YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). D. Get Access

CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 73-11-09-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Installation of the Fuel Nozzle
(1) Removal of the protection covers:
(2) Install the fuel nozzles as follows:
(a) Find and mark the notch located at the top (12 o'clock) position on the diffuser case with theP05-423 marker, felt tip, rapid drying .
1 Apply theP03-001 lubricant, aircraft turbine engine (synthetic base) or the P06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize to the three new EIPC 73-11-09-01-090 GASKET (2) or new EIPC 73-11-09-01-120 GASKET (2) or new EIPC 73-11-09-01-150 GASKET (2).
2 Install the three gaskets (2) to the grooves of the No. 17, No. 16 and No. 15 (1) nozzle bosses.
3 Apply the paraffin wax blend (Material No.P05-396) or theP05-395 beeswax (was: P06-015) to the threads of the nine bolts (3).
a For new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
4 Install the No. 17, No. 16 and No. 15 nozzles (1) and the bracket (4) to the diffuser case bosses with the nine bolts (3) fingertight.
5 Attach the tube (DR122) and the clamp to the bracket (4) with the bolt (5) fingertight.
6 TORQUE the nine bolts (3) to between 60 and 45 lbf.in (0.68 and 0.51 m.daN )
in small increments and until the same torque indication holds.
7 TORQUE the bolt (5) to between 44 and 38 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.43 m.daN )

(c) Install the No. 14 fuel nozzle (15) as follows:
1 Apply the paraffin wax blend (Material No.P05-396) or theP05-395 beeswax (was: P06-015) to the new EIPC 73-11-09-01-090 GASKET (2) or the new EIPC 73-11-09-01-120 GASKET (2) or the new EIPC 73-11-09-01-150 GASKET (2).
2 Install the gasket (2) to the groove of the No. 14 nozzle (15) boss.
3 Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize to the threads of the three bolts (3).
a For new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
4 Install the No. 14 nozzle (15) and the bracket (16) to the diffuser case boss with the three bolts (3) fingertight.
5 Attach the tube (DR121) and the clamp to the bracket (16) with the bolt (17) fingertight.
6 TORQUE the three bolts (3) to between 60 and 45 lbf.in (0.68 and 0.51 m.daN )
in small increments and until the same torque indication holds.
7 TORQUE the bolt (17) to between 44 and 38 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.43 m.daN )

(3) Install the air duct (AD02) (31) to the air/oil heat exchanger as follows:
(a) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize to the threads of the 14 bolts (30) and the two nuts (27).
1 For new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(b) Install the five bolts (30) and the washers (32) to the top flange of the air duct (AD02) (31) fingertight.
(c) Install the one bolt (30) to the bottom flange of the air duct (AD02) (31) fingertight.
(d) Install the eight bolts (30) and the spacers (29) to the side flanges of the air duct (AD02) (31) fingertight.
(e) Install the two bolts (28) and the nuts (27) to the connecting links and the air duct (AD02) (31) fingertight.
(f) TORQUE the 14 bolts (30) to between 100 and 90 lbf.in (1.13 and 1.02 m.daN )

(g) TORQUE the two nuts (27) to between 340 and 300 lbf.in (3.84 and 3.39 m.daN )
.
(4) Install the No. 13 and No. 12 fuel nozzles (15) as follows:
(a) Apply the paraffin wax blend (Material No.P05-396) or theP05-395 beeswax (was: P06-015) to the two new EIPC 73-11-09-01-090 GASKET (2) or the new EIPC 73-11-09-01-120 GASKET (2) or the new EIPC 73-11-09-01-150 GASKET (2).
(b) Install the two gaskets (2) to the grooves of the No. 13 and No. 12 nozzle (15) bosses.
(c) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize to the threads of the six bolts (3).
1 For new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(d) Install the No. 13 and No. 12 nozzles (15) to the diffuser case bosses with the six bolts (3).
(e) TORQUE the six bolts (3) to between 60 and 45 lbf.in (0.68 and 0.51 m.daN )
in small increments and until the same torque indication holds.

