   (1) Make sure that you did the procedure to prevent engine motoring and to stop the electrical supply to the Electronic Engine Control (EEC)

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

D. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the thrust reverser cowl-doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

4. Procedure
Subtask 77-21-61-420-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) (T5/T3) Wiring Harness (WC05)
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
CAUTION: DO NOT TORQUE THE STUD NUTS MORE THAN THE SPECIFIED TORQUE. IF YOU DO, YOU CAN DAMAGE OR BREAK THE STUDS.
   (1) Removal of the protection covers:
CAUTION: REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
     (a) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine.
   (2) Disconnect the wiring harness (WC10) connector (P110) from the wiring harness (W03) receptacle (J110) with a PLIERS - CONNECTOR, JAW, SOFT
NOTE: It is necessary to remove the wiring harness (WC10) to install the wiring harness (WC05).
   (3) Connect the wiring harness (WC05) connector (P43) to the wiring harness (WC10) receptacle (J43) as follows:
     (a) Examine, align and engage the connector.
     (b) Push lightly inward on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
     (c) Use the PLIERS - CONNECTOR, JAW, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
     (d) Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
     (e) While you tighten, push the connector from side to side.
     (f) Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - CONNECTOR, JAW, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
   (4) Connect the wiring harness (WC10) connector (P110) to the wiring harness (W03) receptacle (J110) as follows:
     (a) Examine, align and engage the connector.
     (b) Push lightly inward on the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
     (c) Use the PLIERS - CONNECTOR, JAW, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
     (d) Make sure you can feel the ratchet feature.
     (e) While you tighten, push the connector from side to side.
     (f) Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - CONNECTOR, JAW, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
   (5) Connect the harness (WC05) (1) to the T3 probe with the four nuts and install the harness to the mounting bracket with the two clamps and the two bolts:
     (a) TORQUE the large nuts to between 30 and 26 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.29 m.daN ) T.
     (b) TORQUE the small nuts to between 20 and 16 lbf.in (0.23 and 0.18 m.daN )
T.
     (c) Install the two clamps and the two bolts.
     (d) TORQUE the bolts to between 44 and 38 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.43 m.daN )
T.
   (6) Connect the harness (WC05) (1) to the two left and two right EGT T5 probes on the Turbine Exhaust Case (TEC) with the nuts:
     (a) TORQUE the large nut to between 30 and 26 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.29 m.daN ) T.
     (b) TORQUE the small nut to between 20 and 16 lbf.in (0.23 and 0.18 m.daN )
T.
   (7) Install the harness (WC05) (1) to the spring clips as follows:
     (a) Find the spring clips along the top side of the engine.
     (b) Carefully push the harness (WC05) (1) into the spring clips from the middle of the harness.
     (c) Adjust the harness (WC05) (1) in the spring clips to remove any stress.
     (d) Distribute the slack in the harness (WC05) (1) equally.
   (8) Examine the assembly for foreign objects, damage and correct assembly.
   (9) Installation of the protection covers:
CAUTION: INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
     (a) Make sure that you install COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-802):

   (1) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Make sure that all the circuit breakers shown in the paragraph Procedure of the engine interface unit installation are closed. If they are not, close them in the recommended sequence
(Ref. AMM TASK 73-25-34-400-802).

D. Test
   (1) Do the test No.6 - EEC - Idle test (Ref. AMM TASK 73-21-00-710-807).
