A. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
(2) Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is on the ground service connection to tell persons not to pressurize:

(2) Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is on the ground service connection to tell persons not to pressurize:
- The Green hydraulic system
- The Yellow hydraulic system.
- Make sure that the landing-gear control-lever 6GA is in the DOWN position
- Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is below the applicable MLG lockstay at zone 731 or 741.
(2) Make sure that the aircraft is lifted on jacks (Ref. AMM TASK 07-11-00-581-001).
(3) Make sure that the applicable hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(4) Make sure that the applicable hydraulic reservoirs are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(5) Make sure that the isolation coupling of the PTU is disconnected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
Subtask 32-11-17-865-051-A (1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is below the applicable MLG lockstay at zone 731 or 741.
(2) Make sure that the aircraft is lifted on jacks (Ref. AMM TASK 07-11-00-581-001).
(3) Make sure that the applicable hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(4) Make sure that the applicable hydraulic reservoirs are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(5) Make sure that the isolation coupling of the PTU is disconnected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).

D. Flight Configuration Precautions
(1) If you did not open the LGCIU circuit breakers, make sure that the electrical circuits are de-energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).

A. Preparation for a Replacement Component
(1) Apply a layer of Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) to the interfaces of:

(4) Align the proximity-sensor bracket (27) on the lock stay and install these parts:

(6) Install the proximity sensor (7) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-73-400-001).

(1) Align the target bracket (4) and the bracket (8) on the lock stay and install these parts:

(4) Align the proximity-sensor bracket (27) on the lock stay and install these parts:
(6) TORQUE the bolt (29) to between 0.19 and 0.13 m.daN (16.81 and 11.50 lbf.in )

(7) Install the proximity sensor (7) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-73-400-001).
(8) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay Landing Gear (Material No.06AAC5) to the areas around:

- the bolts (10), (14) and (15)
- the washers (2) and (5)
- the nuts (3) and (6).

(6) TORQUE the bolt (29) to between 0.19 and 0.13 m.daN (16.81 and 11.50 lbf.in )

(8) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay Landing Gear (Material No.06AAC5) to the areas around:
- the target bracket (4)
- the proximity-sensor bracket (27)
- the bracket (8)
- the proximity sensor (7)
- the head of the bolts (10), (14), (15) and (29)
- the nuts (3), (6), (25) and (31).
A. Preparation for the Replacement Component
(1) Align the target bracket (4) and the bracket (8) on the lockstay and install the items that follow:

(3) TORQUE the nuts (3) to between 0.75 and 0.60 m.daN (66.37 and 53.10 lbf.in )

(4) Align the proximity-sensor bracket (27) on the lockstay and install the items that follow:
(6) TORQUE the nut (31) to between 0.192 and 0.124 m.daN (16.99 and 10.97 lbf.in )

