Installation of the Turbine Cooling Air System

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance

YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). D. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the thrust reverser cowl-doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the thrust reverser cowl-doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 75-25-49-420-060-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Installation of the Turbine Cooling Air System
(2) Install the manifold (AP05) (3) on the High Pressure Turbine (HPT) and the High Pressure Compressor (HPC) cases as follows:
(a) Install the new EIPC 75-25-49-04-010 GASKET (6), new EIPC 75-25-49-04-020 GASKET (8) and new EIPC 75-25-49-04-030 GASKET (10) on the manifold (AP05) (3) with theP05-395 beeswax (was: P06-015) or the paraffin wax blend (Material No.P05-396) .
(b) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize on the threads of the three nuts (4), three bolts (9) and three bolts (13).
1 For the new or the refurbished bolts or the nuts with the baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(c) Install the manifold (AP05) (3) on the HPT boss with the three nuts (4) and tighten them with your hand.
(d) Install the manifold (AP05) (3) on the retainer with the three bolts (9) and tighten them with your hand.
(e) Install the manifold (AP05) (3) and the bracket (11) on the HPC boss with the three bolts (13) and tighten them with your hand.
(f) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize on the threads of the three bolts (12).
1 For the new or the refurbished bolts or the nuts with the baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(g) Attach the tubes (AA28), (AA01) and (AS33) and clamps to the bracket (11) with the three bolts (12) and tighten them with your fingers.
(h) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize on the threads of the two bolts (1).
1 For the new or the refurbished bolts or the nuts with the baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(i) Install the two bolts (1) on the two clamps (2) and tighten them with your hand.
(j) TORQUE the three nuts (4) to between 70 and 60 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.68 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds.
(k) TORQUE the three bolts (9) to between 195 and 175 lbf.in (2.20 and 1.98 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds.
(l) TORQUE the three bolts (13) to between 100 and 90 lbf.in (1.13 and 1.02 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds.
(m) TORQUE the two bolts (1) to between 44 and 38 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.43 m.daN )
.
(n) TORQUE the three bolts (12) to between 44 and 38 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.43 m.daN )
.
(o) Install the harness (WC05) on the spring clips on the manifold (AP05) (3).
(3) Install the tube (AP43) (26) on the manifold (AP05) and retainer as follows:
(a) Install the new EIPC 75-25-49-04-020 GASKET (8) on the tube (AP43) (26) with theP05-395 beeswax (was: P06-015) or the paraffin wax blend (Material No.P05-396) .
(b) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize on the threads of the three bolts (9).
1 For the new or the refurbished bolts or the nuts with the baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(c) Install the tube (AP43) (26) on the retainer with the three bolts (9) and tighten them with your hand.
(d) Connect the tube (AP43) (26) B-nut to the manifold (AP05).
(e) Torque the tube (AP43) (26) B-nut as follows:
1 TORQUE the B-nut to between 525 and 475 lbf.in (5.93 and 5.37 m.daN )
.
2 Loosen the B-nut to zero.
3 TORQUE the B-nut to between 525 and 475 lbf.in (5.93 and 5.37 m.daN )
.
a Do not loosen the B-nut.
4 TORQUE the B-nut again to between 525 and 475 lbf.in (5.93 and 5.37 m.daN )
.
(f) TORQUE the three bolts (9) to between 195 and 175 lbf.in (2.20 and 1.98 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds.
(4) Install the tube (AP14) (23) on the HPT and the diffuser cases as follows:
(a) Install the new EIPC 75-25-49-04-010 GASKET (6) and the new EIPC 75-25-49-04-250 GASKET (25) on the tube (AP14) (23) with theP05-395 beeswax (was: P06-015) or the paraffin wax blend (Material No.P05-396) .
(b) Apply theP03-001 lubricant, aircraft turbine engine (synthetic base) to the threads of the four nuts (24) and the three bolts (27).
(c) Install the tube (AP14) (23) with the four nuts (24) and three bolts (27).
(d) TORQUE the four nuts (24) to between 90 and 80 lbf.in (1.02 and 0.90 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds.
(e) TORQUE the three bolts (27) to between 60 and 50 lbf.in (0.68 and 0.57 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds.
P05-291 cable, safety , P05-292 ferrule, safety cable and INSTALLATION TOOL - CABLE.
(5) Install the Air/Oil Heat Exchanger (AOHX) (Ref. AMM TASK 79-21-11-400-802).
(6) Install the tube (AP11) (37) on the HPT and the diffuser cases as follows:
