A. Safety Precautions
(1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(3) On panel 400VU:
(a) Make sure that the handle (18) is folded into the center console.
(b) Put a WEDGE - NON METALLIC at each side of the handle (18) to keep it in position and prevent its movement.
Subtask 32-33-00-010-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
(3) On panel 400VU:
- Make sure that the landing-gear control-lever is in the DOWN position
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
(a) Make sure that the handle (18) is folded into the center console.
(b) Put a WEDGE - NON METALLIC at each side of the handle (18) to keep it in position and prevent its movement.
B. Get Access
(1) Open the NLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001).
(2) Make sure that a 98D32203502000 SAFETY PIN - NLG DOOR is installed in each NLG door.
(3) Open the MLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(4) Make sure that a 460005835 SLEEVE - GROUND LOCK is installed on each MLG door.
(5) Open the forward cargo-compartment door 825 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(6) Remove the forward cargo-compartment ceiling-panels 131BC (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-000-002).
(7) Remove the cockpit floor panels 211FF 211JF (Ref. AMM TASK 53-12-11-000-001).
(8) Remove the passenger compartment floor panels 232DF 232LF 241EF 241LF 242FF 242LF (Ref. AMM TASK 53-32-12-000-002).

(3) Open the MLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).

(5) Open forward cargo-compartment door 825 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(6) Remove forward cargo-compartment ceiling-panels 131BC (Ref. AMM TASK 25-54-12-000-002).
(7) Remove cockpit floor panels 211FF and 211JF (Ref. AMM TASK 53-12-11-000-001).
(8) Remove passenger-compartment floor panels 232DF 241EF 241LF 242FF and 242LF (Ref. AMM TASK 53-32-12-000-002).
C. Flight Configuration Precautions
(1) If the electrical power is not necessary for other maintenance tasks, de-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002). Then, it is not necessary to operate the LGCIU circuit breakers.
(2) If the electrical power is necessary, do the precautions for flight configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001) before you open the LGCIU circuit breakers.
Subtask 32-33-00-865-059-A (1) If the electrical power is not necessary for other maintenance tasks, de-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002). Then, it is not necessary to operate the LGCIU circuit breakers.
(2) If the electrical power is necessary, do the precautions for flight configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001) before you open the LGCIU circuit breakers.

INCORRECT ADJUSTMENT OF THE CABLES CAN CAUSE THE FREE-FALL EXTENSION SYSTEM TO BE UNSERVICEABLE.

MLG Free-Fall Extension - System Adjustment ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(1) Install the 98DNSA20208150 RIGGING PIN at position Pin 12 and Pin 1.
(2) Make sure that the NLG doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001).
(3) Make sure that a 98D32203502000 SAFETY PIN - NLG DOOR is installed in each NLG door (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-002).
(4) Make sure that the MLG doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(5) Make sure a 460005835 SLEEVE - GROUND LOCK is installed on each MLG door.
(6) Install the 98DNSA20208060 RIGGING PIN at position Pin 2 and Pin 11.
(7) Make sure that the related parts are locked.

(5) Make sure a 460005835 SLEEVE - GROUND LOCK is installed on each MLG door.
(6) Install the 98DNSA20208060 RIGGING PIN at position Pin 2 and Pin 11.
(7) Make sure that the related parts are locked.
NOTE: If the rigging pins can not be installed, adjust the MLG mechanical system (Ref. AMM TASK 32-33-00-820-004).
B. Adjustment of the cables (1) and (2)
(1) Attach the CABLE TENSIOMETER to the cable (1) at position A in the forward cargo compartment, zone 131(132). Make sure that the tensiometer is attached a minimum of 80 mm (3.1496 in.) away from pulleys or turnbuckles.
(2) Get the ambient temperature and the temperature of the underfloor area.
(3) Remove the two locking clips (16) from the turnbuckle body (17) between the cables (1) and (2).
(4) Plot the ambient and underfloor temperature points on the graph and find the correct tension value.
(5) When the points of the ambient temperature and the underfloor temperature meet between the given lines of tension:
(7) Get five tensiometer indications from the same position on the cable. Use the middle indication as the correct value. Ignore the two lowest and the two highest indication values.
(8) Release the tensiometer.
(9) Safety the ends of the cables (1) and (2) and the turnbuckle body (17) with the two locking clips (16).
(10) If necessary, increase the cable tension to align the locking clips (16) and the turnbuckle body (17). Do not decrease the cable tension to align the locking clips (16) and the turnbuckle body (17).
(11) Remove the tensiometer.
Subtask 32-33-00-820-054-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Attach the CABLE TENSIOMETER to the cable (1) at position A in the forward cargo compartment, zone 131(132). Make sure that the tensiometer is attached a minimum of 80 mm (3.1496 in.) away from pulleys or turnbuckles.

