A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
WARNING: OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
   (1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
   (2) Make sure that the Blue hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
   (3) Make sure that the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system is depressurized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (4) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position at the access door 197EB.
   (5) Make sure that the access doors 197EB and 197FB are open.
   (6) Make sure that the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is in position below the location of the Blue reservoir.
   (7) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Blue hydraulic system:
  • in the cockpit on the hydraulic section 40VU of the overhead panel,
  • on the ground service panel of the Blue hydraulic system.

4. Procedure
Subtask 29-12-41-560-050-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation of the Replacement Component
   (1) Remove the parts which are attached to the removed reservoir as follows:
     (a) Remove and discard the lockwire from the reducer (3).
     (b) Remove the reducer (3) and discard the O-ring (4).
     (c) Remove and discard the lockwire from the pressure switch (29).
     (d) Remove the pressure switch (29) and discard the O-ring (30).
     (e) Remove and discard the lockwire.
     (f) Remove the pressure gage (10) together with its reducer (9) and discard the O-ring (8).
     (g) Remove and discard the lockwire from the pressure relief valve (12).
     (h) Remove the pressure relief valve (12) and discard the O-ring (11).
     (i) Remove the lockwire from the pressure switch (22).
     (j) Remove the pressure switch (22) and discard the O-ring (23).
     (k) Remove the union (26) and discard the O-ring (27).
     (l) Remove the pressure gage (10) from the reducer (9).
     (m) Install blanking plugs on the open reservoir ports.
   (2) Install the removed parts on the replacement reservoir as follows:
     (a) Directly before installation, lubricate all replaced O-rings with Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) .
     (b) Remove the blanking plugs from the ports on the top of the reservoir (19).
     (c) Put the AIPC 29-12-04-12-200 O-RING (27) or AIPC 29-12-84-10-200 O-RING (27) in position and install the union (26).
     (d) TORQUE the union (26) to between 1.32 and 1.21 m.daN (116.81 and 107.08 lbf.in )
T.
     (e) Put the
AIPC 29-14-04-05-030 O-RING (8) or AIPC 29-14-84-08-050 O-RING (8) in position and install the reducer (9).
     (f) TORQUE the reducer (9) to between 1.19 and 1.08 m.daN (105.31 and 95.58 lbf.in )
T.
     (g) Install the pressure gage (10) on the reducer (9).
NOTE: Make sure that the pressure gage (10) can be clearly read when it is installed.
     (h) Hold the reducer (9) and TORQUE the pressure gage connector (10) to between 1.71 and 1.52 m.daN (12.61 and 11.21 lbf.ft )
T.
     (i) Safety the connector of the pressure gage (10) and the reducer (9) with lockwire, corrosion-resistant steel dia 0.8 mm (0.032 in.)
     (j) Put the
AIPC 29-34-04-01-070 O-RING (23) or AIPC 29-34-84-01-070 O-RING (23) in position and install the pressure switch (22).
     (k) TORQUE the pressure switch (22) to between 1.32 and 1.21 m.daN (116.81 and 107.08 lbf.in )
T.
     (l) Safety the pressure switch (22) with lockwire, corrosion-resistant steel dia 0.8 mm (0.032 in.).
     (m) Put the
AIPC 29-14-04-05-050 O-RING (11) or AIPC 29-14-84-08-020 O-RING (11) in position and install the pressure relief valve (12).
     (n) TORQUE the pressure relief valve (12) to between 3.58 and 3.47 m.daN (26.40 and 25.59 lbf.ft )
T.
     (o) Safety the pressure relief valve (12) with lockwire, corrosion-resistant steel dia 0.8 mm (0.032 in.).
     (p) Put the
AIPC 29-12-04-12-160 O-RING (4) or AIPC 29-12-84-10-180 O-RING (4) in position and install the reducer (3).
     (q) TORQUE the reducer (3) to between 1.32 and 1.21 m.daN (116.81 and 107.08 lbf.in )
T.
     (r) Put the
AIPC 29-34-04-01-070 O-RING (30) in position and install the pressure switch (29).
     (s) Tighten the pressure switch (29).
     (t) Safety the pressure switch (29) and the reducer (3) with lockwire, corrosion-resistant steel dia, 0.8 mm (0.032 in.).
Subtask 29-12-41-420-053-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Installation of the Reservoir
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT HYDRAULIC LINES ON UNIONS. IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SECOND WRENCH, THERE IS A RISK THAT YOU WILL LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE UNION TOO MUCH.
CAUTION: YOU MUST INSTALL HYDRAULIC TUBES WITH HYDRAULIC FLUID AS LUBRICANT.
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Examine the support structure of the reservoir for damage, cracks or corrosion.
   (4) Remove the blanking plugs from the reservoir (19) and pipes.
   (5) Lubricate the threads of the connections with Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.
02ABA1) .
   (6) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the bolts (51).
   (7) Put the reservoir (19) into position in its supports, connect the ends of the straps (50) and install the bolts (51).
   (8) Tighten the bolts (51).
   (9) TORQUE the bolts (51) to to between 0.275 and 0.225 m.daN (24.34 and 19.91 lbf.in ) T.
   (10) Safety the bolts (51) with lockwire, corrosion-resistant steel dia 0.8 mm (0.032 in.).
   (11) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
   (12) Connect the drain pipe (47) to the reservoir port.
   (13) TORQUE the pipe end-fitting (48) to between 2.0 and 1.8 m.daN (14.75 and 13.27 lbf.ft )
T.
   (14) Connect the return pipe (41) to the filter (2022GM) but do not tighten the pipe end-fitting (40).
   (15) Connect the return pipe (41) to the reservoir (19).
   (16) TORQUE the pipe end-fittings (40) and (42) at the two ends of the return pipe (41) to between 5.3 and 4.8 m.daN (39.09 and 35.40 lbf.ft )
T.
   (17) Connect the suction pipe (44) to the T-piece (46) but do not tighten the pipe end-fitting (45).
   (18) Connect the suction pipe (44) to the reservoir (19).
   (19) TORQUE the pipe end-fittings (43),(45) at the two ends of the suction pipe (44) to between 10.7 and 9.7 m.daN (78.91 and 71.53 lbf.ft )
T.
   (20) Connect the seal drain connector (14) to the pressure relief valve (12).
   (21) TORQUE the pipe end-fitting (13) to between 8.3 and 7.5 m.daN (61.21 and 55.31 lbf.ft )
T.
   (22) Connect the air bleed pipe (1) to the reducer (3).
   (23) TORQUE the pipe end-fitting (2) to between 1.3 and 1.2 m.daN (115.04 and 106.19 lbf.in )
T.
   (24) Connect the air pipe (24) to the reservoir port.
   (25) TORQUE the pipe end-fitting (25) to between 1.7 and 1.5 m.daN (12.54 and 11.06 lbf.ft )
T.
   (26) Connect the bonding jumpers (16),(17) to the reservoir (19) (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (27) Install the bolt (15), the washer (18) and the nut (20).
   (28) Tighten the nut (20).
   (29) Remove the protective caps from the electrical connectors and receptacles.
   (30) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
   (31) Connect the electrical connectors (52),(49),(21),(28).