(a) Install the new EIPC 75-25-49-04-010 GASKET (6) and the new EIPC 75-25-49-04-250 GASKET (25) on the tube (AP11) (37) with theP05-395 beeswax (was: P06-015) or the paraffin wax blend (Material No.P05-396) .
(b) Apply theP03-001 lubricant, aircraft turbine engine (synthetic base) on the threads of the four nuts (24) and the three bolts (27).
(c) Install the tube (AP11) (37) with the four nuts (24) and three bolts (27).
(d) TORQUE the four nuts (24) to between 90 and 80 lbf.in (1.02 and 0.90 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds.
(e) TORQUE the three bolts (27) to between 60 and 50 lbf.in (0.68 and 0.57 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds.
P05-291 cable, safety , P05-292 ferrule, safety cable and INSTALLATION TOOL - CABLE.
(7) Install the tube (AP03) (53) on the HPT and the HPC cases as follows:
(a) Install the new EIPC 75-25-49-04-010 GASKET (6) and the new EIPC 75-25-49-03-220 GASKET (55) on the tube (AP03) (53) with theP05-395 beeswax (was: P06-015) or the paraffin wax blend (Material No.P05-396) .
(b) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize on the threads of the three nuts (4) and the three bolts (13).
1 For the new or the refurbished bolts or the nuts with the baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(c) Install the tube (AP03) (53) with the three nuts (3) and the three bolts (54) and tighten them with your hand.
(d) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize on the threads of the two bolts (1).
1 For the new or the refurbished bolts or the nuts with the baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(e) Install the two bolts (1) on the two clamps (54) and tighten them with your hand.
(f) TORQUE the three nuts (4) to between 70 and 60 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.68 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds.
(g) TORQUE the three bolts (13) to between 100 and 90 lbf.in (1.13 and 1.02 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds.
(h) TORQUE the two bolts (1) to between 44 and 38 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.43 m.daN )
.
(8) Install the Main Gearbox (MGB) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-61-01-400-801).
(9) Install the manifold (AP01) (66) on the HPT and the HPC as follows:
(a) Install the new EIPC 75-25-49-04-010 GASKET (6) and the new EIPC 75-25-49-03-220 GASKET (55) on the manifold (AP01) (66) with theP05-395 beeswax (was: P06-015) or the paraffin wax blend (Material No.P05-396) .
(b) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize on the threads of the three bolts (13) and the three nuts (4).
1 For the new or the refurbished bolts or the nuts with the baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(c) Install the manifold (AP01) (66) with the three bolts (13) and the three nuts (4) and tighten them with your hand.
(d) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize on the threads of the two bolts (1).
1 For the new or the refurbished bolts or the nuts with the baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(e) Install the clamp (67) on the manifold (AP01) (66) with the two bolts (1) and tighten them with your hand.
(f) TORQUE the three bolts (13) to between 100 and 90 lbf.in (1.13 and 1.02 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds.
(g) TORQUE the three nuts (4) to between 70 and 60 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.68 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds.
(h) TORQUE the two bolts (1) to between 44 and 38 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.43 m.daN )
.
(10) Install the tube (AP12) (69) on the HPT and the diffuser cases as follows:
(a) Install the new EIPC 75-25-49-04-010 GASKET (6) and the new EIPC 75-25-49-04-250 GASKET (25) on the tube (AP12) (69) with theP05-395 beeswax (was: P06-015) or the paraffin wax blend (Material No.P05-396) .
(b) Install the tube (AP12) (69) and the bracket (65) with the two bolts (27) and tighten them with your hand.
(c) Attach the grounding strap to the bracket (65) with the bolt (27).
(d) Apply theP03-001 lubricant, aircraft turbine engine (synthetic base) on the threads of the four nuts (68).
(e) Install the tube (AP12) (69) with the four nuts (68) and tighten them with your hand.
(f) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize on the threads of the bolt (12).
1 For the new or the refurbished bolts or the nuts with the baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(g) Attach the tube (DR131) and clamp to the bracket (65) with the bolt (12) and tighten them with your fingers.
(h) TORQUE the four nuts (68) to between 90 and 80 lbf.in (1.02 and 0.90 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds.
(i) TORQUE the three bolts (27) to between 60 and 50 lbf.in (0.68 and 0.57 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds.
P05-291 cable, safety , P05-292 ferrule, safety cable and INSTALLATION TOOL - CABLE.
(k) TORQUE the bolt (12) to between 44 and 38 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.43 m.daN )

