WARNING: ALWAYS USE RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO WORK:
  • ON THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM, OR
  • ON PARTS THAT HAVE CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE SYSTEM.
WHEN YOU COMPLETE THE WORK PROCEDURE, CLEAN YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP AND WATER. THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION (TOILET WASTE IS DANGEROUS FOR HEALTH).

A. Safety Precautions
NOTE: For health reasons this task gives some information about what you must do with components removed from the in-service waste water and toilet system.
   (1) Obey all the warnings and cautions which are given.
   (2) Use plastic bags with sufficient protection for the removed components.
4. Procedure
Subtask 38-30-00-869-056-A
A. Preparation
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
   (1) If you ship components that are removed from the waste water system:
     (a) Make a solution of Disinfectant-Potable Water System - Legacy (Material No.11AKG9) and water as given in table 1
     (b) Table 1

     (c) Put the component in an applicable container with the solution and let it stay for 12 hours.
     (d) After 12 hours, remove the component from the solution and rinse it with clean water.
     (e) Clean the component with Aqueous Cleaner-Aircraft Exterior Pressure Spraying - (Material No.08ABC1) and dry it with a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) or dry air.
     (f) Put the component in an applicable bag and identify it with a tag.

B. Preparation
WARNING: WHEN YOU REMOVE A COMPONENT OF THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM, ALWAYS DISINFECT THE PART BEFORE YOU PUT IT IN A PLASTIC BAG, THEN SEAL THE BAG. DO NOT PUT DOCUMENTS INTO THE PLASTIC BAG. SEAL THE BAG FIRST,THEN ATTACH THE DOCUMENTS TO IT. THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION OR ILLNESS. CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.
   (1) If you ship components that are removed from the toilet system:
     (a) Make sure that the toilet system is drained, flushed and disinfected (Ref. AMM TASK 38-31-00-680-001).
     (b) Clean the component with a solution of soap and warm water and a BRUSH - BRISTLED, STIFF.
     (c) Use Disinfectant and cleaner-Aircraft general - - (Material No.11CBA1) to disinfect the component.
     (d) Put the component in an applicable plastic bag.
     (e) Put a warning notice on the bag to tell persons the contents and its destination.
     (f) Obey the manufacturer's instructions for shipping and storage of the components.

C. Preparation of used Components before their Installation
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
WARNING: WHEN YOU REMOVE A COMPONENT OF THE TOILET WASTE SYSTEM, ALWAYS DISINFECT THE PART BEFORE YOU PUT IT IN A PLASTIC BAG, THEN SEAL THE BAG. DO NOT PUT DOCUMENTS INTO THE PLASTIC BAG. SEAL THE BAG FIRST,THEN ATTACH THE DOCUMENTS TO IT. THIS WILL PREVENT INFECTION OR ILLNESS. CONTAMINATION FROM THE WASTE CAN BE DANGEROUS TO HEALTH.
   (1) For the used components of the toilet waste-water system (only the components without electrical parts and connectors), do the steps that follow before their installation:
     (a) Prepare a solution of Disinfectant-Potable Water System - Legacy (Material No.11AKG9) and water as given in table 1.
     (b) Put the component and the solution in an applicable container.
NOTE: The recommended soaking time of 12 hours is only applicable for the waste holding tank.
     (c) After 12 hours, remove the component from the solution and flush it with clean water.
     (d) Clean the component with Aqueous Cleaner-Aircraft Exterior Pressure Spraying - (Material No.08ABC1) and dry it with a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) or dry air.
     (e) Put the component in an applicable bag and attach a tag that shows the function and the location of the component.
   (2) For the used components of the toilet waste-water system (only the components with electrical parts and connectors), do the steps that follow before their installation:
     (a) Put the component in an applicable container and clean it with a solution of soap and warm water and a BRUSH - BRISTLED, STIFF.
     (b) Flush the component with a solution as given in table 1.
     (c) Flush the component with clean water.
     (d) Clean the component with Aqueous Cleaner-Aircraft Exterior Pressure Spraying - (Material No.08ABC1) and dry it with a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) or dry air.
     (e) Put the component in an applicable bag or container and attach a tag that shows the function and the location of the component.
   (3) For the use of attachment parts of the toilet waste-water system again (only the components without electrical parts and connectors), do the steps that follow before their installation:
     (a) Use Disinfectant and cleaner-Aircraft general - - (Material No.11CBA1) to clean the removed parts.
     (b) Put the component in an applicable bag or container and attach a tag that shows the function and the location of the component.