(5) Install the No. 11 and No. 10 fuel nozzles (41) as follows:
(a) Apply the paraffin wax blend (Material No.P05-396) or theP05-395 beeswax (was: P06-015) to the two new EIPC 73-11-09-01-090 GASKET (2) or the new EIPC 73-11-09-01-120 GASKET (2) or the new EIPC 73-11-09-01-150 GASKET (2).
(b) Install the two gaskets (2) to the grooves of the No. 11 and No. 10 nozzle (41) bosses.
(c) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize to the threads of the six bolts (3).
1 For new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(d) Install the No. 11 and No. 10 nozzles (41) to the diffuser case bosses with the six bolts (3).
(e) TORQUE the six bolts (3) to between 60 and 45 lbf.in (0.68 and 0.51 m.daN )
in small increments and until the same torque indication holds.

(6) Install the heat shield (53) as follows:
(a) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize to the threads of the four bolts (51).
1 For new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(b) Install the heat shield (53) to the four diffuser case brackets with the four washers (52) and the bolts (51).
(c) TORQUE the four bolts (51) to between 70 and 55 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.62 m.daN )

(7) Install the No. 9, No. 8 and No. 7 fuel nozzles (41) as follows:
(a) Apply the paraffin wax blend (Material No.P05-396) or theP05-395 beeswax (was: P06-015) to the three new EIPC 73-11-09-01-090 GASKET (2) or the new EIPC 73-11-09-01-120 GASKET (2) or the new EIPC 73-11-09-01-150 GASKET (2).
(b) Install the three gaskets (2) to the grooves of the No. 9, No. 8 and No. 7 nozzle (41) bosses.
(c) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize to the threads of the nine bolts (3).
1 For new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(d) Install the No. 9, No. 8 and No. 7 nozzles (41) and the brackets (63) and (64) to the diffuser case boss with the nine bolts (3).
(e) TORQUE the nine bolts (3) to between 60 and 45 lbf.in (0.68 and 0.51 m.daN )
in small increments and until the same torque indication holds.
P05-291 cable, safety and the P05-292 ferrule, safety cable with the INSTALLATION TOOL - CABLE.
(8) Attach the tubes (LR46) and (AP01) as follows:
(a) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize to the threads of the two bolts (76) and bolt (74).
1 For new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(b) Attach the clamp (75) to the tube (AP01) and the bracket with the two bolts (76) fingertight.
(c) Attach the tube (LR46) and the clamp to the bracket with the bolt (74) fingertight.
(d) TORQUE the two bolts (76) to between 44 and 38 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.43 m.daN )

(e) TORQUE the bolt (74) to between 44 and 38 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.43 m.daN )
.
(9) Install the No. 6 fuel nozzle (41) and No. 5 fuel nozzle (15) as follows:
(a) Apply the paraffin wax blend (Material No.P05-396) or theP05-395 beeswax (was: P06-015) to the two new EIPC 73-11-09-01-090 GASKET (2) or the new EIPC 73-11-09-01-120 GASKET (2) or the new EIPC 73-11-09-01-150 GASKET (2).
(b) Install the two gaskets (2) to the grooves of the No. 6 and No. 5 nozzle (15) and (41) bosses.
(c) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize to the threads of the six bolts (3).
1 For new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(d) Install the No. 6 fuel nozzle (41), No. 5 nozzle (15) and bracket (86) to the diffuser case bosses with the six bolts (3).
(e) TORQUE the six bolts (3) to between 60 and 45 lbf.in (0.68 and 0.51 m.daN )
in small increments and until the same torque indication holds.

