FORWARD LAVATORIES - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
3. Job Set-up
Subtask 25-41-41-860-089-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
   (2) Depressurize the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-002).
   (3) Drain the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 12-24-38-680-001).
   (4) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to do the servicing of the potable water system.
   (5) For the location of this component, refer to paragraph Component Location
(Ref. AMM D/O 25-41-00-00).
   (6) De-energize the Cabin Intercommunication Data System (CIDS) (Ref. AMM TASK 23-73-00-862-001).

C. Get Access
   (1) Open lateral-avionics-compartment access-door 812 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-00-010-002).
   (2) Remove each wall-mounted Cabin Attendant Seat (CAS) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-22-41-000-001).
   (3) Remove the Flight Attendant Panel (FAP) (Ref. AMM TASK 23-73-12-000-007).
   (4) Remove the cockpit door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-51-11-000-001).
   (5) Remove the forward utility-area ceiling-panels (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-42-000-001).
   (6) Remove the forward passenger/crew door-frame-linings (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-45-000-005).
   (7) Remove the lavatory smoke detector (Ref. AMM TASK 26-17-15-000-001).
   (8) Remove the lavatory door (Ref. AMM TASK 25-45-19-000-001).
   (9) Remove emergency oxygen container [29WR] (Ref. AMM TASK 35-21-41-000-001).
   (10) In the lavatory:
     (a) Remove the toilet shroud and the seat (Ref. AMM TASK 25-45-22-000-001).
     (b) Remove the toilet assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-41-000-001).
     (c) Remove the toilet drain line behind the lavatory (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-010-002).
     (d) If necessary, remove the related waste-water pipe heaters and insulation (Ref. AMM TASK 30-71-53-000-003) or (Ref. AMM D/O 30-71-53-00).
     (e) If necessary, remove the related potable-water pipe heaters and insulation (Ref. AMM TASK 30-73-53-000-001) and/or (Ref. AMM TASK 30-73-54-000-002).
4. Procedure
Subtask 25-41-41-020-122-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Electrical Connections
F ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) On the lavatory outboard wall (1), disconnect electrical connector 7200VC-A (7) as follows:
     (a) Disengage the spring clips (3) from the catches (4).
     (b) Remove the access panel (2).
     (c) Disconnect the electrical connector (7).
     (d) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
     (e) Safety the electrical connector (7) to the aircraft structure.
   (2) On the lavatory ceiling, disconnect electrical connector 2733VC-A (6) as follows:
     (a) Disconnect the electrical connector (6).
     (b) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
     (c) Safety the electrical connector (6) to the aircraft structure.
     (d) Safety the receptacle of the electrical connector (6) to the lavatory structure.
   (3) On the lavatory wall, disconnect electrical connector 2791VC-A (5) as follows:
     (a) Disconnect the electrical connector (5).
     (b) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
     (c) Safety the electrical connector (5) to the aircraft structure.
Subtask 25-41-41-020-123-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Removal of the Air Connections
F AIR CONNECTIONS ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Make match marks on the components that you disconnect/remove to record their connections/positions. This is important for the subsequent installation procedure.
   (2) Disconnect the air extraction hose (1) as follows:
     (a) Loosen the clamp (2) and disconnect the air extraction hose (1) from the tube (3).
     (b) Remove the clamp (2).
     (c) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
     (d) If necessary, safety the air extraction hose (1) to the lavatory structure.
     (e) If necessary, safety the tube (3) to the aircraft structure.
   (3) Disconnect the ventilation hose (4) as follows:
     (a) Loosen the clamp (5) and disconnect the ventilation hose (4) from the tube (6).
     (b) Remove the clamp (5).
     (c) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
Subtask 25-41-41-020-124-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
C. Removal of the Water Connections
F WATER CONNECTIONS ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Make match marks on the components that you disconnect/remove to record their connections/positions. This is important for the subsequent installation procedure.
WARNING: DO NOT DO WORK ON THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM AND THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM AT THE SAME TIME. THIS WILL PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. SUCH CONTAMINATION CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.
   (2) Disconnect the bonding strap (18) as follows:
     (a) If the nut (19) is installed, remove it.
     (b) Remove the screw (16) and the washer(s) (17) and disconnect the bonding strap (18).
     (c) Safety the bonding strap (18) to the lavatory structure.
   (3) Put the CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) in position below the water connections that you will disconnect.
   (4) Disconnect the potable water connection as follows:
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED. A PRESSURIZED SYSTEM CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS WHEN THEY DO WORK ON IT.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE EQUIPMENT YOU USE FOR THIS PROCEDURE IS CLEAN AND APPROVED FOR THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. IF NOT IT CAN CAUSE CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM.
WARNING: BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM, CLEAN YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP AND WATER. THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION. (CONTAMINATION FROM TOILET WASTE IS DANGEROUS TO HEALTH).
     (a) Remove the sealant with the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
     (b) Loosen the clamps (3) and carefully release the hose (1) from the line end-fittings (4) to get access to the nut (5).
     (c) Loosen the nut (5) and disconnect the potable water hose (2) from the end fitting of the tube (6).
     (d) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
   (5) Disconnect the waste-water drain connection as follows:
WARNING: ALWAYS USE RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO WORK:
  • ON THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM, OR
  • ON PARTS THAT HAVE CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE WATER SYSTEM.
WHEN YOU COMPLETE THE WORK PROCEDURE, CLEAN YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP AND WATER. THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION (WASTE WATER IS DANGEROUS FOR HEALTH).
     (a) Loosen the clamp (8) and disconnect the waste-water drain hose (7) from the waste-water drain tube (9).
     (b) Remove the clamp (8).
     (c) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
   (6) Remove the vacuum waste connection as follows:
WARNING: ALWAYS USE RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO WORK:
  • ON THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM, OR
  • ON PARTS THAT HAVE CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE SYSTEM.
WHEN YOU COMPLETE THE WORK PROCEDURE, CLEAN YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP AND WATER. THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION (TOILET WASTE IS DANGEROUS FOR HEALTH).
WARNING: WHEN YOU REMOVE A COMPONENT OF THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM, ALWAYS DISINFECT THE PART BEFORE YOU PUT IT IN A PLASTIC BAG, THEN SEAL THE BAG. DO NOT PUT DOCUMENTS INTO THE PLASTIC BAG. SEAL THE BAG FIRST,THEN ATTACH THE DOCUMENTS TO IT. THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION OR ILLNESS. CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.
     (a) Use the BAG - PLASTIC to keep the vacuum-waste line components.
     (b) Remove the clamps (12) and move the sleeves (13) in the direction of the vacuum waste hose (14).
     (c) Disconnect the vacuum waste hose (14) from the vacuum waste tubes (10) and (15).
     (d) Remove and discard the O-rings (11).
     (e) Remove the sleeves (13).
     (f) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.

