MAKE SURE THAT THE FLIGHT CONTROL SAFETY-LOCKS AND THE WARNING NOTICES ARE IN POSITION.

MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
(2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in the cockpit on the panel 30VU, to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic systems.
(3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is on the panel 114VU, to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat controls.
Subtask 36-11-48-860-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
(2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in the cockpit on the panel 30VU, to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic systems.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(2) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is installed on the flap/slat control lever on panel 114VU.
(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position below the applicable access panels.
(4) Make sure that the applicable access panels are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-004), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-005):
(a) For the left wing: 521AB, 521BB, 521CB, 521DB, 521EB, and 521BT.
(b) For the right wing: 621AB, 621BB, 621CB, 621DB, 621EB, and 621BT.
Subtask 36-11-48-865-064-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Make sure that the slats are fully extended (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-866-004). (2) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is installed on the flap/slat control lever on panel 114VU.
(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position below the applicable access panels.
(4) Make sure that the applicable access panels are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-004), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-005):
(a) For the left wing: 521AB, 521BB, 521CB, 521DB, 521EB, and 521BT.
(b) For the right wing: 621AB, 621BB, 621CB, 621DB, 621EB, and 621BT.
WARNING:
OPEN CIRCUIT BREAKERS 1JH, 2JH1, 2JH2, 3JH1 AND 3JH2 (ENGINE 1 AND 2 IGNITION SYSTEMS).
THEN OPEN CIRCUIT BREAKERS 2KS1 AND 2KS2 (FADEC A AND EIU 1 AND 2) AND 4KS1 (FADEC B AND EIU 1).
IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS SEQUENCE, THE ENGINE AUTOMATIC IGNITION- SYSTEM WILL OPERATE. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL.
(5) Open circuit breakers: C. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

NOTE: When you install the ducts, make sure that the dimension X stays constant plus or minus 2.0 mm (0.08 in.). This dimension must be checked around the full circumference of the duct.
Subtask 36-11-48-420-088-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Remove the blanking caps from the bleed air ducts and the anti-ice valve.
(2) Clean the component interfaces as follows:
(a) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(4) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(5) For the right wing only, do the steps that follow:
(a) Examine the IDG cables and pylon forward fitting for signs of damage. Replace worn components as necessary:
Subtask 36-11-48-420-089-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the blanking caps from the bleed air ducts and the anti-ice valve.
(2) Clean the component interfaces as follows:

