Removal of a Toilet Assembly
WARNING:
DO NOT DO WORK ON THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM AND THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM AT THE SAME TIME. THIS WILL PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM. SUCH CONTAMINATION CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.
WARNING:
ALWAYS USE RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO WORK:
- ON THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM, OR
- ON PARTS THAT HAVE CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE SYSTEM.
WARNING:
WHEN YOU REMOVE A COMPONENT OF THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM, ALWAYS DISINFECT THE PART BEFORE YOU PUT IT IN A PLASTIC BAG, THEN SEAL THE BAG.
DO NOT PUT DOCUMENTS INTO THE PLASTIC BAG. SEAL THE BAG FIRST,THEN ATTACH THE DOCUMENTS TO IT.
THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION OR ILLNESS. CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).

B. Draining and Disinfection of the Waste Holding Tank
(1) Drain the toilet system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-00-680-001).
(2) Clean the toilet system with disinfectant:
(a) Put 2 l (0.5283 USgal) of Deodorant-Aircraft Toilets - - (Material No.11GCA1) in each toilet bowl and flush them through.
Subtask 38-31-41-790-051-A (1) Drain the toilet system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-00-680-001).
(2) Clean the toilet system with disinfectant:
(a) Put 2 l (0.5283 USgal) of Deodorant-Aircraft Toilets - - (Material No.11GCA1) in each toilet bowl and flush them through.
NOTE: This procedure is to make sure that the complete toilet system is prepared for maintenance action.
C. Leak Test of the Vacuum Toilet System
(1) Do the short leak test of the vacuum toilet system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-00-790-802).
(2) Record the results of the test.

E. Get Access
(1) Make sure that you release the pressure from the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-002).
(2) Open the lavatory door.
(3) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position at all the related lavatories to tell persons not to use them.
(4) Remove the toilet shroud (Ref. AMM TASK 25-45-22-000-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-45-22-000-802).
(5) Use Disinfectant and cleaner-Aircraft general - - (Material No.11CBA1) to clean the toilet assembly.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that you release the pressure from the potable water system (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-002).
(2) Open the lavatory door.
(3) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position at all the related lavatories to tell persons not to use them.
(4) Remove the toilet shroud (Ref. AMM TASK 25-45-22-000-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-45-22-000-802).
(5) Use Disinfectant and cleaner-Aircraft general - - (Material No.11CBA1) to clean the toilet assembly.

A. Removal of the Toilet Assembly
(2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to open the potable-water shutoff valve (4).
(4) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(6) Remove the bonding strap (17).
(7) Unlock and remove the clamp (13).
(8) Move the sleeve (14) to one side.
(9) Remove the packings (12) and discard them.
(10) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(12) Remove the rinse valve screen (11) from the rinse valve (9).
(13) Remove the packing (10) and discard it.
(14) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(15) Remove the bolts (7) and the washers (6).
(16) Remove the toilet assembly (8) and the washers (5).
(17) Remove the unwanted water with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(18) If you use the removed parts again, clean them with disinfectant (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).
Subtask 38-31-41-020-052-J ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: The lavatory modules which have toilet assemblies P/N 14320-002C1 with a manual shutoff valve can also use toilet assemblies with P/N 14330-004B1.
The new lavatory modules which have toilet assemblies P/N 14330-004B1 installed cannot be replaced with the toilet assemblies which have P/N 14320-002C1.
The toilet shroud in the new lavatory modules is smaller. This prevents the installation of toilet assemblies P/N 14320-002C1 with a manual shutoff valve.
(1) Close the potable-water shutoff valve (4). The new lavatory modules which have toilet assemblies P/N 14330-004B1 installed cannot be replaced with the toilet assemblies which have P/N 14320-002C1.
The toilet shroud in the new lavatory modules is smaller. This prevents the installation of toilet assemblies P/N 14320-002C1 with a manual shutoff valve.
(2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to open the potable-water shutoff valve (4).
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(3) Disconnect electrical connector 50MG-A (1) from the flush control unit (2). (4) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR(S) IS(ARE) DISCONNECTED BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT THE BONDING STRAP(S).
(5) Remove the nut (18), the bolt (15) and the washers (16). (6) Remove the bonding strap (17).
(7) Unlock and remove the clamp (13).
(8) Move the sleeve (14) to one side.
(9) Remove the packings (12) and discard them.
(10) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
CAUTION:
USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
(11) Disconnect the water line (3). - ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
- ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.
(12) Remove the rinse valve screen (11) from the rinse valve (9).
(13) Remove the packing (10) and discard it.
(14) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(15) Remove the bolts (7) and the washers (6).
(16) Remove the toilet assembly (8) and the washers (5).
(17) Remove the unwanted water with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(18) If you use the removed parts again, clean them with disinfectant (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).
A. Removal of the Toilet Assembly
(1) Close the potable-water shutoff valve (13).
(2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to open the potable-water shutoff valve (13).
(4) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(5) Disconnect the outlet elbow (17) from the waste water system as follows:
(a) Unlock and remove the clamp (16).
(b) Move the sleeve (15) to one side.
(c) Remove the packings (14) and discard them.
(d) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(7) If necessary:
(a) Unlock and remove the quick-release clamp (9) from the rinse valve (12).
(b) Remove the adapter (7), packing (8), rinse valve screen (10) and packing (11).
(c) Discard the packings (8) and (11).
(8) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(9) Remove the screws (4) and the washers (5).
(10) Remove the toilet assembly (1).
(11) Remove the unwanted water with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(12) If you use the removed parts again, clean them with disinfectant (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).
(1) Close the potable-water shutoff valve (13).
(2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to open the potable-water shutoff valve (13).
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(3) Disconnect the electrical connector (3) from the flush valve assembly (2). (4) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(5) Disconnect the outlet elbow (17) from the waste water system as follows:
(a) Unlock and remove the clamp (16).
(b) Move the sleeve (15) to one side.
(c) Remove the packings (14) and discard them.
(d) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
CAUTION:
USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
(6) Disconnect the water line (6) from the adapter (7). - ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
- ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.
(7) If necessary:
(a) Unlock and remove the quick-release clamp (9) from the rinse valve (12).
(b) Remove the adapter (7), packing (8), rinse valve screen (10) and packing (11).
(c) Discard the packings (8) and (11).
(8) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(9) Remove the screws (4) and the washers (5).
(10) Remove the toilet assembly (1).
(11) Remove the unwanted water with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(12) If you use the removed parts again, clean them with disinfectant (Ref. AMM TASK 38-30-00-510-001).