(10) Install the No. 4 and No. 3 fuel nozzles (15) as follows:
(a) Apply the paraffin wax blend (Material No.P05-396) or theP05-395 beeswax (was: P06-015) to the two new EIPC 73-11-09-01-090 GASKET (2) or the new EIPC 73-11-09-01-120 GASKET (2) or the new EIPC 73-11-09-01-150 GASKET (2).
(b) Install the two gaskets (2) to the grooves of the No. 4 and No. 3 nozzle (15) bosses.
(c) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize to the threads of the six bolts (3).
1 For new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(d) Install the No. 4 and No. 3 nozzles (15) to the diffuser case bosses with the six bolts (3).
(e) TORQUE the six bolts (3) to between 60 and 45 lbf.in (0.68 and 0.51 m.daN )
in small increments and until the same torque indication holds.

in small increments and until the same torque indication holds.

(12) Install the No. 2, No. 1 and No. 18 fuel nozzles (1) as follows:

(a) Apply the paraffin wax blend (Material No.P05-396) or the P05-395 beeswax (was: P06-015) to the three new EIPC 73-11-09-01-090 GASKET (2) or the new EIPC 73-11-09-01-120 GASKET (2) or the new EIPC 73-11-09-01-150 GASKET (2).
(b) Install the three gaskets (2) to the grooves of the No. 2, No. 1 and No. 18 nozzle (1) bosses.
(c) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize to the threads of the nine bolts (3).
1 For new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(d) Install the No. 2, No. 1 and No. 18 nozzles (1) and the brackets (96), (97) and (98) to the diffuser case bosses with the nine bolts (3).
(e) TORQUE the nine bolts (3) to between 60 and 45 lbf.in (0.68 and 0.51 m.daN )
in small increments and until the same torque indication holds.

(13) Remove the fuel flow divider valve (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-03-000-801).
(14) Do a leak check of the fuel system as follows:
(a) Install the PWA211308 LEAK CHECK ADAPTER to the large B-nut on the fuel supply manifold (FS01).
(b) Pressurize the system to between 45 psi (3.1 bar) and 55 psi (3.8 bar) with air.
(d) Maintain pressure for five minutes.
(a) Install the PWA109773 AIRFLOW ADAPTER to the small B-nut on the fuel supply manifold (FS01).
(b) Pressurize the system to between 45 psi (3.1 bar) and 55 psi (3.8 bar) with air.
(d) Maintain pressure for five minutes.
(17) Tighten all the fuel nozzle supply manifold coupling nuts and the fuel supply tubes (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-49-400-803).
(18) Install the tube (FD01) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-61-01-400-801).
(19) Install the tubes (AP01), (AP13), (AP47), (AP49) and (AP04) (Ref. AMM TASK 75-25-49-400-802).
(20) Install the tube (LR40) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-61-01-400-801).
(21) Install the tubes (FL01), (FH02), (FH01) and (CP09) (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-02-400-801).
(22) Install the heat shield (108) as follows:
(a) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize to the threads of the five bolts (107).
1 For new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(b) Install the heat shield (108) to the diffuser case brackets with the five bolts (107).
(c) TORQUE the five bolts (107) to between 100 and 90 lbf.in (1.13 and 1.02 m.daN )

(23) Install the tubes (CP11) (120) and (CR11) (124) to the diffuser case bracket as follows:
(a) Install the tubes (CP11) (120) and (CR11) (124) to the active clearance control air valve (Ref. AMM TASK 75-24-01-400-801).
(b) Install the tubes (CP11) (120) and (CR11) (124) to the fuel manifold (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-02-400-801).
(c) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize to the threads of the four bolts (118).
1 For new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(d) Install the tubes (CP11) (120) and (CR11) (124) to the bracket (122) with the clamps (119) and (123) and the two bolts (118) fingertight.
(e) Install the tubes (CP11) (120) and (CR11) (124) to the diffuser case bracket with the clamps (121) and (123) and the two bolts (118).