- for the pylon forward fitting (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-17-000-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 54-51-17-400-001).
B. Installation of the Bleed Air Ducts between the Pylon and the Anti-ice Valve
(1) Put the duct assembly (154) in position.
(2) Install the insulation gasket (157), the washers (156) and the bolts (155).
(3) Connect the bonding straps (145) and (155) with the bolt (152), the washer (151) and the nut (150) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(4) Carefully put the duct assembly (170) through the vapor seal (160) and into position with the duct assembly (154).
(5) Install the clamp (158).
(6) TORQUE the clamp (158) to between 0.51 and 0.39 m.daN (45.13 and 34.51 lbf.in )
.
(7) Make sure that the clamp (158) is installed in the correct position.
(8) Tighten the vapor seal (160) around the duct assembly (170).
14QFB1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy - .
(10) Put the half clamps (168) and (169) into position on the duct assembly (170). Put the washers (162) and (163) between the half clamps (168) and (169). Install the bolts (164) and the nuts (161).
(11) Adjust the quantity of washers (162) and (163) until the duct assembly (170) is tightly held by the half clamps (168) and (169).
(12) Put the link assemblies of the half clamp (168) in position and install:
(15) Install the duct assembly (146) into the flexible connector (148).
(16) Connect the bonding strap (145) to the duct assembly (146) with:
(18) If this is the only bleed-air duct that you removed, then:
(a) Install the clamp (121).
(b) Apply a layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Soft Film - (Material No.12ACC1) to the clamp (121).
(19) Apply a layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Soft Film - (Material No.12ACC1) to these items:
Subtask 36-11-48-420-090-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the duct assembly (154) in position.
(2) Install the insulation gasket (157), the washers (156) and the bolts (155).
(3) Connect the bonding straps (145) and (155) with the bolt (152), the washer (151) and the nut (150) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(4) Carefully put the duct assembly (170) through the vapor seal (160) and into position with the duct assembly (154).
(5) Install the clamp (158).
(6) TORQUE the clamp (158) to between 0.51 and 0.39 m.daN (45.13 and 34.51 lbf.in )
. (7) Make sure that the clamp (158) is installed in the correct position.
(8) Tighten the vapor seal (160) around the duct assembly (170).
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(9) Safety the vapor seal (160) with (10) Put the half clamps (168) and (169) into position on the duct assembly (170). Put the washers (162) and (163) between the half clamps (168) and (169). Install the bolts (164) and the nuts (161).
(11) Adjust the quantity of washers (162) and (163) until the duct assembly (170) is tightly held by the half clamps (168) and (169).
(12) Put the link assemblies of the half clamp (168) in position and install:
- The bolts (166)
- The washers (167)
- The nuts (165).
- The new AIPC 36-11-05-07-120 SEAL (147) or the new AIPC 36-11-85-01-440 SEAL (147)
- The new AIPC 36-11-05-07-120 SEAL (149) or the new AIPC 36-11-85-01-440 SEAL (149).
(15) Install the duct assembly (146) into the flexible connector (148).
(16) Connect the bonding strap (145) to the duct assembly (146) with:
- The bolt (144)
- The washer (143)
- The nut (142) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(18) If this is the only bleed-air duct that you removed, then:
(a) Install the clamp (121).
(b) Apply a layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Soft Film - (Material No.12ACC1) to the clamp (121).
(19) Apply a layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Soft Film - (Material No.12ACC1) to these items:
- The washers (156) and the bolts (155)
- The clamp (158)
- The nuts (161), the washers (162) and (163) and the bolts (164)
- The nuts (165), the washers (167) and the bolts (166).
C. Installation of the Bleed Air Ducts between the Closing Rib and the Pylon
(1) Put the insulation gasket (110) and the duct assembly (104) in position.
(2) Install the bolts (101), the facing washers (102), the insulation washers (103) and the nuts (100).
(3) Install the cable support bracket (109) with:

(6) TORQUE the clamp (111) to between 0.79 and 0.56 m.daN (69.91 and 49.56 lbf.in )

