Installation of the HP Manifold of the Blue Hydraulic System
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(2) Make sure that the Blue hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration.

(3) Make sure that the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system is depressurized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(4) Make sure that the access doors 195BB and 197EB are open.
(5) Make sure that the left main door of the main gear is open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(6) Make sure that a CONTAINER - HYDRAULIC FLUID RESISTANT is in position below the connections of the of the HP manifold and the ground leakage-measurement manifold (2146GM).
(7) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Blue hydraulic system:
Subtask 29-12-14-860-052-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
(1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002). (2) Make sure that the Blue hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(3) Make sure that the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system is depressurized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(4) Make sure that the access doors 195BB and 197EB are open.
(5) Make sure that the left main door of the main gear is open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(6) Make sure that a CONTAINER - HYDRAULIC FLUID RESISTANT is in position below the connections of the of the HP manifold and the ground leakage-measurement manifold (2146GM).
(7) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Blue hydraulic system:
- In the cockpit on the hydraulic section 40VU of the overhead panel
- On the ground service panel of the Blue hydraulic system.
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Blue hydraulic system:
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(4) Make sure that the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system is depressurized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(5) Make sure that the access doors 195BB and 197EB are open.
(6) Make sure that the left main door of the main gear is open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(7) Make sure that the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is in position below the HP manifold and the power accumulator (2070GM) of the Blue hydraulic system to collect unwanted hydraulic fluid.
(8) Make sure that the CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) is in position below the hydraulic connections of the Blue hydraulic system to collect unwanted hydraulic fluid.
Subtask 29-12-14-865-051-A WARNING:
OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
(1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002). (2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Blue hydraulic system:
- In the cockpit on the hydraulic section 40VU of the overhead panel
- On the ground service panel of the Blue hydraulic system.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(4) Make sure that the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system is depressurized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(5) Make sure that the access doors 195BB and 197EB are open.
(6) Make sure that the left main door of the main gear is open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(7) Make sure that the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is in position below the HP manifold and the power accumulator (2070GM) of the Blue hydraulic system to collect unwanted hydraulic fluid.
(8) Make sure that the CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) is in position below the hydraulic connections of the Blue hydraulic system to collect unwanted hydraulic fluid.

A. Preparation of the Replacement Component
(1) Remove the parts which are attached to the removed HP manifold as follows:
1 Hold the HP filter 2048GM and remove the bolts (35), (36) and the washers (37).
2 Remove the HP filter 2048GM from the manifold (26).
(b) Remove the relief valve 2063GM (Ref. AMM TASK 29-12-32-000-001).
(c) Remove the priority valve 2064GM (Ref. AMM TASK 29-12-33-000-001).
(d) Remove the hydraulic pressure transducer 2065GN (Ref. AMM TASK 29-32-11-000-002).
(e) Remove the system pressure switch 2151GN (Ref. AMM TASK 29-32-12-000-002).
(f) Remove the flight-control pressure switch 10CE1 (Ref. AMM TASK 27-92-17-000-003).
(g) Remove the fluid sampling valve 2187GM (Ref. AMM TASK 29-12-34-000-001).
(h) Remove the check valve 2022GM as follows:
1 Loosen the check valve 2022GM and remove it at the same time with the O-ring (58).
2 Remove and discard the O-ring (58).
(i) Remove the bobbins (12), (30) and (39) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-21-911-001).
(k) Install the PLUG - BLANKING on the open ports of the manifold (26).
(l) Remove and discard these items from the bobbins:
1 The square-section seals (13), (31) and (40)
2 The O-rings (87), (94) and (97)
3 The back-up rings (85), (86), (95), (96), (98) and (38).
(m) Put the bobbins into the BAG - PLASTIC to keep them clean.
(2) Install the removed parts on the replacement manifold (26) as follows:
(a) If the replacement manifold (26) was not installed before. then you must install the cylindrical pin (14).
(b) Remove the blanking plugs from the manifold (26) and the components.
(c) Apply the Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the new O-rings and the threads of the unions.
(d) Install the check valve 2022GM as follows:
1 Put the new AIPC 29-12-14-02-220 O-RING (58) in position on the check valve 2022GM.
2 Install the check valve 2022GM in port G of the manifold (26).
a TORQUE the check valve 2022GM to between 8.3 and 7.5 m.daN (61.21 and 55.31 lbf.ft )