(11) Install the manifold (AP47) (81) as follows:
Turbine Cooling Air System - Install the Tubes (AP02), (AP49), (AP48) and Manifold (AP47) ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(a) Install the new EIPC 75-25-49-04-020 GASKET (8) on the manifold (AP47) (81) with the P05-395 beeswax (was: P06-015) or the paraffin wax blend (Material No.P05-396) .
(b) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize on the threads of the three bolts (84).
1 For the new or the refurbished bolts or the nuts with the baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(c) Install the manifold (AP47) (81) and the brackets (82) and (83) on the retainer with the three bolts (84) and tighten them with your hand.
(d) Connect the manifold (AP47) (81) B-nut to the manifold (AP01) and tighten them with your fingers.
(e) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize on the threads of the bolt (12).
1 For the new or the refurbished bolts or the nuts with the baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(f) Attach the tube (LP41) and clamp to the bracket (82) with the bolt (12) and tighten them with your fingers.
(g) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize to the threads of the two bolts (12).
1 For the new or the refurbished bolts or the nuts with the baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(h) Install the two bolts (12) to the bracket (82) and the flange bracket.
(i) TORQUE the three bolts (84) to between 195 and 175 lbf.in (2.20 and 1.98 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds.
(j) TORQUE the three bolts (12) to between 44 and 38 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.43 m.daN )
.
(k) TORQUE the manifold (AP47) (81) B-nut to between 1050 and 950 lbf.in (11.87 and 10.74 m.daN )
.
(12) Install the tube (AP49) (40) on the retainer and manifold (AP01) as follows:
Turbine Cooling Air System - Install the Tubes (AP02), (AP49), (AP48) and Manifold (AP47) ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(a) Install the new EIPC 75-25-49-04-020 GASKET (8) on the tube (AP49) (40) with the P05-395 beeswax (was: P06-015) or the paraffin wax blend (Material No.P05-396) .
(b) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize on the threads of the three bolts (41).
1 For the new or the refurbished bolts or the nuts with the baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(c) Install the tube (AP49) (40) on the retainer with the three bolts (41) and tighten them with your hand.
(d) Connect the tube (AP49) (40) B-nut to the manifold (AP01) and tighten it with your fingers.
Turbine Cooling Air System - Install the Tubes (AP02), (AP49), (AP48) and Manifold (AP47) ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(e) TORQUE the three bolts (41) to between 195 and 175 lbf.in (2.20 and 1.98 m.daN )
in small increments and until the same torque indication holds.
(f) Torque the (AP49) (40) B-nut as follows:
Turbine Cooling Air System - Install the Tubes (AP02), (AP49), (AP48) and Manifold (AP47) ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
1 TORQUE the B-nut to between 750 and 675 lbf.in (8.48 and 7.63 m.daN )

