A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
WARNING: OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
   (1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
   (2) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
   (3) Make sure that the access doors 196AB and 196BB are open.
   (4) Make sure that the isolation coupling of the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) is disconnected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
   (5) Make sure that the CONTAINER - HYDRAULIC FLUID RESISTANT is below the connections of the reservoir.
   (6) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
  • in the cockpit on the hydraulic section 40VU of the overhead panel,
  • on the ground service panel of the Yellow hydraulic system.

4. Procedure
Subtask 29-13-41-560-051-B
A. Preparation of the Replacement Component
   (1) Remove the parts which are attached to the removed reservoir as follows:
     (a) Remove the reducer (17) and discard the O-ring (18).
     (b) Cut and remove the lockwire, remove the pressure gage (21) together with its adapter (20) and discard the O-ring (19).
     (c) Cut and remove the lockwire, remove the pressure relief valve (23) and discard the O-ring (22).
     (d) Cut and remove the lockwire, remove the pressure switch (32) and discard the O-ring (31).
     (e) Remove the adapter (35) and discard the O-ring (34).
     (f) Cut and remove the lockwire and remove the pressure gage (21) from the adapter (20).
     (g) Install a PLUG - BLANKING on all open ports of the reservoir.
   (2) Install the removed parts on the replacement reservoir as follows:
     (a) Directly before installation, lubricate all replaced O-rings with Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) .
     (b) Remove the blanking plugs from the ports on the top of the reservoir (1).
     (c) Put the new AIPC 29-13-03-04-180 O-RING (34) or AIPC 29-13-83-01-180 O-RING (34) in position and install the adapter (35).
     (d) TORQUE the adapter (35) to between 1.19 and 1.08 m.daN (105.31 and 95.58 lbf.in )
T.
     (e) Put the new
AIPC 29-13-03-04-180 O-RING (19) or AIPC 29-13-83-01-180 O-RING (19) in position and install the adapter (20).
     (f) TORQUE the adapter (20) to between 1.19 and 1.08 m.daN (105.31 and 95.58 lbf.in )
T.
     (g) Install the pressure gage (21) onto the adapter (20).
     (h) Hold the adapter (20) and TORQUE the pressure gage connector (21) to between 1.71 and 1.52 m.daN (12.61 and 11.21 lbf.ft )
T.
     (i) Safety the pressure gage connector (21) and the adapter (20) with lockwire, corrosion-resistant steel dia 0.8 mm (0.032 in.).
     (j) Put the new
AIPC 29-34-03-02-020 O-RING (31) or AIPC 29-34-83-02-040 O-RING (31) in position and install the pressure switch (32).
     (k) TORQUE the pressure switch (32) to between 1.71 and 1.52 m.daN (12.61 and 11.21 lbf.ft )
T.
     (l) Safety the pressure switch (32) with lockwire, corrosion-resistant steel dia 0.8 mm (0.032 in.).
     (m) Put the new
AIPC 29-14-03-11-020 O-RING (22) or AIPC 29-14-83-14-020 O-RING (22) in position and install the pressure relief valve (23).
     (n) TORQUE the pressure relief valve (23) to between 3.47 and 3.19 m.daN (25.59 and 23.53 lbf.ft )
T.
     (o) Safety the pressure relief valve (23) with lockwire, corrosion-resistant steel dia 0.8 mm (0.032 in.).
     (p) Put the new
AIPC 29-13-03-04-110 O-RING (18) or AIPC 29-13-83-01-150 O-RING (18) in position and install the reducer (17).
     (q) TORQUE the reducer (17) to between 1.54 and 1.42 m.daN (11.36 and 10.47 lbf.ft )