- The correct tension value will be calculated by linear extrapolation. (See the example on the graph).

(8) Release the tensiometer.
(9) Safety the ends of the cables (1) and (2) and the turnbuckle body (17) with the two locking clips (16).
(10) If necessary, increase the cable tension to align the locking clips (16) and the turnbuckle body (17). Do not decrease the cable tension to align the locking clips (16) and the turnbuckle body (17).
(11) Remove the tensiometer.
B. Adjustment of the cables (1) and (2)

C. Adjustment of the cables (3) and (4)
(1) Do the procedure as for the cables (1) and (2), specified in paragraph 4. B.

D. Adjustment of the cables (5) and (6)
(1) Attach the CABLE TENSIOMETER to the cable (5) at position C in the MLG-Bay, zone 191(192). Make sure that the tensiometer is attached a minimum of 80 mm (3.1496 in.) away from pulleys and turnbuckles.
(2) Make sure of the ambient temperature.
(3) Remove the two locking clips (16) from the turnbuckle body (17) between the cables (5) and (6).
(4) Find the correct tension value on the graph for the ambient temperature:
(6) Release the tensiometer.
(7) Operate the tensiometer. If you do not get the correct value, adjust the turnbuckle (17) again, until the value is correct.
(8) Safety the ends of the cables (5) and (6) and the turnbuckle body (17) with the two locking clips (16).
Subtask 32-33-00-820-057-A (1) Attach the CABLE TENSIOMETER to the cable (5) at position C in the MLG-Bay, zone 191(192). Make sure that the tensiometer is attached a minimum of 80 mm (3.1496 in.) away from pulleys and turnbuckles.
(2) Make sure of the ambient temperature.
(3) Remove the two locking clips (16) from the turnbuckle body (17) between the cables (5) and (6).
(4) Find the correct tension value on the graph for the ambient temperature:
- For Weight on Wheels
- For Weight on Jacks.
(6) Release the tensiometer.
(7) Operate the tensiometer. If you do not get the correct value, adjust the turnbuckle (17) again, until the value is correct.
(8) Safety the ends of the cables (5) and (6) and the turnbuckle body (17) with the two locking clips (16).
NOTE: If necessary, increase the cable tension to align the locking clips (16) and the turnbuckle body (17). Do not decrease the cable tension to align the locking clips (16) and the turnbuckle body (17).
(9) Remove the tensiometer. E. Adjustment of the cables (7) and (8)
(1) Do the same procedure as for cables (5) and (6), specified in paragraph 4. D.

F. Adjustment of the cables (9) and (10)
(1) Attach the CABLE TENSIOMETER to the cable (9) at position B in the MLG-Bay, zone 191(192). Make sure that the tensiometer is attached a minimum of 80 mm (3.1496 in.) away from pulleys and turnbuckles.
(2) Make sure of the ambient temperature.
(3) Remove the two locking clips (16) from the turnbuckle body (17) between the cables (9) and (10).
(4) Find the correct tension value on the graph for the ambient temperature:
(6) Release the tensiometer.
(7) Operate the tensiometer. If you do not get the correct value, adjust the turnbuckle (17) again, until the value is correct.
(8) Safety the ends of the cables (9) and (10) and the turnbuckle body (17) with the two locking clips (16).
