A. Adjustment of the MLG Free-Fall Extension Mechanical System
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (1) Remove the locking clips (16) from the turnbuckle bodies (17) on the cables (1), (2), (3) and (4).
   (2) Turn the two turnbuckle bodies (17) to release the tension in the cables.
   (3) Install the rigging pins as follows:
     (a) Put in the 98A32301000000 RIGGING PIN at NLG position Pin 1. Make sure that the input lever is locked.
     (b) Put in the 98A27901002000 PIN-RIGGING,RUDDER CONTROL at NLG position Pin 3. Make sure that the bellcrank is locked.
     (c) Put in the 98A27801001000 RIGGING PIN at MLG position Pin 12. Make sure that the pulley is locked.
   (4) To get a rigging pin in, it can be necessary to adjust the adjustable rod connected to the related component. Do this as follows:
     (a) Cut and remove the lockwire from the nuts (13) and the washers (14) at each end of the rod (15). Discard the lockwire.
     (b) Loosen the two nuts (13).
     (c) Adjust the rod (15) so that you can put in the rigging pin.
     (d) Check the inspection holes in the ends of the rod (15). Make sure that they are blocked. This can be done with a short length of lockwire.
     (e) TORQUE the nuts (13) to between 0.649 and 0.531 m.daN (57.43 and 46.99 lbf.in ) T.
     (f) Safety the nuts (13) with 14QFB1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy -.
   (5) Adjust the tension of the cables (1), (2), (3) and (4), but do not do a functional test (
Ref. AMM TASK 32-33-00-820-003).
   (6) Remove the rigging pins that follow:
     (a) 98A32301000000 RIGGING PIN at NLG position Pin 1.

     (c) 98A27801001000 RIGGING PIN at MLG position Pin 12.
   (7) Check the tension of the cables (5) thru (12) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-33-00-200-001).
   (8) If necessary, adjust the cables (5) thru (12) but do not do a functional test (Ref. AMM TASK 32-33-00-820-003).
   (9) Installation of the Rigging Pins:
     (a) Put in the 98DNSA20208060 RIGGING PIN at positions Pin 2 and Pin 11.
     (b) Put in the 98DNSA20208040 RIGGING PIN at position Pin 10.
   (10) To get the rigging pin in adjust the adjustable rod connected to the MLG vent-valve input-lever, if necessary.
   (11) Put in the 98DNSA20208060 RIGGING PIN at position Pin 5.
   (12) To get the rigging pin in, adjust the adjustable rod connected to the input-lever of the cut-out valve, if necessary.
   (13) Put in the 98DNSA20208060 RIGGING PIN at positions Pin 6 and Pin 9.
   (14) To get the rigging pin in, adjust the adjustable rod connected to the input-lever of the MLG door-uplock, if necessry.
