Removal of the Fuel Flow Divider
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE AFTER SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE CAN STAY HOT FOR A LONG TIME. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, INJURY CAN OCCUR.

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION:
DO NOT LET FUEL OR OIL FALL ON THE ENGINE. YOU MUST IMMEDIATELY REMOVE UNWANTED FUEL OR OIL WITH A CLOTH. THE FUEL OR OIL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO SOME ENGINE PARTS.

YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). D. Get Access

4. Procedure(1) Open the right thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

WARNING:
DO NOT GET FUEL IN YOUR MOUTH, EYES OR ON YOUR SKIN. DO NOT BREATHE THE FUMES FROM THE FUEL. KEEP THE FUEL AWAY FROM SPARKS, FLAME AND HEAT. FUEL IS POISONOUS AND FLAMMABLE, WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 73-11-03-680-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Drain the Engine Fuel System at the Fuel Manifold
(1) Put a CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) under the plug (3).
(2) Loosen the drain plug retention bolt (2) on fuel manifold.
(3) Turn the drain plug (3) to disengage the retention tab from under the retention bolt (2) and washer (1).
(4) Remove the drain plug (3):
(5) Drain the fuel into the CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL).
(6) Wipe the remaining fuel with a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) .
(7) Remove and discard the EIPC 73-11-02-01-280 PACKING (4) from the plug (3).
(8) ApplyP03-001 lubricant, aircraft turbine engine on a new EIPC 73-11-02-01-280 PACKING (4).
(9) Install the new EIPC 73-11-02-01-280 PACKING (4) to the plug (3).
(10) Install the drain plug (3):
(11) Make sure that the drain plug (33) is fully seated against the mating surface.
(12) Turn the drain plug (33) so the retention tab is under the retention bolt (2) and washer (1).
(13) TORQUE the drain plug retention bolt (2) to between 70 and 60 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.68 m.daN )

Subtask 73-11-03-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put a CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) under the plug (3).
(2) Loosen the drain plug retention bolt (2) on fuel manifold.
(3) Turn the drain plug (3) to disengage the retention tab from under the retention bolt (2) and washer (1).
(4) Remove the drain plug (3):
CAUTION:
DO NOT PRY ON THE RETENTION TAB TO REMOVE THE DRAIN PLUG. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE DRAIN PLUG CAN OCCUR.
(a) Hold the drain plug (3) by the square, turn and pull it as necessary to remove it from the fuel manifold. (5) Drain the fuel into the CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL).
(6) Wipe the remaining fuel with a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) .
(7) Remove and discard the EIPC 73-11-02-01-280 PACKING (4) from the plug (3).
(8) Apply
(9) Install the new EIPC 73-11-02-01-280 PACKING (4) to the plug (3).
(10) Install the drain plug (3):
CAUTION:
DO NOT PUSH ON THE RETENTION TAB TO INSTALL THE DRAIN PLUG. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE DRAIN PLUG CAN OCCUR.
(a) Hold the drain plug (3) at the square, press and turn the drain plug until it fully seats against the fuel manifold. (11) Make sure that the drain plug (33) is fully seated against the mating surface.
(12) Turn the drain plug (33) so the retention tab is under the retention bolt (2) and washer (1).
(13) TORQUE the drain plug retention bolt (2) to between 70 and 60 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.68 m.daN )
. B. Removal of the Fuel Flow Divider
(1) Find the fuel flow divider (16) located at approximately the 5 o'clock position, attached to the High Pressure Turbine (HPT) case. See the sheet 1 of the figure:
(2) Remove the fuel flow divider (16) from the HPT case as follows: See the sheets 1 and 2 of the figure:
(b) Disconnect the manifold (FM02) from the divider (16).
(c) Disconnect the tube (FD01) from the divider (16).
(d) Disconnect the fuel supply manifold (FS01) from the divider (16).
(e) Disconnect the wiring harness (WC08) connector (P46) from the divider receptacle (J46) with the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT.
(f) Loosen the clamp (17) from the hose.
(g) Disconnect the hose from the fuel flow divider (16).
(h) Remove the clamp (17) from the hose.
(i) Loosen the three captive bolts.
(j) Remove the fuel flow divider (16).
(3) Installation of protection covers
(1) Find the fuel flow divider (16) located at approximately the 5 o'clock position, attached to the High Pressure Turbine (HPT) case. See the sheet 1 of the figure:
(2) Remove the fuel flow divider (16) from the HPT case as follows: See the sheets 1 and 2 of the figure:
CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO HOLD THE MATING PARTS WHEN YOU LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE TUBE OR HOSE NUTS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS CAUTION, YOU CAN TWIST OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TUBES OR HOSES.
(a) Remove the clamp (14) and heat shield (15) from the fuel supply manifold (FM02). (b) Disconnect the manifold (FM02) from the divider (16).
(c) Disconnect the tube (FD01) from the divider (16).
(d) Disconnect the fuel supply manifold (FS01) from the divider (16).
(e) Disconnect the wiring harness (WC08) connector (P46) from the divider receptacle (J46) with the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT.
(f) Loosen the clamp (17) from the hose.
(g) Disconnect the hose from the fuel flow divider (16).
(h) Remove the clamp (17) from the hose.
(i) Loosen the three captive bolts.
(j) Remove the fuel flow divider (16).
(3) Installation of protection covers
CAUTION:
INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
(a) Make sure that you install COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
Removal of the Fuel Flow Divider - (Drain the Fuel)