D. Removal of the Ceiling Supports (if necessary)
F CEILING SUPPORTS ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Make match marks on the components that you disconnect/remove to record their connections/positions. This is important for the subsequent installation procedure.
   (2) Remove the screws (7) and the washers (8).
   (3) Carefully move the plate (6) to get access to the support (5).
   (4) Remove the nuts (2), the bolts (1) and the supports (5) and (3).
   (5) Remove the bolts (9), the washers (10) and the support (4).

E. Removal of the Upper Attachments
F UPPER ATTACHMENTS ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Make match marks on the components that you disconnect/remove to record their connections/positions. This is important for the subsequent installation procedure.
   (2) Hold the tie-rods (1) in position and remove the quick-release pins (2) and (3).
   (3) Remove the tie-rods (1).

F. Removal of the Door Sill
F DOOR SILL ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Remove the sealant with the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
   (2) Remove the screws (1) and the door sill (2).
   (3) If necessary, remove the spacer (3).
Subtask 25-41-41-020-128-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
G. Removal of the Lower Attachments
F LOWER ATTACHMENTS ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Make match marks on the components that you disconnect/remove to record their connections/positions. This is important for the subsequent installation procedure.
   (2) In lateral avionics-compartment LH at FR16, remove the bolt (11) and the washer (10).
   (3) If the washer (9) is installed, remove it.
   (4) Remove the sealant with the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
   (5) Remove the screws (12), the washers (13) and the angle plate (14).
   (6) Remove the protection wax from the bolts (1) with the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
   (7) Remove the bolts (1).
   (8) If the washers (2) and (3) are installed, remove them.
   (9) Remove the bushes (4) and (5).
CAUTION: WHEN YOU MOVE A HEAVY COMPONENT, DO NOT PUSH IT ALONG THE CABIN FLOOR OR LET IT RUB AGAINST THE FLOOR. IF YOU DO, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE CABIN FLOOR AND/OR THE COMPONENT.
   (10) Carefully lift the lavatory module and move it to the center of the forward utility area.
   (11) If the shim plates (6) are installed, remove them as follows:
     (a) Record the positions and the number of shim plates (6) for the installation procedure.
     (b) Remove the shim plates (6).
   (12) Remove the bushes (8).
   (13) Remove and discard the packings (7).
Subtask 25-41-41-020-129-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
H. Disassembly of the Lavatory
WARNING: YOU MUST MAKE SURE THAT YOU CAN HOLD THE COMPONENT BEFORE YOU REMOVE/INSTALL IT. THE COMPONENT IS HEAVY. IF IT FALLS, IT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) For the disassembly of the lavatory, refer to CMM 254120.
   (2) If necessary, put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
