C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

   (1) Make sure that the thrust reverser cowl-doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

4. Procedure
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO HOLD THE MATING PARTS WHEN YOU LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE TUBE OR HOSE NUTS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS CAUTION, YOU CAN TWIST OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TUBES OR HOSES.
Subtask 73-11-49-420-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Fuel Nozzle Supply Tubes
   (1) Removal of the protection covers:
CAUTION: REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
     (a) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine.
   (2) Find and mark the notch located at the top (12 o'clock) position on the diffuser case with a MARKER - TEMPORARY, MEDIUM
   (3) Use the top position to identify the installation locations for each of the supply tubes.
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE THE TORQUE ADAPTER TO TIGHTEN THE TUBE NUTS. IF YOU DO NOT CALCULATE THE CORRECT TORQUE, YOU CAN TWIST OR DAMAGE THE TUBES.
   (4) If necessary, torque all of the B-nuts that follow with the PWA211624 .
   (5) Install the fuel tube (FS44) (3) to the No. 18 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS02) as follows:
     (a) Apply P03-001lubricant, aircraft turbine engine or Sealing Ring Lubricant (Material No.P06-053) to the two new EIPC 73-11-49-01-010 PACKINGS (1).
     (b) Install the two new packings (1) to the fuel tube (FS44) (3).
     (c) Install the fuel tube (FS44) (3) to the No. 18 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS02).
     (d) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )
T.
     (e) Loosen the B-nuts to zero.
     (f) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )
T.
NOTE: Do not loosen the B-nuts.
     (g) TORQUE the B-nuts again to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )
T.
   (6) Install the fuel tube (FS31) (2) to the No. 18 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS02) as follows:
     (a) Apply P03-001lubricant, aircraft turbine engine or Sealing Ring Lubricant (Material No.
P06-053) to the two new EIPC 73-11-49-01-050 PACKINGS (1).
     (b) Install the two new packings (1) to the fuel tube (FS31) (2).
     (c) Install the fuel tube (FS31) (2) to the No. 18 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS02).
     (d) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )
T.
     (e) Loosen the B-nuts to zero.
     (f) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )
T.
NOTE: Do not loosen the B-nuts.
     (g) TORQUE the B-nuts again to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )
T.
   (7) Install the fuel tube (FS44) (3) to the No. 1 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS02) as follows:
     (a) Apply P03-001lubricant, aircraft turbine engine or Sealing Ring Lubricant (Material No.P06-053) to the two new EIPC 73-11-49-01-290 PACKINGS (1).
     (b) Install the two new packings (1) to the fuel tube (FS44) (3).
     (c) Install the fuel tube (FS44) (3) to the No. 1 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS02).
     (d) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )
T.
     (e) Loosen the B-nuts to zero.
     (f) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )
T.
NOTE: Do not loosen the B-nuts.
     (g) TORQUE the B-nuts again to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )
T.
   (8) Install the fuel tube (FS31) (2) to the No. 1 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS02) as follows:
     (a) Apply P03-001lubricant, aircraft turbine engine or Sealing Ring Lubricant (Material No.
P06-053) to the two new EIPC 73-11-49-01-330 PACKINGS (1).
     (b) Install the two new packings (1) to the fuel tube (FS31) (2).
     (c) Install the fuel tube (FS31) (2) to the No. 1 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS02).
     (d) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )
T.
     (e) Loosen the B-nuts to zero.
     (f) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )
T.
NOTE: Do not loosen the B-nuts.
     (g) TORQUE the B-nuts again to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )

   (9) Install the fuel tube (FS44) (3) to the No. 2 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS02) as follows:
     (a) Apply P03-001lubricant, aircraft turbine engine or Sealing Ring Lubricant (Material No.
P06-053) to the two new EIPC 73-11-49-01-090 PACKINGS (1).
     (b) Install the two new packings (1) to the fuel tube (FS44) (3).
     (c) Install the fuel tube (FS44) (3) to the No. 1 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS02).
     (d) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )
T.
     (e) Loosen the B-nuts to zero.
     (f) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )
T.
NOTE: Do not loosen the B-nuts.
     (g) TORQUE the B-nuts again to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )

   (10) Install the fuel tube (FS31) (2) to the No. 2 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS02) as follows:

P06-053) to the two new EIPC 73-11-49-01-130 PACKINGS (1).
     (b) Install the two new packings (1) to the fuel tube (FS31) (2).
     (c) Install the fuel tube (FS31) (2) to the No. 1 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS02).
     (d) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )

     (e) Loosen the B-nuts to zero.
     (f) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )

     (a) Apply P03-001lubricant, aircraft turbine engine or Sealing Ring Lubricant (Material No.P06-053) to the two new EIPC 73-11-49-01-170 PACKINGS (1).
     (b) Install the two new packings (1) to the fuel tube (FS46) (14).
     (c) Install the fuel tube (FS46) (14) to the No. 3 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS02).
     (d) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )
T.
     (e) Loosen the B-nuts to zero.
     (f) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )
T.
NOTE: Do not loosen the B-nuts.
     (g) TORQUE the B-nuts again to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )

   (12) Install the fuel tube (FS47) (13) to the No. 4 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS01) as follows:
     (a) Apply P03-001lubricant, aircraft turbine engine or Sealing Ring Lubricant (Material No.
P06-053) to the two new EIPC 73-11-49-01-210 PACKINGS (1).
     (b) Install the two new packings (1) to the fuel tube (FS47) (13).
     (c) Install the fuel tube (FS47) (13) to the No. 4 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS01).
     (d) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )
T.
     (e) Loosen the B-nuts to zero.
     (f) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )
T.
NOTE: Do not loosen the B-nuts.
     (g) TORQUE the B-nuts again to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )

   (13) Install the fuel tube (FS47) (13) to the No. 5 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS01) as follows:
     (a) Apply P03-001lubricant, aircraft turbine engine or Sealing Ring Lubricant (Material No.
P06-053) to the two new EIPC 73-11-49-03-250 PACKINGS (1).
     (b) Install the two new packings (1) to the fuel tube (FS47) (13).
     (c) Install the fuel tube (FS47) (13) to the No. 5 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS01).
     (d) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )
T.
     (e) Loosen the B-nuts to zero.
     (f) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )
T.
NOTE: Do not loosen the B-nuts.
     (g) TORQUE the B-nuts again to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )

   (14) Install the fuel tube (FS49) (25) to the No. 6 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS01) as follows:
     (a) Apply P03-001lubricant, aircraft turbine engine or Sealing Ring Lubricant (Material No.P06-053) to the two new EIPC 73-11-49-03-100 PACKINGS (1).
     (b) Install the two new packings (1) to the fuel tube (FS49) (25).
     (c) Install the fuel tube (FS49) (25) to the No. 6 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS01).
     (d) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )
T.
     (e) Loosen the B-nuts to zero.
     (f) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )
T.
NOTE: Do not loosen the B-nuts.
     (g) TORQUE the B-nuts again to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )

   (15) Install the fuel tube (FS33) (24) to the No. 6 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS01) as follows:
     (a) Apply P03-001lubricant, aircraft turbine engine or Sealing Ring Lubricant (Material No.
P06-053) to the new EIPC 73-11-49-03-050 PACKINGS (1).
     (b) Install the two new packings (1) to the fuel tube (FS33) (24).
     (c) Install the fuel tube (FS33) (24) to the No. 6 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS01).
     (d) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )
T.
     (e) Loosen the B-nuts to zero.
     (f) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )
T.
NOTE: Do not loosen the B-nuts.
     (g) TORQUE the B-nuts again to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )

   (16) Install the fuel tube (FS49) (25) to the No. 7 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS01) as follows:
     (a) Apply P03-001lubricant, aircraft turbine engine or Sealing Ring Lubricant (Material No.P06-053) to the two new EIPC 73-11-49-03-090 PACKINGS (1).
     (b) Install the two new packings (1) to the fuel tube (FS49) (25).
     (c) Install the fuel tube (FS49) (25) to the No. 7 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS01).
     (d) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )
T.
     (e) Loosen the B-nuts to zero.
     (f) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )

NOTE: Do not loosen the B-nuts.