(14) Do a leak check of the fuel system as follows:
(a) Install the PWA211308 LEAK CHECK ADAPTER to the large B-nut on the fuel supply manifold (FS01).
(b) Pressurize the system to between 45 psi (3.1 bar) and 55 psi (3.8 bar) with air.
NOTE: The use of nitrogen for this leak check is permitted.
(c) Apply the liquid leak detector alternate (Material No.P05-007) to all fuel systems connections, do not apply to adapter connections.(d) Maintain pressure for five minutes.
NOTE: No leakage is permitted at the joints.
(15) Do a second leak check of the fuel system as follows:(a) Install the PWA109773 AIRFLOW ADAPTER to the small B-nut on the fuel supply manifold (FS01).
(b) Pressurize the system to between 45 psi (3.1 bar) and 55 psi (3.8 bar) with air.
NOTE: The use of nitrogen for leak check is permitted.
(c) Apply the liquid leak detector alternate (Material No.P05-007) to all fuel systems connections, do not apply to adapter connections.(d) Maintain pressure for five minutes.

(i) Torque the tubes (CP11) (120) and (CR11) (124) to the fuel manifold (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-02-400-801).
CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO HOLD THE MATING PARTS WHEN YOU LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE TUBE OR HOSE NUTS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS CAUTION, YOU CAN TWIST OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TUBES OR HOSES.
(j) 1 TORQUE the B-nuts that connect the tube (CR25) (124) to the tube (CR26) (126) to between 225 and 200 lbf.in (2.54 and 2.26 m.daN )
, if necessary.2 TORQUE the B-nuts that connect the tube (CP25) (122) to the tube (CP26) (120) to between 375 and 340 lbf.in (4.24 and 3.84 m.daN )

(25) Install the oil manifold (170) as follows:
(a) Apply the

(b) Install the bracket (136) to the clevis with the bolt (137), bushing (138), spacers (139) and (135) and nut (134). See the sheet 1 of the figure:
(c) TORQUE the nut (134) to between 100 and 90 lbf.in (1.13 and 1.02 m.daN )
.(d) Install the connecting link (150) to the clevis with the bolt (149), the two bushings (153) and the nut (152) fingertight. See the sheet 2 of the figure:
(e) Install the clevis (151) to the connecting link (150) with the bolt (149) and the nut (152).
(f) TORQUE the two nuts (152) to between 195 and 175 lbf.in (2.20 and 1.98 m.daN )
.(g) Install the bracket (155) to the clevis with the bolt (156), pin (157) and nut (154).

.(k) Install the oil manifold (170) to the clevis (151), bracket (155) and bracket (158) with the ten bolts (172), the brackets (171) and (173) and the eight bolts (169) fingertight. See the sheet 3 of the figure:
(l) TORQUE the ten bolts (172) to between 100 and 90 lbf.in (1.13 and 1.02 m.daN )

(n) Safety the two bolts (149) with the (26) Install the tubes (LP50) and (LP52) (Ref. AMM TASK 79-21-02-400-801).
(27) Install the tube (LP56) (186) as follows:
(a) Apply the

(29) Install the manifold (LR40) (199) as follows:

(d) Install the seal (201) and manifold (LR40) (199) to the main gearbox with the three bolts (200) fingertight.
(e) Install the manifold (LR40) (199) to the tube (LR111) B-nut fingertight.
(f) Install the manifold (LR40) (199) to the bracket (198) and tube (FH02) with the clamp (202) and bolt (203).
(g) TORQUE the two bolts (203) to between 44 and 38 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.43 m.daN )
.(h) TORQUE the three bolts (200) to between 100 and 90 lbf.in (1.13 and 1.02 m.daN )

(31) Install the air cooling generator fuel/oil differential pressure sensor (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-42-400-804).
(32) Install the fuel/oil heat exchanger (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-42-400-802).
(33) Install the air cooling generator oil/oil heat exchanger (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-42-400-803).
(34) Install the exhaust ducts (AD01) and (AD02) (Ref. AMM TASK 79-21-11-400-802).
(35) Connect the wiring harness (WC11) at the P37 and P68 locations (Ref. AMM TASK 73-21-70-400-802).
(36) Install the wiring harness (WC05) (Ref. AMM TASK 77-21-61-400-802).
(37) Install the air starter (Ref. AMM TASK 80-11-01-400-801).
(38) Install the Environmental Control System (ECS) ducts that were removed to access the fuel nozzles.
(39) Examine the assembly for foreign objects, damage and correct assembly.