B. Installation of the Reservoir
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT HYDRAULIC LINES ON UNIONS. IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SECOND WRENCH, THERE IS A RISK THAT YOU WILL LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE UNION TOO MUCH.
CAUTION: YOU MUST INSTALL HYDRAULIC TUBES WITH HYDRAULIC FLUID AS LUBRICANT.
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Remove the blanking plugs from the reservoir (1) and the pipes.
   (4) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
   (5) Lubricate the threads on all connections with Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.
02ABA1) .
   (6) Put the reservoir (1) into position in its supports, connect the ends of the straps (3) and install the strap bolts (4).
   (7) Tighten the strap bolts (4).
   (8) TORQUE the strap bolts (4) to between 0.275 and 0.225 m.daN (24.34 and 19.91 lbf.in ) T.
   (9) Safety the strap bolts (4) with lockwire, corrosion-resistant steel dia 0.8 mm (0.032 in.).
   (10) Engage the end of the suction pipe (11) on the reservoir connection.
   (11) TORQUE the union nut (12) to between 10.7 and 9.7 m.daN (78.91 and 71.53 lbf.ft )
T.
   (12) Engage the outboard end of the return pipe (10) on the reservoir connection.
   (13) TORQUE the union nut (9) to between 10.7 and 9.7 m.daN (78.91 and 71.53 lbf.ft )
T.
   (14) Connect the outboard end of the suction pipe (5) on the reservoir connection but do not tighten the union nut (8).
   (15) Connect the inboard end of the suction pipe (5) to the structure attachment but do not tighten the union nut (6).
   (16) Hold the suction pipe in the correct position and install the two clamp block halves (46), the washers (45) and the bolts (44). Tighten the bolts (44).
   (17) TORQUE the union nuts (6), (8) at both ends of the suction pipe (5) to between 5.3 and 4.8 m.daN (39.09 and 35.40 lbf.ft )
T.
   (18) Connect the seal drain pipe (25) to the air pressure relief valve (23).
   (19) TORQUE the union nut (24) to between 8.3 and 7.5 m.daN (61.21 and 55.31 lbf.ft )
T.
   (20) Connect the air bleed pipe (15) to the reducer (17) but do not tighten the union nut (16).
   (21) Attach the P-clip (42) to the aircraft structure.
   (22) Install the bolt (40), the washer (41) and the distance bush (43) and tighten the bolt (40).
   (23) TORQUE the union nut (16) to between 1.7 and 1.5 m.daN (12.54 and 11.06 lbf.ft )
T.
   (24) Install the pipe (37) between the adaptor (35) and the adaptor (39) and connect it at both ends.
   (25) TORQUE the union nuts (36),(38) to between 1.7 and 1.5 m.daN (12.54 and 11.06 lbf.ft )
T.
   (26) Connect the bonding jumpers (27),(28) to the reservoir (1) (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (27) Install the bolt (26), the washer (29) and the nut (30). Tighten the nut (30).
   (28) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors and receptacles.
   (29) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
   (30) Release the electrical cables from their temporary attachments and connect the electrical connectors (2),(7),(33).

E. Test of the Reservoir
   (1) Do an operational test of the low level warning (Ref. AMM TASK 29-31-00-710-001).
   (2) Do an operational test of the low air pressure warning (Ref. AMM TASK 29-34-00-710-001).
   (3) Make sure that the level of fluid in the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system is correct. Add fluid as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-002).
NOTE: It is necessary to do the bleeding procedure given in the reservoir filling procedure.
   (4) Pressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
   (5) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001)
   (6) On the ECAM control panel on the center pedestal, push the HYD pushbutton. Make sure that the HYD page on the ECAM lower DU comes on.
   (7) Make sure that the two reservoir contents gages (one on the reservoir and one on the ground service panel of the Green hydraulic system) show the same contents and agree with the ECAM contents indication.
   (8) Examine the reservoir and the pipe connections and make sure that there are no leaks.
   (9) Apply leak detector Testing Medium-Leak Detection - Oxygen System (Material No.14CCB6) to the reservoir and air pipe connections and make sure that there are no leaks.
   (10) Make sure that the level of fluid in the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system is correct. Add fluid as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-002).
5. Close-up

A. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
   (1) Do the EIS stop procedure
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002)
   (2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
   (3) Connect the isolation coupling of the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-002).
   (4) Remove the container.
   (5) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).

B. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the access doors 196BB 196AB.