2 Loosen the B-nut to zero torque.
3 TORQUE the B-nut to between 750 and 675 lbf.in (8.48 and 7.63 m.daN )

a Do not loosen the B-nut.
4 TORQUE the B-nut again to between 750 and 675 lbf.in (8.48 and 7.63 m.daN )
.
(13) Install the tube (AP04) (42) as follows:
(a) Install the new EIPC 75-25-49-03-100 GASKET (39) on the tube (AP04) (42) with theP05-395 beeswax (was: P06-015) or the paraffin wax blend (Material No.P05-396) .
(b) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize on the two bolts (43) and the two nuts (4).
1 For the new or the refurbished bolts or the nuts with the baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(c) Install the tube (AP04) (42) on the Low Pressure Turbine (LPT) boss with the two bolts (43) and the nuts (4) and tighten them with your hand.
(d) Connect the (AP04) (42) B-nut to the tube (AP49) (40).
(e) TORQUE the two nuts (4) to between 100 and 90 lbf.in (1.13 and 1.02 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds.
(f) TORQUE the tube (AP04) (42) B-nut to between 375 and 340 lbf.in (4.24 and 3.84 m.daN )
.
(14) Install the tube (AP48) (86) on the retainer and manifold (AP47) (81) as follows:
Turbine Cooling Air System - Install the Tubes (AP02), (AP49), (AP48) and Manifold (AP47) ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(a) Install the new EIPC 75-25-49-04-020 GASKET (8) on the tube (AP48) (86) with the P05-395 beeswax (was: P06-015) or the paraffin wax blend (Material No.P05-396) .
(b) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize on the threads of the three bolts (41).
1 For the new or the refurbished bolts or the nuts with the baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(c) Install the tube (AP48) (86) and the bracket (85) on the retainer with the three bolts (41) and tighten them with your hand.
(d) Connect the tube (AP48) (86) B-nut to the manifold (AP47) (81) and tighten them with your fingers.
(e) Install the tube (LP41) and clamp on the bracket (85) with the bolt (12) and tighten it with your fingers.
(f) TORQUE the three bolts (41) to between 195 and 175 lbf.in (2.20 and 1.98 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds.
(g) TORQUE the tube (AP48) (86) B-nut to between 525 and 475 lbf.in (5.93 and 5.37 m.daN )
.
(h) TORQUE the bolt (12) to between 44 and 38 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.43 m.daN )
.
(15) Install the tube (AP13) (97) on the HPT and diffuser cases as follows:
(a) Install the new EIPC 75-25-49-04-010 GASKET (6) and the new EIPC 75-25-49-01-150 GASKET (96) on the tube (AP13) (97) with theP05-395 beeswax (was: P06-015) or the paraffin wax blend (Material No.P05-396) .
(b) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize on the threads of the four nuts (68).
1 For the new or the refurbished bolts or the nuts with the baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(c) Install the tube (AP13) (97) with the three bolts (27) and the four nuts (68).
(d) TORQUE the three bolts (27) to between 60 and 50 lbf.in (0.68 and 0.57 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds.
P05-291 cable, safety , P05-292 ferrule, safety cable and INSTALLATION TOOL - CABLE.
(f) TORQUE the four nuts (68) to between 70 and 60 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.68 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds.
(16) Install the fuel flow transmitter (Ref. AMM TASK 73-31-21-400-801).
(17) Install the manifold (AP07) (98) on the HPC and HPT cases as follows:
Turbine Cooling Air System - Install the Manifold (AP07) and Tubes (AP02) and (AP44) ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(a) Install the new EIPC 75-25-49-04-010 GASKET (6) and the new EIPC 75-25-49-04-020 GASKET (8) on the manifold (AP07) (98) with the P05-395 beeswax (was: P06-015) or the paraffin wax blend (Material No.P05-396) .

(d) Install the manifold (AP07) (98) with the three nuts (24) and tighten them with your hand.
(e) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize to the threads of the three bolts (13) and the three bolts (9).

1 For the new or the refurbished bolts or the nuts with the baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(f) Install the three bolts (13) and the three bolts (9) on the manifold (AP07) (98) and tighten them with your hand.
(g) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize on the threads of the two bolts (12).
1 For the new or the refurbished bolts or the nuts with the baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(h) Install the two bolts (12) to the two clamps (2) and tighten them with your hand.
(i) TORQUE the three nuts (24) to between 90 and 80 lbf.in (1.02 and 0.90 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds.

(j) TORQUE the three bolts (9) to between 195 and 175 lbf.in (2.20 and 1.98 m.daN )

(k) TORQUE the three bolts (13) to between 100 and 90 lbf.in (1.13 and 1.02 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds.
(l) TORQUE the two bolts (12) to between 44 and 38 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.43 m.daN )

(18) Install the tube (AP44) (108) and the manifold (AP07) (98) as follows:

(c) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize on the threads of the three bolts (41).

(d) Install the tube (AP44) (108) on the retainer with the three bolts (41) and tighten them with your hand along with the mass flowmeter bracket (109).
(e) Connect the tube (AP44) (108) B-nut to the manifold (AP07) (98).
(f) TORQUE the tube (AP44) (108) B-nut to between 525 and 475 lbf.in (5.93 and 5.37 m.daN )

(g) TORQUE the three bolts (41) to between 195 and 175 lbf.in (2.20 and 1.98 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds.
(h) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize on the threads of the two bolts (40).

