS A RISK THAT YOU WILL LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE UNION TOO MUCH.
(1) Disconnect the air supply line (20) from the reservoir pressurization unit (21). (2) Install a blanking cap on the open port at the reservoir pressurization unit (21).
(3) Put the open end of the air supply line (20) in a CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL).
(4) Fill the container with water so that the end of the air supply line (20) is under water.
C. Test of the Air Relief Valve (1005GM), the Reservoir Pressure Check Valve (1388GM) and the Reservoir Pressure Gage (1383GM) of the Green Hydraulic Reservoir Pressurizing System
(2) Install a PLUG - BLANKING in the open line end fittings (12) and (13).
(3) Install an adapter hose (14) at the fitting (15).
(4) Install a CAP - BLANKING on the open port of the fitting (15).
(5) Put the open end of the adapter hose (14) in a container.
(6) Fill the container with water so that end of the adapter hose (14) is under water.
(7) Install the test manifold (3) to the drain valve (17) of the reservoir (16).
(10) Slowly increase the pressure until you read 4.8 bar (69.6181 psi) on the gage (1).
(11) Make sure that no air bubbles come out of the adapter hose (14) and the air supply line (20).
(a) If air bubbles come out of the line end of the air supply line (20) during this test:
(13) Monitor and record this pressure value. The pressure value must be between 5.1 bar (73.9692 psi) and 5.5 bar (79.7707 psi).
(a) If the pressure value is not in this range:
(a) If the pressure gage of the reservoir shows a different value:
(16) Monitor and record the pressure value when the air bubbles stop to come out of the line end of the adapter hose (14). The pressure value must be between 5.1 bar (73.9692 psi) and 5.3 bar (76.8700 psi).
(a) If the pressure value is not in this range:
(18) Depressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(19) Do the complete test procedure again two times to make sure that the system operates correct.
(20) Disconnect the 98D29003501000 FILL UNIT-AIR PRESSURIZING TOOL, HYDRAULIC RESERVOIR or 98D29003501003 FILL UNIT - AIR (10) or the alternative pressure supply from the gas-charging valve (5).
(21) Disconnect the test manifold (3) from the drain valve (17) of the reservoir (16).
(22) Remove the blanking cap from the fitting (15).
(23) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(24) Loosely install the line end fitting (12) on the fitting (15).

(26) Remove the adapter hose (14) from the fitting (15).
(27) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(28) Loosely install the line end fitting (13) on the fitting (15).
(29) TORQUE the line end fitting (13) to between 1.3 and 1.2 m.daN (115.04 and 106.19 lbf.in )