P06-053) to the two new EIPC 73-11-49-03-130 PACKINGS (1).
     (b) Install the two new packings (1) to the fuel tube (FS33) (24).
     (c) Install the fuel tube (FS33) (24) to the No. 7 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS01).
     (d) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )

     (e) Loosen the B-nuts to zero.
     (f) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )

P06-053) to the two new EIPC 73-11-49-03-170 PACKINGS (1).
     (b) Install the two new packings (1) to the fuel tube (FS49) (25).
     (c) Install the fuel tube (FS49) (25) to the No. 8 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS01).
     (d) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )
T.
     (e) Loosen the B-nuts to zero.
     (f) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )

P06-053) to the two new EIPC 73-11-49-02-210 PACKINGS (1).
     (b) Install the two new packings (1) to the fuel tube (FS33) (24).
     (c) Install the fuel tube (FS33) (24) to the No. 7 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS01).
     (d) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )
T.
     (e) Loosen the B-nuts to zero.
     (f) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )

     (b) Install the two new packings (1) to the fuel tube (FS49) (25).
     (c) Install the fuel tube (FS49) (25) to the No. 9 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS01).
     (d) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )
T.
     (e) Loosen the B-nuts to zero.
     (f) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )

P06-053) to the two new EIPC 73-11-49-02-290 PACKINGS (1).
     (b) Install the two new packings (1) to the fuel tube (FS33) (24).
     (c) Install the fuel tube (FS33) (24) to the No. 9 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS01).
     (d) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )
T.
     (e) Loosen the B-nuts to zero.
     (f) TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )
T.
NOTE: Do not loosen the B-nuts.
     (g) TORQUE the B-nuts again to between 250 and 225 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.54 m.daN )

   (22) Install the fuel tube (FS54) (36) to the No. 10 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS01) as follows:
     (a) Apply P03-001lubricant, aircraft turbine engine or Sealing Ring Lubricant (Material No.
P06-053) to the two new EIPC 73-11-49-02-010 PACKINGS (1).
     (b) Install the two new packings (1) to the fuel tube (FS54) (36).
     (c) Install the fuel tube (FS54) (36) to the No. 10 fuel nozzle and manifold (FS01).

PWA211308 LEAK CHECK ADAPTER to the large B-nut on the fuel supply manifold (FS01).
       2 Pressurize the system to 45 psi (3.103 bar) - 55 psi (3.792 bar) with air.
NOTE: It is permitted to use nitrogen for this leak check.
       3 Apply Leak Check fluid (Material No.P05-007) as follows:
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THERE ARE NO LEAKS. LEAKS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE PARTS.
         a Apply Leak Check fluid (Material No.P05-007) to all fuel systems connections, do not apply to adapter connections.
       4 Keep the pressure for five minutes.
     (k) Do a second leak check of the fuel system by the procedure that follows:
       1 Install the PWA109773 AIRFLOW ADAPTER to the small B-nut on the fuel supply manifold (FS01).
       2 Pressurize the system to 45 psi (3.103 bar) - 55 psi (3.792 bar) with air.
NOTE: It is permitted to use nitrogen for this leak check.
       3 Apply Leak Check fluid (Material No.P05-007) as follows:
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THERE ARE NO LEAKS. LEAKS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE PARTS.
         a Apply Leak Check fluid (Material No.P05-007) to all fuel systems connections, do not apply adapter connections.
       4 Keep the pressure for five minutes.
     (l) If you do not find leaks, install the fuel flow divider valve (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-03-400-801).
   (37) If necessary, install the AC Generator - Integrated Drive Generator (IDG) (Ref. AMM TASK 24-21-51-400-803).
   (38) If necessary, install the buffer air heat exchanger (Ref. AMM TASK 75-26-01-400-801).
   (39) Examine the assembly for foreign objects, damage, and correct assembly.