(i) Install the mass flow bracket on the N flange bracket with the two bolts (40) and tighten them with your hand.
(j) TORQUE the two bolts (40) to between 100 and 90 lbf.in (1.13 and 1.02 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds.
(19) Install the tube (AP02) (80) as follows:

(20) Install the tube (AP46) (118) on the manifold (AP07) and the retainer as follows:
(a) Install the new EIPC 75-25-49-04-020 GASKET (8) on the tube (AP46) (118) with theP05-395 beeswax (was: P06-015) or the paraffin wax blend (Material No.P05-396) .
(b) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize on the threads of the three bolts (9).

(c) Install the tube (AP46) (118) on the retainer with the three bolts (9) and tighten them with your hand.

(f) Install the bolt (12) on the clamp (119) and tighten it with your hand .
(g) TORQUE the three bolts (9) to between 195 and 175 lbf.in (2.20 and 1.98 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds.
(h) TORQUE the tube (AP46) (118) B-nut to between 525 and 475 lbf.in (5.93 and 5.37 m.daN )

(i) TORQUE the bolt (12) to between 44 and 38 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.43 m.daN )

(21) Install the tube (AP06) (120) on the LPT boss and the manifold (AP05) as follows:
(a) Install the new EIPC 75-25-49-03-100 GASKET (39) on the tube (AP06) (120) with theP05-395 beeswax (was: P06-015) or the paraffin wax blend (Material No.P05-396) .
(b) Apply theP06-054 compound, paste, anti-seize on the threads of the two bolts (122) and the two nuts (4).
1 For the new or the refurbished bolts or the nuts with the baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(c) Install the tube (AP06) (120) with the two bolts (122) and the two nuts (4) and tighten them with your hand.
(d) Connect the tube (AP06) (120) B-nut to the manifold (AP05).
(e) TORQUE the tube (AP06) (120) B-nut to between 375 and 340 lbf.in (4.24 and 3.84 m.daN )
.
(f) TORQUE the two bolts (122) to between 100 and 90 lbf.in (1.13 and 1.02 m.daN )
in small increments and until the same torque indication holds.
(22) Examine the assembly for the foreign objects, damage and correct assembly.
5. Close-upCAUTION:
REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine.(2) Install the manifold (AP05) (3) on the High Pressure Turbine (HPT) and the High Pressure Compressor (HPC) cases as follows:
(a) Install the new EIPC 75-25-49-04-010 GASKET (6), new EIPC 75-25-49-04-020 GASKET (8) and new EIPC 75-25-49-04-030 GASKET (10) on the manifold (AP05) (3) with the
(b) Apply the
1 For the new or the refurbished bolts or the nuts with the baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(c) Install the manifold (AP05) (3) on the HPT boss with the three nuts (4) and tighten them with your hand.
(d) Install the manifold (AP05) (3) on the retainer with the three bolts (9) and tighten them with your hand.
(e) Install the manifold (AP05) (3) and the bracket (11) on the HPC boss with the three bolts (13) and tighten them with your hand.
(f) Apply the

(g) Attach the tubes (AA28), (AA01) and (AS33) and clamps to the bracket (11) with the three bolts (12) and tighten them with your fingers.
(h) Apply the