(7) Make sure that the clamp (111) is installed in the correct position.
(8) Install the clamp (123).
(9) Tighten the clamp (123).
(10) Install the clamp (121).
(11) TORQUE the clamp (121) to between 0.51 and 0.39 m.daN (45.13 and 34.51 lbf.in )
.
(12) Make sure that the clamp (121) is installed in the correct position.
(13) Put the structural rods (114), (115) and (116) in position on the duct assembly (113).
(14) Install the bolts (119), the washers (120) and the nuts (118).
(15) Tighten the nuts (118).
(16) Safety the nuts (118) with the new AIPC 36-11-05-07-170 COTTER PINS (117) or the new AIPC 36-11-85-01-510 COTTER PINS (117).
(17) For the RH wing only, do the steps that follow:
(b) Install the bolts (124) and the nuts (125).
(c) Put the cable carrier (131) in position on the bracket (126).
(d) Install the bolts (130) and the nuts (132).
(e) If necessary, connect the IDG feeder cables (Ref. AMM TASK 24-92-00-400-002).
(20) If these are the only bleed air ducts that you removed:
(a) Connect the bonding leads (86) and (94) with the bolt (91), the washer (92) and the nut (93) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
Subtask 36-11-48-420-091-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the insulation gasket (110) and the duct assembly (104) in position.
(2) Install the bolts (101), the facing washers (102), the insulation washers (103) and the nuts (100).
(3) Install the cable support bracket (109) with:
- The facing washers (108)
- The bolts (107)
- The insulation washers (106)
- The nuts (105).
(5) Install the clamp (111).
(6) TORQUE the clamp (111) to between 0.79 and 0.56 m.daN (69.91 and 49.56 lbf.in )
. (7) Make sure that the clamp (111) is installed in the correct position.
(8) Install the clamp (123).
(9) Tighten the clamp (123).
(10) Install the clamp (121).
(11) TORQUE the clamp (121) to between 0.51 and 0.39 m.daN (45.13 and 34.51 lbf.in )
. (12) Make sure that the clamp (121) is installed in the correct position.
(13) Put the structural rods (114), (115) and (116) in position on the duct assembly (113).
(14) Install the bolts (119), the washers (120) and the nuts (118).
(15) Tighten the nuts (118).
(16) Safety the nuts (118) with the new AIPC 36-11-05-07-170 COTTER PINS (117) or the new AIPC 36-11-85-01-510 COTTER PINS (117).
(17) For the RH wing only, do the steps that follow:
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE IDG CABLES DO NOT TOUCH THE PYLON FITTING. IF THE IDG CABLES TOUCH THE PYLON FITTING, DAMAGE WILL OCCUR TO THE CABLES AND/OR PYLON FITTING.
(a) Install the bracket (126), the bolts (129), the washers (128) and the nuts (127). (b) Install the bolts (124) and the nuts (125).
(c) Put the cable carrier (131) in position on the bracket (126).
(d) Install the bolts (130) and the nuts (132).
(e) If necessary, connect the IDG feeder cables (Ref. AMM TASK 24-92-00-400-002).
NOTE: You must make sure the cable carrier (131) and the IDG cables are correctly positioned. This is to give the sufficient clearance between the IDG cables and the pylon fittings after duct the installation.
(f) Apply a layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Soft Film - (Material No.12ACC1) to: - The nuts (127), the washers (128) and the bolts (129)
- The bolts (124) and the nuts (125)
- The bolts (130) and the nuts (132).
- The nuts (100), the bolts (101), the facing washers (102) and the insulation washers (103)
- The nuts (105), the insulation washers (106), the facing washers (108) and the bolts (107)
- The clamps (111), (121) and (123)
- The nuts (118), the bolts (119) and the washers (120).
(20) If these are the only bleed air ducts that you removed:
(a) Connect the bonding leads (86) and (94) with the bolt (91), the washer (92) and the nut (93) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
D. Installation of the Bleed Air Ducts between the Intermediate Rib and the Closing Rib
(2) Carefully put the duct assembly (82) through the tube assemblies (80) and (81). Put into position with the duct assembly (104).
(3) Connect the bonding lead (86) with the bolt (83), the washer (85) and the nut (84) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(4) Connect the bonding lead (86) and (94) with the bolt (91), the washer (92) and the nut (93) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
Subtask 36-11-48-420-092-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: You must not install the duct assembly (77) before the bleed-air ducts between the slat track 1 and the intermediate rib.
(1) Install a new two-piece AIPC 36-11-05-12-230 SEAL (87) or AIPC 36-11-85-01-180 SEAL (87) in the duct assembly (82) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-26-00-910-002). (2) Carefully put the duct assembly (82) through the tube assemblies (80) and (81). Put into position with the duct assembly (104).
(3) Connect the bonding lead (86) with the bolt (83), the washer (85) and the nut (84) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(4) Connect the bonding lead (86) and (94) with the bolt (91), the washer (92) and the nut (93) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
E. Installation of the Bleed Air Ducts between the Slat Track 1 and the Intermediate Rib
(2) Install the duct assembly (25).
(3) Install the bolts (32), the facing washers (33) and the insulation washers (34).
(4) Connect the bonding straps (30) and (31) with the bolt (27), the washer (29) and the nut (28) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(5) Install a new two-piece AIPC 36-11-05-11-220 SEAL (35) or AIPC 36-11-85-01-180 SEAL (35) in the duct assembly (44) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-26-00-910-002).
(6) Carefully put the duct assembly (44) through the tube assembly (43) and into position with the duct assembly (25).
(7) Install the rib assembly (46) with the bolts (47) and the nuts (48).
(8) Install a new two-piece AIPC 36-11-05-11-220 SEAL (59) or AIPC 36-11-85-01-180 SEAL (59) and a new two-piece AIPC 36-11-05-11-220 SEAL (60) or AIPC 36-11-85-01-180 SEAL (60) in the connector assembly (55) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-26-00-910-002).
(9) Install the connector assembly (55) into the intermediate rib and the duct assembly (44).
(10) Install the bolts (56), the facing washers (57) and the insulation washers (58).
(11) Connect the bonding strap (30) to the duct assembly (44) with:

(17) Install the clamps (75) and (79) and TORQUE to between 0.79 and 0.56 m.daN (69.91 and 49.56 lbf.in )

(18) Make sure that the clamps (75) and (79) are installed in the correct positions.
(19) Connect the bonding straps (62) and (63) to the sleeve assembly (76) with:
Subtask 36-11-48-420-093-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: You must not install the bleed-air ducts (between the slat track 1 and the intermediate rib) before you fit the duct assembly (82).
(1) Put the tube assembly (26) into position on the aircraft. (2) Install the duct assembly (25).
(3) Install the bolts (32), the facing washers (33) and the insulation washers (34).
(4) Connect the bonding straps (30) and (31) with the bolt (27), the washer (29) and the nut (28) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(5) Install a new two-piece AIPC 36-11-05-11-220 SEAL (35) or AIPC 36-11-85-01-180 SEAL (35) in the duct assembly (44) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-26-00-910-002).
(6) Carefully put the duct assembly (44) through the tube assembly (43) and into position with the duct assembly (25).
(7) Install the rib assembly (46) with the bolts (47) and the nuts (48).
(8) Install a new two-piece AIPC 36-11-05-11-220 SEAL (59) or AIPC 36-11-85-01-180 SEAL (59) and a new two-piece AIPC 36-11-05-11-220 SEAL (60) or AIPC 36-11-85-01-180 SEAL (60) in the connector assembly (55) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-26-00-910-002).
(9) Install the connector assembly (55) into the intermediate rib and the duct assembly (44).
(10) Install the bolts (56), the facing washers (57) and the insulation washers (58).
(11) Connect the bonding strap (30) to the duct assembly (44) with:
- the bolt (36)
- the washer (38)
- the nut (37) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
- the bolt (39)
- the washer (41)
- the nut (40) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).

(16) Install the duct assembly (77).
(17) Install the clamps (75) and (79) and TORQUE to between 0.79 and 0.56 m.daN (69.91 and 49.56 lbf.in )
. (18) Make sure that the clamps (75) and (79) are installed in the correct positions.
(19) Connect the bonding straps (62) and (63) to the sleeve assembly (76) with:
- the bolt (64)
- the washer (66)
- the nut (65) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
- bolts (32) and washers (33) and (34)
- bolts (47) and nuts (48)
- bolts (56) and washers (57) and (58)
- clamps (75) and (79).
F. Installation of the Bleed Air Ducts between the Slat Track 1 and the Fuselage
(1) Remove the blanking cap from the bleed-air duct in the fuselage.
(2) Put the duct assembly (1) in position.
(3) Install the clamp (3) and TORQUE to between 0.79 and 0.56 m.daN (69.91 and 49.56 lbf.in )

(4) Put the link assembly (10) in position on the bleed-air duct (1).
(5) Install the facing washer (8) and the insulation washer (9) on the bolt (14).
(6) Install the bolt (14), the insulation washer (13), the facing washer (11) and the nut (12).
(7) Put the bleed-air duct (5) in position.
(8) Install the clamps (4) and (6) and TORQUE to between 0.79 and 0.56 m.daN (69.91 and 49.56 lbf.in )

(9) Apply a layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Soft Film - (Material No.12ACC1) to these items:

G. Leak Test
(1) Do a leak test of the applicable bleed-air ducts (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-00-720-004) and (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-00-720-005).