(e) Install the fluid sampling valve 2187GM (Ref. AMM TASK 29-12-34-400-001).
(f) Install the system pressure switch 2151GN (Ref. AMM TASK 29-32-12-400-002).
(g) Install the flight-control pressure switch 10CE1 (Ref. AMM TASK 27-92-17-400-003).
(h) Install the hydraulic pressure transducer 2065GN (Ref. AMM TASK 29-32-11-400-002).
(i) Apply the Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the new square-section seals, back-up rings and the O-rings.
(j) Put the new AIPC 29-12-14-02-080 BACK-UP RINGS (85) in position on the sides of the bobbins (12) without the identification grooves (equipment side).
(k) Put the new AIPC 29-12-14-02-090 SQUARE-SECTION SEALS (13) in position on the sides of the bobbins (12) without the identification grooves (equipment side).
(l) Put the new AIPC 29-12-14-02-070 BACK-UP RINGS (86) in position on the sides of the bobbins (12) with the identification grooves (manifold side).
(m) Put the new AIPC 29-12-14-02-060 O-RINGS (87) in position on the sides of the bobbins (12) with the identification grooves (manifold side).
(n) Install the bobbins (12) with the identification grooves in the ports of the manifold (26) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-21-911-001).
(o) Put the new AIPC 29-12-14-02-160 BACK-UP RINGS (96) in position on the sides of the bobbins (30) without the identification grooves (equipment side).
(p) Put the new AIPC 29-12-14-02-170 SQUARE-SECTION SEALS (31) in position on the sides of the bobbins (30) without the identification grooves (equipment side).
(q) Put the new AIPC 29-12-14-02-150 BACK-UP RINGS (95) in position on the sides of the bobbins (30) with the identification grooves (manifold side).
(r) Put the new AIPC 29-12-14-02-140 O-RINGS (94) in position on the sides of the bobbins (30) with the identification grooves (manifold side).
(s) Install the bobbins (30) with the identification grooves in the ports of the manifold (26) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-21-911-001).
(t) Put the new AIPC 29-12-14-02-080 BACK-UP RINGS (38) in position on the sides of the bobbins (39) without the identification grooves (equipment side).
(u) Put the new AIPC 29-12-14-02-090 SQUARE-SECTION SEALS (40) in position on the sides of the bobbins (39) without the identification grooves (equipment side).
(v) Put the new AIPC 29-12-14-02-070 BACK-UP RINGS (98) in position on the sides of the bobbins (39) with the identification grooves (manifold side).
(w) Put the new AIPC 29-12-14-02-060 O-RINGS (97) in position on the sides of the bobbins (39) with the identification grooves (manifold side).
(x) Install the bobbins (39) with the identification grooves in the ports of the manifold (26) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-21-911-001).
(y) Install the priority valve 2064GM (Ref. AMM TASK 29-12-33-400-001).
(z) Install the relief valve 2063GM (Ref. AMM TASK 29-12-32-400-001).
(aa) Install the HP filter 2048GM as follows:
1 Put the HP filter 2048GM in the installation position on the manifold (26).
2 Install the bolts (35) and the bolts (36) and the washers (37).
3 TORQUE the bolts (35) and (36) to between 1.8 and 1.6 m.daN (13.27 and 11.80 lbf.ft )