(i) Install the two bolts (1) on the two clamps (2) and tighten them with your hand.
(j) TORQUE the three nuts (4) to between 70 and 60 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.68 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds. (k) TORQUE the three bolts (9) to between 195 and 175 lbf.in (2.20 and 1.98 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds. (l) TORQUE the three bolts (13) to between 100 and 90 lbf.in (1.13 and 1.02 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds. (m) TORQUE the two bolts (1) to between 44 and 38 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.43 m.daN )
. (n) TORQUE the three bolts (12) to between 44 and 38 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.43 m.daN )
. (o) Install the harness (WC05) on the spring clips on the manifold (AP05) (3).
(3) Install the tube (AP43) (26) on the manifold (AP05) and retainer as follows:
(a) Install the new EIPC 75-25-49-04-020 GASKET (8) on the tube (AP43) (26) with the
(b) Apply the
1 For the new or the refurbished bolts or the nuts with the baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(c) Install the tube (AP43) (26) on the retainer with the three bolts (9) and tighten them with your hand.
(d) Connect the tube (AP43) (26) B-nut to the manifold (AP05).
(e) Torque the tube (AP43) (26) B-nut as follows:
1 TORQUE the B-nut to between 525 and 475 lbf.in (5.93 and 5.37 m.daN )
. 2 Loosen the B-nut to zero.
3 TORQUE the B-nut to between 525 and 475 lbf.in (5.93 and 5.37 m.daN )
. a Do not loosen the B-nut.
4 TORQUE the B-nut again to between 525 and 475 lbf.in (5.93 and 5.37 m.daN )
. (f) TORQUE the three bolts (9) to between 195 and 175 lbf.in (2.20 and 1.98 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds. (4) Install the tube (AP14) (23) on the HPT and the diffuser cases as follows:
(a) Install the new EIPC 75-25-49-04-010 GASKET (6) and the new EIPC 75-25-49-04-250 GASKET (25) on the tube (AP14) (23) with the
(b) Apply the
(c) Install the tube (AP14) (23) with the four nuts (24) and three bolts (27).
(d) TORQUE the four nuts (24) to between 90 and 80 lbf.in (1.02 and 0.90 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds. (e) TORQUE the three bolts (27) to between 60 and 50 lbf.in (0.68 and 0.57 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds. WARNING:
USE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(f) Safety the three bolts (27) with the (5) Install the Air/Oil Heat Exchanger (AOHX) (Ref. AMM TASK 79-21-11-400-802).
(6) Install the tube (AP11) (37) on the HPT and the diffuser cases as follows:
(a) Install the new EIPC 75-25-49-04-010 GASKET (6) and the new EIPC 75-25-49-04-250 GASKET (25) on the tube (AP11) (37) with the
(b) Apply the
(c) Install the tube (AP11) (37) with the four nuts (24) and three bolts (27).
(d) TORQUE the four nuts (24) to between 90 and 80 lbf.in (1.02 and 0.90 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds. (e) TORQUE the three bolts (27) to between 60 and 50 lbf.in (0.68 and 0.57 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds. WARNING:

. (8) Install the Main Gearbox (MGB) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-61-01-400-801).
(9) Install the manifold (AP01) (66) on the HPT and the HPC as follows:
(a) Install the new EIPC 75-25-49-04-010 GASKET (6) and the new EIPC 75-25-49-03-220 GASKET (55) on the manifold (AP01) (66) with the

. (10) Install the tube (AP12) (69) on the HPT and the diffuser cases as follows:
(a) Install the new EIPC 75-25-49-04-010 GASKET (6) and the new EIPC 75-25-49-04-250 GASKET (25) on the tube (AP12) (69) with the
(b) Install the tube (AP12) (69) and the bracket (65) with the two bolts (27) and tighten them with your hand.
(c) Attach the grounding strap to the bracket (65) with the bolt (27).
(d) Apply the

(d) Install the tube (AP44) (108) on the retainer with the three bolts (41) and tighten them with your hand along with the mass flowmeter bracket (109).
(e) Connect the tube (AP44) (108) B-nut to the manifold (AP07) (98).
(f) TORQUE the tube (AP44) (108) B-nut to between 525 and 475 lbf.in (5.93 and 5.37 m.daN )
. (g) TORQUE the three bolts (41) to between 195 and 175 lbf.in (2.20 and 1.98 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds. (h) Apply the

(i) Install the mass flow bracket on the N flange bracket with the two bolts (40) and tighten them with your hand.
(j) TORQUE the two bolts (40) to between 100 and 90 lbf.in (1.13 and 1.02 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds. (19) Install the tube (AP02) (80) as follows:

(c) Install the tube (AP02) (80) with the two bolts (43) and the two nuts (4) and tighten them with your hand.
(d) Connect the tube (AP02) (80) B-nut to the manifold (AP07) (98).

(f) Install the bolt (12) on the clamp (119) and tighten it with your hand .
(g) TORQUE the three bolts (9) to between 195 and 175 lbf.in (2.20 and 1.98 m.daN )
in small increments until the same torque indication holds. (h) TORQUE the tube (AP46) (118) B-nut to between 525 and 475 lbf.in (5.93 and 5.37 m.daN )
. (i) TORQUE the bolt (12) to between 44 and 38 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.43 m.daN )
. (21) Install the tube (AP06) (120) on the LPT boss and the manifold (AP05) as follows:
(a) Install the new EIPC 75-25-49-03-100 GASKET (39) on the tube (AP06) (120) with the

(e) TORQUE the tube (AP06) (120) B-nut to between 375 and 340 lbf.in (4.24 and 3.84 m.daN )
. (f) TORQUE the two bolts (122) to between 100 and 90 lbf.in (1.13 and 1.02 m.daN )
in small increments and until the same torque indication holds. (22) Examine the assembly for the foreign objects, damage and correct assembly.
