A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the hydraulic system:
(3) Make sure that the Blue hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(4) Make sure that the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(5) Make sure that the access door 197FB is open.
(6) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position.
Subtask 29-14-17-865-054-A (1) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the hydraulic system:
- In the cockpit on the hydraulic section 40VU of the overhead panel,
- On the ground service panel of the Blue hydraulic system.
(3) Make sure that the Blue hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(4) Make sure that the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(5) Make sure that the access door 197FB is open.
(6) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position.

A. Installation of the Air Relief Valve
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Remove the blanking plugs.
(4) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(5) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the threads of the air relief valve (2) and to the AIPC 29-14-04-05-050 O-RING (3) or AIPC 29-14-84-08-020 O-RING (3).
(6) Position the O-ring (3) and install the air relief valve (2) on the reservoir manifold (4).
(7) TORQUE the air relief valve (2) to between 3.47 and 3.186 m.daN (25.59 and 23.50 lbf.ft )

(8) Safety the air relief valve (2) with lockwire 0.8 mm (0.032 in.).
(9) Connect the union nut (1) to the air relief valve (2).
(10) TORQUE the union nut (1) to between 8.3 and 7.5 m.daN (61.21 and 55.31 lbf.ft )

5. Close-upCAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT HYDRAULIC LINES ON UNIONS. IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SECOND WRENCH, THERE IS A RISK THAT YOU WILL LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE UNION TOO MUCH.
CAUTION:
YOU MUST INSTALL HYDRAULIC TUBES WITH HYDRAULIC FLUID AS LUBRICANT.
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Remove the blanking plugs.
(4) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(5) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the threads of the air relief valve (2) and to the AIPC 29-14-04-05-050 O-RING (3) or AIPC 29-14-84-08-020 O-RING (3).
(6) Position the O-ring (3) and install the air relief valve (2) on the reservoir manifold (4).
(7) TORQUE the air relief valve (2) to between 3.47 and 3.186 m.daN (25.59 and 23.50 lbf.ft )

A. Leak Test of the Air Relief Valve
(1) Pressurize the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
(2) Apply Testing Medium-Leak Detection - Oxygen System (Material No.14CCB6) to the connections of the air relief valve (2) and make sure that there are no leaks.
Subtask 29-14-17-410-051-A (1) Pressurize the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
(2) Apply Testing Medium-Leak Detection - Oxygen System (Material No.14CCB6) to the connections of the air relief valve (2) and make sure that there are no leaks.
B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the access door 197FB.

C. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