Subtask 29-12-14-420-051-E (1) Remove the parts which are attached to the removed HP manifold as follows:
NOTE: These components are connected hydraulically to the manifold with bobbins:
(a) Remove the HP filter 2048GM as follows: - The HP filter 2048GM
- The relief valve 2063GM
- The priority valve 2064GM
1 Hold the HP filter 2048GM and remove the bolts (35), (36) and the washers (37).
2 Remove the HP filter 2048GM from the manifold (26).
(b) Remove the relief valve 2063GM (Ref. AMM TASK 29-12-32-000-001).
(c) Remove the priority valve 2064GM (Ref. AMM TASK 29-12-33-000-001).
(d) Remove the hydraulic pressure transducer 2065GN (Ref. AMM TASK 29-32-11-000-002).
(e) Remove the system pressure switch 2151GN (Ref. AMM TASK 29-32-12-000-002).
(f) Remove the flight-control pressure switch 10CE1 (Ref. AMM TASK 27-92-17-000-003).
(g) Remove the fluid sampling valve 2187GM (Ref. AMM TASK 29-12-34-000-001).
(h) Remove the check valve 2022GM as follows:
1 Loosen the check valve 2022GM and remove it at the same time with the O-ring (58).
2 Remove and discard the O-ring (58).
(i) Remove the bobbins (12), (30) and (39) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-21-911-001).
NOTE: There are two different sizes of bobbins.
(j) Install the blanking plugs in the open ports of all of the removed components. (k) Install the PLUG - BLANKING on the open ports of the manifold (26).
(l) Remove and discard these items from the bobbins:
1 The square-section seals (13), (31) and (40)
2 The O-rings (87), (94) and (97)
3 The back-up rings (85), (86), (95), (96), (98) and (38).
(m) Put the bobbins into the BAG - PLASTIC to keep them clean.
(2) Install the removed parts on the replacement manifold (26) as follows:
(a) If the replacement manifold (26) was not installed before. then you must install the cylindrical pin (14).
(b) Remove the blanking plugs from the manifold (26) and the components.
(c) Apply the Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the new O-rings and the threads of the unions.
(d) Install the check valve 2022GM as follows:
1 Put the new AIPC 29-12-14-02-220 O-RING (58) in position on the check valve 2022GM.
2 Install the check valve 2022GM in port G of the manifold (26).
a TORQUE the check valve 2022GM to between 8.3 and 7.5 m.daN (61.21 and 55.31 lbf.ft )
. (e) Install the fluid sampling valve 2187GM (Ref. AMM TASK 29-12-34-400-001).
(f) Install the system pressure switch 2151GN (Ref. AMM TASK 29-32-12-400-002).
(g) Install the flight-control pressure switch 10CE1 (Ref. AMM TASK 27-92-17-400-003).
(h) Install the hydraulic pressure transducer 2065GN (Ref. AMM TASK 29-32-11-400-002).
(i) Apply the Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the new square-section seals, back-up rings and the O-rings.
(j) Put the new AIPC 29-12-14-02-080 BACK-UP RINGS (85) in position on the sides of the bobbins (12) without the identification grooves (equipment side).
(k) Put the new AIPC 29-12-14-02-090 SQUARE-SECTION SEALS (13) in position on the sides of the bobbins (12) without the identification grooves (equipment side).
(l) Put the new AIPC 29-12-14-02-070 BACK-UP RINGS (86) in position on the sides of the bobbins (12) with the identification grooves (manifold side).
(m) Put the new AIPC 29-12-14-02-060 O-RINGS (87) in position on the sides of the bobbins (12) with the identification grooves (manifold side).
(n) Install the bobbins (12) with the identification grooves in the ports of the manifold (26) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-21-911-001).
(o) Put the new AIPC 29-12-14-02-160 BACK-UP RINGS (96) in position on the sides of the bobbins (30) without the identification grooves (equipment side).
(p) Put the new AIPC 29-12-14-02-170 SQUARE-SECTION SEALS (31) in position on the sides of the bobbins (30) without the identification grooves (equipment side).
(q) Put the new AIPC 29-12-14-02-150 BACK-UP RINGS (95) in position on the sides of the bobbins (30) with the identification grooves (manifold side).
(r) Put the new AIPC 29-12-14-02-140 O-RINGS (94) in position on the sides of the bobbins (30) with the identification grooves (manifold side).
(s) Install the bobbins (30) with the identification grooves in the ports of the manifold (26) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-21-911-001).
(t) Put the new AIPC 29-12-14-02-080 BACK-UP RINGS (38) in position on the sides of the bobbins (39) without the identification grooves (equipment side).
(u) Put the new AIPC 29-12-14-02-090 SQUARE-SECTION SEALS (40) in position on the sides of the bobbins (39) without the identification grooves (equipment side).
(v) Put the new AIPC 29-12-14-02-070 BACK-UP RINGS (98) in position on the sides of the bobbins (39) with the identification grooves (manifold side).
(w) Put the new AIPC 29-12-14-02-060 O-RINGS (97) in position on the sides of the bobbins (39) with the identification grooves (manifold side).
(x) Install the bobbins (39) with the identification grooves in the ports of the manifold (26) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-21-911-001).
(y) Install the priority valve 2064GM (Ref. AMM TASK 29-12-33-400-001).
(z) Install the relief valve 2063GM (Ref. AMM TASK 29-12-32-400-001).
(aa) Install the HP filter 2048GM as follows:
1 Put the HP filter 2048GM in the installation position on the manifold (26).
2 Install the bolts (35) and the bolts (36) and the washers (37).
3 TORQUE the bolts (35) and (36) to between 1.8 and 1.6 m.daN (13.27 and 11.80 lbf.ft )
. B. Installation of the HP Manifold
(2) Examine the structure of the aircraft in the area of the manifold attachment for cracks, corrosion or other damage.
(3) Apply a layer of Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) to the mating surface of the manifold (26).
(4) Remove the blanking plugs from the pipe connections.
(5) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(6) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the threads of the pipe end-fittings.
(7) Put the manifold (26) in position on the aircraft.
(8) Install the bolts (61) and the washers (62).
(9) Install the bolts (41) and the nuts (42).
(10) Connect the tee-connector (1) to the union (3).
(11) TORQUE the pipe end-fitting (2) to between 8.3 and 7.5 m.daN (61.21 and 55.31 lbf.ft )

(12) Connect the tee-connector (67) and the pipe (66) to the union (64), but do not tighten the tee-connector end-fitting (65).
(13) Connect the pipe (66) to the cross-union (81).
(14) TORQUE the pipe end-fitting (78) to between 5.9 and 5.4 m.daN (43.51 and 39.82 lbf.ft )