Subtask 29-14-00-280-051-A CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT HYDRAULIC LINES ON UNIONS. IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SECOND WRENCH, THERE IS A RISK THAT YOU WILL LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE UNION TOO MUCH.
(1) Disconnect the line end fittings (12) and (13) from the fitting (15) of the reservoir (16). (2) Install a PLUG - BLANKING in the open line end fittings (12) and (13).
(3) Install an adapter hose (14) at the fitting (15).
(4) Install a CAP - BLANKING on the open port of the fitting (15).
(5) Put the open end of the adapter hose (14) in a container.
(6) Fill the container with water so that end of the adapter hose (14) is under water.
(7) Install the test manifold (3) to the drain valve (17) of the reservoir (16).
NOTE: Make sure that the gage (1) of the test manifold (3) is correctly calibrated.
(8) Connect the 98D29003501000 FILL UNIT-AIR PRESSURIZING TOOL, HYDRAULIC RESERVOIR or 98D29003501003 FILL UNIT - AIR (10) to the gas-charging valve (5). NOTE: If the 98D29003501000 FILL UNIT-AIR PRESSURIZING TOOL, HYDRAULIC RESERVOIR and 98D29003501003 FILL UNIT - AIR is not available, you can use an alternative air supply. The supply must have a pressure of 7.0 bar (101.5264 psi) and it must have a filter. The rating of the filter must be 5 microns or better.
As alternative to the air source, you can use the nitrogen source with 97A29102035000 CONNECTOR-PRESSURIZING,HYDRAULIC TANK.
(9) Open the gas-charging valve (5). As alternative to the air source, you can use the nitrogen source with 97A29102035000 CONNECTOR-PRESSURIZING,HYDRAULIC TANK.
(10) Slowly increase the pressure until you read 4.8 bar (69.6181 psi) on the gage (1).
(11) Make sure that no air bubbles come out of the adapter hose (14) and the air supply line (20).
(a) If air bubbles come out of the line end of the air supply line (20) during this test:
- Replace the reservoir pressure check valve (1388GM) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-18-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-18-400-001).
(13) Monitor and record this pressure value. The pressure value must be between 5.1 bar (73.9692 psi) and 5.5 bar (79.7707 psi).
(a) If the pressure value is not in this range:
- Replace the air relief valve (1005GM) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-17-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-17-400-001).
(a) If the pressure gage of the reservoir shows a different value:
- Replace the reservoir pressure gage (1383GM) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-41-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-41-400-001).
(16) Monitor and record the pressure value when the air bubbles stop to come out of the line end of the adapter hose (14). The pressure value must be between 5.1 bar (73.9692 psi) and 5.3 bar (76.8700 psi).
(a) If the pressure value is not in this range:
- Replace the air relief valve (1005GM) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-17-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-17-400-001).
(18) Depressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(19) Do the complete test procedure again two times to make sure that the system operates correct.
(20) Disconnect the 98D29003501000 FILL UNIT-AIR PRESSURIZING TOOL, HYDRAULIC RESERVOIR or 98D29003501003 FILL UNIT - AIR (10) or the alternative pressure supply from the gas-charging valve (5).
(21) Disconnect the test manifold (3) from the drain valve (17) of the reservoir (16).
(22) Remove the blanking cap from the fitting (15).
(23) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(24) Loosely install the line end fitting (12) on the fitting (15).

(28) Loosely install the line end fitting (13) on the fitting (15).
(29) TORQUE the line end fitting (13) to between 1.3 and 1.2 m.daN (115.04 and 106.19 lbf.in )
. D. Test of the Air Relief Valve (2005GM), the Reservoir Pressure Check Valve (2388GM) and the Reservoir Pressure Gage (2383GM) of the Blue Hydraulic Reservoir Pressurizing System

(22) Remove the blanking cap from the fitting (15).

(7) Install the test manifold (3) to the drain valve (17) of the reservoir (16).
NOTE: Make sure that the gage (1) of the test manifold (3) is correctly calibrated.
(8) Connect the 98D29003501000 FILL UNIT-AIR PRESSURIZING TOOL, HYDRAULIC RESERVOIR or 98D29003501003 FILL UNIT - AIR (10) to the gas-charging valve (5). NOTE: If the 98D29003501000 FILL UNIT-AIR PRESSURIZING TOOL, HYDRAULIC RESERVOIR and 98D29003501003 FILL UNIT - AIR is not available, you can use an alternative air supply. The supply must have a pressure of 7.0 bar (101.5264 psi) and it must have a filter. The rating of the filter must be 5 microns or better.

(a) If the pressure value is not in this range:
- Replace the air relief valve (2005GM) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-17-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-17-400-001).
(a) If the pressure gage of the reservoir shows a different value:
- Replace the reservoir pressure gage (2383GM) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-12-41-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 29-12-41-400-001).
(16) Monitor and record the pressure value when the air bubbles stop to come out of the line end of the adapter hose (14). The pressure value must be between 5.1 bar (73.9692 psi) and 5.3 bar (76.8700 psi).
(a) If the pressure value is not in this range:
- Replace the air relief valve (2005GM) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-17-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-17-400-002).
(18) Depressurize the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(19) Do the complete test procedure again two times to make sure that the system operates correct.
(20) Disconnect the 98D29003501000 FILL UNIT-AIR PRESSURIZING TOOL, HYDRAULIC RESERVOIR or 98D29003501003 FILL UNIT - AIR (10) or the alternative pressure supply from the gas-charging valve (5).
(21) Disconnect the test manifold (3) from the drain valve (17) of the reservoir (16).
(22) Remove the blanking cap from the fitting (15).

