A. Operational Test of the Reservoir Low Air Pressure Warning
WARNING: PROTECT YOUR HANDS AND FACE FROM THE GAS WHICH COMES OUT WHEN YOU OPEN THE MANUAL DEPRESSURIZATION VALVE OF THE RESERVOIRS. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE GAS IS HOT AND CONTAINS HYDRAULIC FLUID.
   (1) Observe the subsequent warnings:
NOTE: To find the air pressure in a reservoir refer to the air pressure gage on the relevant reservoir.
NOTE: The FAULT lights on panel 40VU do not come on if the appropriate pushbutton switches are in the OFF position (OFF light on).
   (2) Do this test:
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the ground service panel of the Green hydraulic system:

  • Set the reservoir depressurizing valve to OPEN.
  • The air is released from the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system.
When the pressure decreases to 22 +2 -2 psig, these warnings occur:
  • The single chime operates
On panel 40VU on the overhead panel:
  • The PTU/FAULT light comes on,
  • The ENG 1 PUMP/FAULT light comes on.
On panels 130VU and 131VU on the glareshield:
  • The MASTER CAUT lights come on.
On the lower ECAM display:
  • The message LO AIR PRESS comes on near the Green hydraulic system indication.
2.On the top of the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system, on pressure gauge 2383GM:
  • The pressure in the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system is 50 psig.