(7) Install the proximity sensor (7) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-73-400-001).
(8) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay Landing Gear (Material No.06AAC5) to the areas around:
Subtask 32-11-17-420-052-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Align the target bracket (4) and the bracket (8) on the lockstay and install the items that follow:
- The bolts (10), (14) and (15)
- The washers (2) and (5)
- The new AIPC 32-11-16-50-080 NUTS (3) or AIPC 32-11-85-95-270 NUTS (3)
- The new AIPC 32-11-16-50-110 NUT (6) or AIPC 32-11-85-95-300 NUT (6).
. (3) TORQUE the nuts (3) to between 0.75 and 0.60 m.daN (66.37 and 53.10 lbf.in )
. (4) Align the proximity-sensor bracket (27) on the lockstay and install the items that follow:
- The bolt (28), the washer (26) and the new AIPC 32-11-16-51-130 NUT (25) or AIPC 32-11-85-95-130 NUT (25)
- The bolt (29), the washer (30) and the new AIPC 32-11-16-51-130 NUT (31) or AIPC 32-11-85-95-130 NUT (31).
(6) TORQUE the nut (31) to between 0.192 and 0.124 m.daN (16.99 and 10.97 lbf.in )
. (7) Install the proximity sensor (7) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-73-400-001).
(8) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay Landing Gear (Material No.06AAC5) to the areas around:
- The target bracket (4)
- The proximity-sensor bracket (27)
- The bracket (8)
- The proximity sensor (7)
- The head of the bolts (10), (14), (15) and (29)
- The nuts (3), (6), (25) and (31).
B. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(2) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(4) Lubricate these parts with Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-Landing Gear Wheel Bearing Lithium Thickened - (Material No.03GCB1) :
Subtask 32-11-17-420-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(2) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(4) Lubricate these parts with Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-Landing Gear Wheel Bearing Lithium Thickened - (Material No.03GCB1) :
- The cardan joint
- The plain shank of the pins (16), (40), (41) and (33)
- The bores of the lock stay and the side stay
- The bore of the lock-stay actuating-cylinder eye-end.
NOTE: For lubricant grease specification and lubrication requirements, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 12-22-00-00).
C. Installation of the MLG Lock Stay
(1) Make sure that the side stay is safetied in position, the weight of the side stay is 54.8 kg (120.8 lb).
(2) Hold and align the lock-stay eye end (18) with the cardan joint.
(3) Install the spacers (1), the washer (17), the pin (16), the washer (19) and the nut (20).
. Tighten the nut (20), no more than 4.2 m.daN (30.97 lbf.ft) to align the cotter-pin hole.
(7) Safety the nut (20) with a new AIPC 32-11-17-01-150 COTTER-PIN (21).
(8) TORQUE the nut (47) to between 4.2 and 3.6 m.daN (30.97 and 26.55 lbf.ft )
and safety with a new AIPC 32-11-18-01-080 COTTER-PIN (46).
(9) TORQUE the nut (45) to between 0.95 and 0.8 m.daN (84.07 and 70.80 lbf.in )
and safety with a new AIPC 32-11-18-01-030 COTTER-PIN (44).
(10) Remove the safety device from the lock-stay actuating-cylinder.
(11) Align the lock-stay actuating-cylinder eye-end with the actuating-cylinder attachment lugs and install these parts:
and safety with a new AIPC 32-11-17-01-030 COTTER-PIN (36).
(13) Remove the safety device from the side stay.
(14) Connect the locksprings at the top attachment (Ref. AMM TASK 32-11-19-400-003).
(15) Put the clips (11) on the electrical cable (9) and put the electrical cable (9) on the bracket (8).
(16) Install the washers (12) and the bolts (13).
(17) Remove the blanking caps and connect the electrical cable (9) to the proximity sensor (7).
(18) Do the dimensional check of the proximity sensors on the lock stay (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-73-200-001).
(19) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) to:
Subtask 32-11-17-420-052-E ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the side stay is safetied in position, the weight of the side stay is 54.8 kg (120.8 lb).
(2) Hold and align the lock-stay eye end (18) with the cardan joint.
(3) Install the spacers (1), the washer (17), the pin (16), the washer (19) and the nut (20).
NOTE: Install the pin (16) with the head of the pin aft.
(4) Align the lower lock-link with the side-stay attachment lugs and install these parts: - The washers (38)
- The washer (39)
- The pin (40), with the head of the pin aft
- The washer (48)
- The nut (47).
- The washers (42)
- The pin (41), with the head of the pin aft
- The washer (43)
- The nut (45).
. Tighten the nut (20), no more than 4.2 m.daN (30.97 lbf.ft) to align the cotter-pin hole. (7) Safety the nut (20) with a new AIPC 32-11-17-01-150 COTTER-PIN (21).
(8) TORQUE the nut (47) to between 4.2 and 3.6 m.daN (30.97 and 26.55 lbf.ft )
and safety with a new AIPC 32-11-18-01-080 COTTER-PIN (46). (9) TORQUE the nut (45) to between 0.95 and 0.8 m.daN (84.07 and 70.80 lbf.in )
and safety with a new AIPC 32-11-18-01-030 COTTER-PIN (44). (10) Remove the safety device from the lock-stay actuating-cylinder.
(11) Align the lock-stay actuating-cylinder eye-end with the actuating-cylinder attachment lugs and install these parts:
- The washers (37)
- The washer (32)
- The pin (33), with the head of the pin aft
- The washer (34)
- The nut (35).
and safety with a new AIPC 32-11-17-01-030 COTTER-PIN (36). (13) Remove the safety device from the side stay.
(14) Connect the locksprings at the top attachment (Ref. AMM TASK 32-11-19-400-003).
(15) Put the clips (11) on the electrical cable (9) and put the electrical cable (9) on the bracket (8).
(16) Install the washers (12) and the bolts (13).
(17) Remove the blanking caps and connect the electrical cable (9) to the proximity sensor (7).
(18) Do the dimensional check of the proximity sensors on the lock stay (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-73-200-001).
(19) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) to:
- The ends of the cardan joint
- The ends of the pins (16), (40), (41) and (33)
- The nuts (3), (6), (20), (25), (31), (45), (47) and (35)
- The washers (2), (5), (17), (19), (26), (30), (39), (43), (48), (32) and (34)
- The heads of the bolts (10), (14) and (15).
NOTE: For lubricant grease specification and lubrication requirements, refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 12-22-00-00).
D. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Petroleum Based - (Material No.08BBB1) .
(2) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(4) Apply Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) to:
Subtask 32-11-17-420-050-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Petroleum Based - (Material No.08BBB1) .
(2) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(4) Apply Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) to:
- The chromium plated diameter of the cardan joint
- The external diameter of the pins (16), (33), (40) and (41).
- The threads of the pin (16)
- The bolts (13).
- The connector of the electrical cable (9)
- The threads of the bolts (13).
E. Installation of the MLG Lock Stay
(1) Make sure that the side-stay is safetied in position.
(3) Install the items that follow:
. Torque the nut (20) to 4.2 m.daN (30.97 lbf.ft) maximum to align the cotter pin hole.
(7) Safety the nut (20) with a new AIPC 32-11-17-01-150 COTTER-PIN (21) or AIPC 32-11-85-96-150 COTTER PIN (21).
(8) TORQUE the nut (47) to between 4.2 and 3.6 m.daN (30.97 and 26.55 lbf.ft )
.
(9) safety the nut (47) with a new AIPC 32-11-18-01-080 COTTER-PIN (46) or AIPC 32-11-85-97-080 COTTER PIN (46).
(10) TORQUE the nut (45) to between 0.95 and 0.80 m.daN (84.07 and 70.80 lbf.in )
.
(11) Safety the nut (45) with a new AIPC 32-11-18-01-140 COTTER PIN (44) or AIPC 32-11-85-97-140 COTTER PIN (44) .
(12) Remove the safety device from the lockstay actuating-cylinder.
(13) Align the lockstay actuating-cylinder eye-end with the actuating-cylinder attachment lugs and install the items that follow:

(15) Safety the nut (35) with a new AIPC 32-11-17-01-030 COTTER-PIN (36) or AIPC 32-11-85-96-030 COTTER PIN (36).
(16) Remove the safety device from the side-stay.
(17) Connect the locksprings at the top attachment (Ref. AMM TASK 32-11-19-400-003).
(18) Put the clips (11) on the electrical cable (9) in position on the bracket (8).
(19) Install the washers (12) and the bolts (13).
(20) TORQUE the bolts (13) to between 0.45 and 0.4 m.daN (39.82 and 35.40 lbf.in )
.
(21) Remove the blanking caps and connect the electrical cable (9) to the proximity sensor (7).
(22) Do the dimensional check of the proximity sensors on the lockstay (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-73-200-001).
(23) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay Landing Gear (Material No.06AAC5) to:
(25) Use Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) to lubricate the lockstay through the greasers.
Subtask 32-11-17-860-052-A (1) Make sure that the side-stay is safetied in position.
NOTE: The weight of the side-stay is 54.8 kg (120.8 lb).
(2) Hold and align the lockstay eye end (18) with the cardan joint. (3) Install the items that follow:
- The spacers (1)
- The washer (17)
- The pin (16), with the head of the pin aft
- The washer (19) and

. Torque the nut (20) to 4.2 m.daN (30.97 lbf.ft) maximum to align the cotter pin hole. (7) Safety the nut (20) with a new AIPC 32-11-17-01-150 COTTER-PIN (21) or AIPC 32-11-85-96-150 COTTER PIN (21).
(8) TORQUE the nut (47) to between 4.2 and 3.6 m.daN (30.97 and 26.55 lbf.ft )
. (9) safety the nut (47) with a new AIPC 32-11-18-01-080 COTTER-PIN (46) or AIPC 32-11-85-97-080 COTTER PIN (46).
(10) TORQUE the nut (45) to between 0.95 and 0.80 m.daN (84.07 and 70.80 lbf.in )
. (11) Safety the nut (45) with a new AIPC 32-11-18-01-140 COTTER PIN (44) or AIPC 32-11-85-97-140 COTTER PIN (44) .
(12) Remove the safety device from the lockstay actuating-cylinder.
(13) Align the lockstay actuating-cylinder eye-end with the actuating-cylinder attachment lugs and install the items that follow:
- The washers (37)
- The washer (32)
- The pin (33)
- The washer (34)
- The new AIPC 32-11-17-01-040 NUT (35) or AIPC 32-11-85-96-040 NUT (35).
. (15) Safety the nut (35) with a new AIPC 32-11-17-01-030 COTTER-PIN (36) or AIPC 32-11-85-96-030 COTTER PIN (36).
(16) Remove the safety device from the side-stay.
(17) Connect the locksprings at the top attachment (Ref. AMM TASK 32-11-19-400-003).
(18) Put the clips (11) on the electrical cable (9) in position on the bracket (8).
(19) Install the washers (12) and the bolts (13).
(20) TORQUE the bolts (13) to between 0.45 and 0.4 m.daN (39.82 and 35.40 lbf.in )
. (21) Remove the blanking caps and connect the electrical cable (9) to the proximity sensor (7).
(22) Do the dimensional check of the proximity sensors on the lockstay (Ref. AMM TASK 32-31-73-200-001).
(23) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Interfay Landing Gear (Material No.06AAC5) to:
- The head of the pin (40)
- The nuts (20), (35), (45) and (47)
- The washers (19) and (48)
- The cotter pin (21).
(25) Use Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Clay Thickened - (Material No.03GBB1) to lubricate the lockstay through the greasers.
F. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Pressurize the hydraulic reservoirs (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
(4) Connect the isolation coupling of the PTU (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-002).
Subtask 32-11-17-865-052-A (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Pressurize the hydraulic reservoirs (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
(4) Connect the isolation coupling of the PTU (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-002).
G. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):