(15) Connect the pipe (53) to the union (80) of the Blue power accumulator 2070GM and TORQUE the pipe end-fitting (79) to between 8.3 and 7.5 m.daN (61.21 and 55.31 lbf.ft )
.
(16) Connect the pipe (53) to the tee-connector (67).
(17) TORQUE the pipe end-fitting (52) to between 8.3 and 7.5 m.daN (61.21 and 55.31 lbf.ft )
.
(18) TORQUE the tee-connector end-fitting (65) to between 5.9 and 5.4 m.daN (43.51 and 39.82 lbf.ft )
.
(19) Install the pipe (60) between the connector (76) and the check valve 2022GM.
(20) TORQUE the pipe end-fittings (59) and (75) to between 4.3 and 3.9 m.daN (31.71 and 28.76 lbf.ft )
.
(21) Install the pipe (57) between the connector (71) and the union (55).
(22) TORQUE the pipe end-fittings (56) and (70) to between 8.3 and 7.5 m.daN (61.21 and 55.31 lbf.ft )
.
(23) Install the pipe (48) between the fitting (73) and the union (46).
(24) TORQUE the pipe end-fittings (47) and (74) to between 8.3 and 7.5 m.daN (61.21 and 55.31 lbf.ft )

(25) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors.
(26) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
Subtask 29-12-14-865-052-A CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT HYDRAULIC LINES ON UNIONS. IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SECOND WRENCH, THERE IS A RISK THAT YOU WILL LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE UNION TOO MUCH.
CAUTION:
YOU MUST INSTALL HYDRAULIC TUBES WITH HYDRAULIC FLUID AS LUBRICANT.
(1) Remove the sealant from the mating surface of the manifold (26) and the aircraft structure with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC. (2) Examine the structure of the aircraft in the area of the manifold attachment for cracks, corrosion or other damage.
(3) Apply a layer of Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) to the mating surface of the manifold (26).
(4) Remove the blanking plugs from the pipe connections.
(5) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(6) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the threads of the pipe end-fittings.
(7) Put the manifold (26) in position on the aircraft.
(8) Install the bolts (61) and the washers (62).
(9) Install the bolts (41) and the nuts (42).
(10) Connect the tee-connector (1) to the union (3).
(11) TORQUE the pipe end-fitting (2) to between 8.3 and 7.5 m.daN (61.21 and 55.31 lbf.ft )
. (12) Connect the tee-connector (67) and the pipe (66) to the union (64), but do not tighten the tee-connector end-fitting (65).
(13) Connect the pipe (66) to the cross-union (81).
(14) TORQUE the pipe end-fitting (78) to between 5.9 and 5.4 m.daN (43.51 and 39.82 lbf.ft )
. (15) Connect the pipe (53) to the union (80) of the Blue power accumulator 2070GM and TORQUE the pipe end-fitting (79) to between 8.3 and 7.5 m.daN (61.21 and 55.31 lbf.ft )
. (16) Connect the pipe (53) to the tee-connector (67).
(17) TORQUE the pipe end-fitting (52) to between 8.3 and 7.5 m.daN (61.21 and 55.31 lbf.ft )
. (18) TORQUE the tee-connector end-fitting (65) to between 5.9 and 5.4 m.daN (43.51 and 39.82 lbf.ft )
. (19) Install the pipe (60) between the connector (76) and the check valve 2022GM.
(20) TORQUE the pipe end-fittings (59) and (75) to between 4.3 and 3.9 m.daN (31.71 and 28.76 lbf.ft )
. (21) Install the pipe (57) between the connector (71) and the union (55).
(22) TORQUE the pipe end-fittings (56) and (70) to between 8.3 and 7.5 m.daN (61.21 and 55.31 lbf.ft )
. (23) Install the pipe (48) between the fitting (73) and the union (46).
(24) TORQUE the pipe end-fittings (47) and (74) to between 8.3 and 7.5 m.daN (61.21 and 55.31 lbf.ft )
. (25) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors.
(26) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE BONDING STRAP(S) IS(ARE) CONNECTED BEFORE YOU CONNECT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR(S).
(27) Connect the electrical connectors (20), (29), (32) and (33) to the receptacles on the manifold (26). C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

D. Preparation for Test
(1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(3) Make sure that the HYD page on the system (lower) display comes on.
(4) Pressurize the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
(5) Make sure that the fluid level in the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system is correct. Add fluid as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
Subtask 29-12-14-710-050-A (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)

(3) Make sure that the fluid level in the Blue hydraulic system is correct. Add fluid as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-002).
(4) Do the EIS stop procedure
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
(5) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(6) Remove the containers from below the HP manifold and the ground leakage-measurement manifold (2146GM).
(7) Remove the warning notices from the cockpit and the ground service panel.
