A. Functional Check of the NLG Free-Fall Mechanism Cable Tension
   (1) Get the ambient temperature and the temperature of the underfloor areas.
NOTE: The ambient temperature is the air temperature external to the fuselage.
   (2) Make a plot of the ambient and underfloor temperature points on the graph and find the correct tension value.
NOTE: Where the points of the ambient temperature and the underfloor temperature align (between the given lines of the tension), then the correct tension indication is calculated by the linear extrapolation. (See the example on the graph).
   (3) Attach the CABLE TENSIOMETER to one of the cables at position A in the lateral avionics compartment, zones 127 and 128. Make sure that the tensiometer is attached a minimum of 80 mm (3.150 in.) away from the pulleys and the turnbuckles.

   (4) Compare the tensiometer indication with the tension value on the graph for the known ambient and the underfloor temperatures. The value must be in the adjustment range given on the graph.
   (5) If necessary, adjust the tension in the cable (Ref. AMM TASK 32-33-00-820-001).
