A. Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).

B. Get Access
   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at the FWD cargo-compartment door 825.
   (2) Open the FWD cargo-compartment door 825 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
   (3) Set the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 6LU to ON position.
   (4) In the FWD cargo-compartment, remove the panels:
     (a) FOR [142DU] (HEATER-TAPE, WASTE WTR)

     (b) FOR [146DU] (HEATER-TAPE,)

     (c) FOR [147DU] (HEATER-TAPE,)

4. Procedure
Subtask 30-71-53-020-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Heater Element
   (1) Remove and discard the cable ties (2) of the identification and warning labels (1).
   (2) Remove the clamps (11) and the spacers (10).
   (3) Remove the velcro tape (3), the adhesive tape (9) and the insulation muffs (4).
   (4) Carefully remove and discard the adhesive tape (7) which is on the longitudinal cut of the insulation sleeve (8).
   (5) Remove the insulation sleeve (8).
   (6) Disconnect the three wires of the heater element (5) from the terminal block.
NOTE: Identify all the electrical wires before you disconnect them.
   (7) If necessary, remove the related temperature sensor (Ref. AMM TASK 30-71-17-000-003).
   (8) Remove and discard the heat-shrink sleeve that safeties both ends of the glass fiber tape (6).
NOTE: Do not damage the waste water line when you remove the heat-shrink sleeve.
   (9) Remove and discard the glass fiber tape (6) that attaches the heater element (5).
   (10) Remove the heater element (5).