C. Preparation of the Replacement Component
   (1) Remove the parts which are attached to the removed reservoir as follows:
     (a) Remove and discard the lockwire from the reducer (3).
     (b) Remove the reducer (3) and discard the O-ring (4).
     (c) Remove and discard the lockwire.
     (d) Remove the pressure gage (10) together with its reducer (9) and discard the O-ring (8).
     (e) Remove and discard the lockwire from the pressure relief valve (12).
     (f) Remove the pressure relief valve (12) and discard the O-ring (11).
     (g) Remove the lockwire from the pressure switch (22).
     (h) Remove the pressure switch (22) and discard the O-ring (23).
     (i) Remove the union (26) and discard the O-ring (27).
     (j) Remove the pressure gage (10) from the reducer (9).
     (k) Install blanking plugs on the open reservoir ports.
   (2) Install the removed parts on the replacement reservoir as follows:
     (a) Directly before installation, lubricate all replaced O-rings with Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) .
     (b) Remove the blanking plugs from the ports on the top of the reservoir (19).
     (c) Put the AIPC 29-12-04-12-200 O-RING (27) in position and install the union (26).
     (d) TORQUE the union (26) to between 1.19 and 1.08 m.daN (105.31 and 95.58 lbf.in )
T.
     (e) Put the
AIPC 29-14-04-05-030 O-RING (8) in position and install the reducer (9).
     (f) TORQUE the reducer (9) to between 1.19 and 1.08 m.daN (105.31 and 95.58 lbf.in )
T.
     (g) Install the pressure gage (10) on the reducer (9).
NOTE: Make sure that the pressure gage (10) can be clearly read when it is installed.
     (h) Hold the reducer (9) and TORQUE the pressure gage connector (10) to between 1.71 and 1.52 m.daN (12.61 and 11.21 lbf.ft )
T.
     (i) Safety the connector of the pressure gage (10) and the reducer (9) with lockwire, corrosion-resistant steel dia 0.8 mm (0.032 in.)
     (j) Put the
AIPC 29-34-04-01-070 O-RING (23) in position and install the pressure switch (22).
     (k) TORQUE the pressure switch (22) to between 1.71 and 1.52 m.daN (12.61 and 11.21 lbf.ft )
T.
     (l) Safety the pressure switch (22) with lockwire, corrosion-resistant steel dia 0.8 mm (0.032 in.).
     (m) Put the
AIPC 29-14-04-05-050 O-RING (11) in position and install the pressure relief valve (12).
     (n) TORQUE the pressure relief valve (12) to between 3.47 and 3.19 m.daN (25.59 and 23.53 lbf.ft )
T.
     (o) Safety the pressure relief valve (12) with lockwire, corrosion-resistant steel dia 0.8 mm (0.032 in.).
     (p) Put the
AIPC 29-12-04-12-160 O-RING (4) in position and install the reducer (3).
     (q) TORQUE the reducer (3) to between 1.54 and 1.42 m.daN (11.36 and 10.47 lbf.ft )