(16) Monitor and record the pressure value when the air bubbles stop to come out of the line end of the adapter hose (14). The pressure value must be between 5.1 bar (73.9692 psi) and 5.3 bar (76.8700 psi).
(a) If the pressure value is not in this range:
(18) Depressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(19) Do the complete test procedure again two times to make sure that the system operates correct.
(20) Disconnect the 98D29003501000 FILL UNIT-AIR PRESSURIZING TOOL, HYDRAULIC RESERVOIR or 98D29003501003 FILL UNIT - AIR (10) or the alternative pressure supply from the gas-charging valve (5).
(21) Disconnect the test manifold (3) from the drain valve (17) of the reservoir (16).
(22) Remove the blanking cap from the fitting (15).
(23) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(24) Loosely install the line end fitting (12) on the fitting (15).

(26) Remove the adapter hose (14) from the fitting (15).
(27) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(28) Loosely install the line end fitting (13) on the fitting (15).
(29) TORQUE the line end fitting (13) to between 1.3 and 1.2 m.daN (115.04 and 106.19 lbf.in )

Subtask 29-14-00-080-050-A CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT HYDRAULIC LINES ON UNIONS. IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SECOND WRENCH, THERE IS A RISK THAT YOU WILL LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE UNION TOO MUCH.
(1) Disconnect the line end fittings (12) and (13) from the fitting (15) of the reservoir (16). (2) Install a PLUG - BLANKING in the open line end fittings (12) and (13).
(3) Install an adapter hose (14) at the fitting (15).
(4) Install a CAP - BLANKING on the open port of the fitting (15).
(5) Put the open end of the adapter hose (14) in a container.
(6) Fill the container with water so that end of the adapter hose (14) is under water.
(7) Install the test manifold (3) to the drain valve (17) of the reservoir (16).
NOTE: Make sure that the gage (1) of the test manifold (3) is correctly calibrated.
(8) Connect the 98D29003501000 FILL UNIT-AIR PRESSURIZING TOOL, HYDRAULIC RESERVOIR or 98D29003501003 FILL UNIT - AIR (10) to the gas-charging valve (5). NOTE: If the 98D29003501000 FILL UNIT-AIR PRESSURIZING TOOL, HYDRAULIC RESERVOIR and 98D29003501003 FILL UNIT - AIR is not available, you can use an alternative air supply. The supply must have a pressure of 7.0 bar (101.5264 psi) and it must have a filter. The rating of the filter must be 5 microns or better.
As alternative to the air source, you can use the nitrogen source with 97A29102035000 CONNECTOR-PRESSURIZING,HYDRAULIC TANK.
(9) Open the gas-charging valve (5). As alternative to the air source, you can use the nitrogen source with 97A29102035000 CONNECTOR-PRESSURIZING,HYDRAULIC TANK.
(10) Slowly increase the pressure until you read 4.8 bar (69.6181 psi) on the gage (1).
(11) Make sure that no air bubbles come out of the adapter hose (14) and the air supply line (20).
(a) If air bubbles come out of the line end of the air supply line (20) during this test:
- Replace the reservoir pressure check valve (3388GM) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-18-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-18-400-001).
(13) Monitor and record this pressure value. The pressure value must be between 5.1 bar (73.9692 psi) and 5.5 bar (79.7707 psi).
(a) If the pressure value is not in this range:
- Replace the air relief valve (3005GM) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-17-000-003) and (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-17-400-003).
(a) If the pressure gage of the reservoir shows a different value:
- Replace the reservoir pressure gage (3383GM) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-13-41-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 29-13-41-400-002).
(16) Monitor and record the pressure value when the air bubbles stop to come out of the line end of the adapter hose (14). The pressure value must be between 5.1 bar (73.9692 psi) and 5.3 bar (76.8700 psi).
(a) If the pressure value is not in this range:
- Replace the air relief valve (3005GM) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-17-000-003) and (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-17-400-003).
(18) Depressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(19) Do the complete test procedure again two times to make sure that the system operates correct.
(20) Disconnect the 98D29003501000 FILL UNIT-AIR PRESSURIZING TOOL, HYDRAULIC RESERVOIR or 98D29003501003 FILL UNIT - AIR (10) or the alternative pressure supply from the gas-charging valve (5).
(21) Disconnect the test manifold (3) from the drain valve (17) of the reservoir (16).
(22) Remove the blanking cap from the fitting (15).
(23) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(24) Loosely install the line end fitting (12) on the fitting (15).
CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT HYDRAULIC LINES ON UNIONS. IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SECOND WRENCH, THERE IS A RISK THAT YOU WILL LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE UNION TOO MUCH.
(25) TORQUE the line end fitting (12) to between 4.3 and 3.9 m.daN (31.71 and 28.76 lbf.ft )
. (26) Remove the adapter hose (14) from the fitting (15).
(27) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(28) Loosely install the line end fitting (13) on the fitting (15).
(29) TORQUE the line end fitting (13) to between 1.3 and 1.2 m.daN (115.04 and 106.19 lbf.in )
. F. Put the system back to the serviceable condition.
(2) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(3) Connect the air supply line (20) to the reservoir pressurization unit (21).
(4) TORQUE the air supply line (20) to between 1.7 and 1.5 m.daN (12.54 and 11.06 lbf.ft )

