3. Job Set-up
Subtask 49-00-00-860-090-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Do the EIS start procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (2) If the APU has supplied bleed air to other aircraft system(s):
  • do the preconditioning through the HP ground connection (Ref. AMM TASK 12-33-21-618-001).
  • on cockpit panel 30VU push the APU BLEED p/bsw to stop the APU bleed supply.
   (3) If the APU has supplied electrical power to the aircraft:
  • energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
  • on panel 35VU push the APU GEN p/bsw to stop the APU electrical power supply.
4. Procedure
Subtask 49-00-00-860-091-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
CAUTION: OBEY THE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS.
CAUTION: DO NOT SET THE BATTERIES TO OFF BEFORE THE AIR INTAKE FLAP IS FULLY CLOSED. IF YOU SET THE BATTERIES TO OFF, AN UNWANTED SHUTDOWN OF THE APU CAN OCCUR IF THERE IS:
  • POWER TRANSFER FROM THE APU GEN TO EXTERNAL POWER, OR
  • DISCONNECTION OF THE EXTERNAL POWER.
SUCH SHUTDOWN IS WITHOUT THE COOLDOWN CYCLE AND WITHOUT DE-OILING AND CAN CAUSE:
  • OIL FUMES AND/OR SMOKE IN THE CABIN
  • AN INCORRECT LOW OIL LEVEL INDICATION ON THE ECAM APU SYSTEM PAGE.
A. Shutdown of the APU
NOTE: Obey the safety precautions for the operation of the APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-910-003).
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the APU section on the panel 25VU:
  • push the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch to the off position.
On the APU section on the panel 25VU:
  • the ON legend in the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch goes off.

After the cooldown cycle is complete:
  • the APU shutdown sequence starts.

On the APU section on the panel 25VU:
  • the AVAIL legend in the APU START pushbutton switch goes off.

On the APU page on the lower ECAM DU:
  • the APU indications show that the APU is in the shutdown sequence and stops.
5. Close-up
Subtask 49-00-00-860-092-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Do the EIS stop procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002), if not longer necessary.
   (2) Make sure that the APU air intake-flap is closed.
   (3) Stop the HP pre-conditioning (Ref. AMM TASK 12-33-21-618-001), if not longer necessary.
   (4) De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001), if not longer necessary.
   (5) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (6) Close access door 811 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-410-002).