Subtask 29-12-41-420-053-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
D. Installation of the Reservoir
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT HYDRAULIC LINES ON UNIONS. IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SECOND WRENCH, THERE IS A RISK THAT YOU WILL LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE UNION TOO MUCH.
CAUTION: YOU MUST INSTALL HYDRAULIC TUBES WITH HYDRAULIC FLUID AS LUBRICANT.
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Examine the support structure of the reservoir for damage, cracks or corrosion.
   (4) Remove the blanking plugs from the reservoir (19) and pipes.
   (5) Lubricate the threads of the connections with Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.
02ABA1) .
   (6) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the bolts (51).
   (7) Put the reservoir (19) into position in its supports, connect the ends of the straps (50) and install the bolts (51).
   (8) Tighten the bolts (51).
   (9) TORQUE the bolts (51) to to between 0.275 and 0.225 m.daN (24.34 and 19.91 lbf.in ) T.
   (10) Safety the bolts (51) with lockwire, corrosion-resistant steel dia 0.8 mm (0.032 in.).
   (11) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
   (12) Connect the drain pipe (47) to the reservoir port.
   (13) TORQUE the pipe end-fitting (48) to between 3.2 and 2.9 m.daN (23.60 and 21.39 lbf.ft )
T.
   (14) Connect the return pipe (41) to the filter (2022GM) but do not tighten the pipe end-fitting (40).
   (15) Connect the return pipe (41) to the reservoir (19).
   (16) TORQUE the pipe end-fittings (40) and (42) at the two ends of the return pipe (41) to between 10.7 and 9.7 m.daN (78.91 and 71.53 lbf.ft )
T.
   (17) Connect the suction pipe (44) to the T-piece (46) but do not tighten the pipe end-fitting (45).
   (18) Connect the suction pipe (44) to the reservoir (19).
   (19) TORQUE the pipe end-fittings (43),(45) at the two ends of the suction pipe (44) to between 10.7 and 9.7 m.daN (78.91 and 71.53 lbf.ft )
T.
   (20) Connect the seal drain connector (14) to the pressure relief valve (12).
   (21) TORQUE the pipe end-fitting (13) to between 8.3 and 7.5 m.daN (61.21 and 55.31 lbf.ft )
T.
   (22) Connect the air bleed pipe (1) to the reducer (3).
   (23) TORQUE the pipe end-fitting (2) to between 1.7 and 1.5 m.daN (12.54 and 11.06 lbf.ft )
T.
   (24) Connect the air pipe (24) to the reservoir port.
   (25) TORQUE the pipe end-fitting (25) to between 1.7 and 1.5 m.daN (12.54 and 11.06 lbf.ft )
T.
   (26) Connect the bonding jumpers (16),(17) to the reservoir (19) (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (27) Install the bolt (15), the washer (18) and the nut (20).
   (28) Tighten the nut (20).
   (29) Remove the protective caps from the electrical connectors and receptacles.
   (30) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
   (31) Connect the electrical connectors (52),(49),(21).

E. Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

G. Test of the Reservoir
   (1) Do an operational test of the low level warning (Ref. AMM TASK 29-31-00-710-001).
   (2) Do an operational test of the low air pressure warning (Ref. AMM TASK 29-34-00-710-001).
   (3) Make sure that the fluid level in the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system is correct. Add fluid as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-002).
NOTE: It is necessary to do the bleeding procedure given in the reservoir filling procedure.
   (4) Pressurize the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
   (5) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (6) On the ECAM control panel of the center pedestal, push the HYD pushbutton. Make sure that the HYD page on the ECAM lower DU comes on.
   (7) Make sure that the two reservoir content gages (one on the reservoir and one on the ground service panel of the Green hydraulic system) show the same contents and agree with the ECAM contents indication.
   (8) Examine the reservoir and the pipe connections and make sure that there are no leaks.
   (9) Apply leak detector Testing Medium-Leak Detection - Oxygen System (Material No.14CCB6) to the reservoir and air pipe connections and make sure that there are no leaks.
5. Close-up
Subtask 29-12-41-860-054-A
A. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
   (1) Make sure that the fluid level on the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system is correct. Add fluid as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-002).
   (2) Do the EIS stop procedure
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
   (3) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
   (4) Remove the container.
   (5) Remove the warning notices from the cockpit and from the ground service panel of the Blue hydraulic system.
   (6) Remove the access platform.

B. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the access doors 197FB 197EB.