Subtask 29-14-00-280-053-A CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT HYDRAULIC LINES ON UNIONS. IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SECOND WRENCH, THERE IS A RISK THAT YOU WILL LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE UNION TOO MUCH.
(1) Remove the blanking cap from the reservoir pressurization unit (21). (2) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(3) Connect the air supply line (20) to the reservoir pressurization unit (21).
(4) TORQUE the air supply line (20) to between 1.7 and 1.5 m.daN (12.54 and 11.06 lbf.ft )
. G. Test of the Automatic Drain Valve of the Reservoir Pressurization Unit
(1) Make sure that the reservoirs of the Green, Blue and Yellow hydraulic systems are depressurized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(2) Start the APU (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86) or
(Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-008) or
(Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-005).
(3) Make sure that the bleed air supply from the APU is set to supply the reservoir pressurizing system (Ref. AMM TASK 36-12-00-710-001).
(4) Make sure that the automatic drain valve (22) of the reservoir pressurization unit (21) is closed (you can see the green indicator).
(5) Stop the operation of the APU (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86) or
(Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-006) or
(Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-009).
(6) Depressurize the reservoirs of the Green, Yellow and Blue hydraulic systems.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(7) Do the test procedure of the automatic drain valve again two times to make sure that the operation is correct.
5. Close-up(1) Make sure that the reservoirs of the Green, Blue and Yellow hydraulic systems are depressurized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(2) Start the APU (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86) or
(Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-008) or
(Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-005).
(3) Make sure that the bleed air supply from the APU is set to supply the reservoir pressurizing system (Ref. AMM TASK 36-12-00-710-001).
(4) Make sure that the automatic drain valve (22) of the reservoir pressurization unit (21) is closed (you can see the green indicator).
(5) Stop the operation of the APU (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86) or
(Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-006) or
(Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-009).
(6) Depressurize the reservoirs of the Green, Yellow and Blue hydraulic systems.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(7) Do the test procedure of the automatic drain valve again two times to make sure that the operation is correct.
Subtask 29-14-00-860-061-A
A. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
(1) Fill the reservoirs of the Green, Yellow and Blue hydraulic systems (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001), or (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-002).
(2) Remove the containers.
(3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(4) Close the access door 195BB.
(5) Remove the warning notices from:
Subtask 29-14-00-865-068-A (1) Fill the reservoirs of the Green, Yellow and Blue hydraulic systems (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001), or (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-002).
(2) Remove the containers.
(3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(4) Close the access door 195BB.
(5) Remove the warning notices from:
- The flight compartment
- The ground service panels of the Green, Yellow and Blue hydraulic systems.
