A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start engine 1(2).
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred a minimum of five minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) On the ENG section of overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC GND PWR 1(2).
   (4) Obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work on the fuel system (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).

B. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER IS LOCKED. IF NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE REVERSER.
   (1) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-481-041).

B. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser

   (2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
   (3) Remove the cotter pins (1) and discard them.
   (4) Remove the nuts (2) and the washers (3).
   (5) Remove the bolts (4) and the rods (5).

H. Disconnection of the Fuel/Defuel System Components

   (1) Put the CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL) in position, below the fuel connections.
   (2) Disconnect the fuel recirculation check-valve at RIB7 (Ref. AMM TASK 28-16-42-000-001).
   (3) Disconnect the fuel line coupling at RIB4:
     (a) Remove the nut (19) and the bolt (2) from the clamp (17).
     (b) Disconnect the bonding straps (18) and (20).
     (c) Remove the clamp (17) from the pipe (1).
     (d) Remove the nuts (16), the bolts (10) and the clamps (11).
     (e) Disengage and move up the sleeves (9) from the pipe (1).
     (f) Remove the pipe (1) from the fuel pipe assemblies (15) and (21):
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
       1 Remove and discard the lockwire from the connectors (7) and the nuts (6) and (8).
       2 Loosen the nuts (6) and (8).
       3 Remove the nuts (6) and (8) and the connectors (7).
       4 Remove the pipe (1) from the fuel pipe assemblies (15) and (21).
       5 Remove and discard the retaining rings (5) and the O-rings (3) and (4) from the pipe (1).
       6 Put the blanking plugs on the disconnected line ends.
     (g) Remove and discard the retaining rings (12) from the fuel pipe assemblies (15) and (21).
     (h) Remove and discard the O-rings (13) and (14) from the fuel pipe assemblies (15) and (21).
     (i) Put the blanking caps on the disconnected fuel pipe assemblies (15) and (21).
4. Procedure
Subtask 54-51-17-481-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Dynamometric Adaptor and Jack
F Dynamometric Adaptor and Jack ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Install the support plate (31) of the 98A54403024003 ADAPTOR-DYNAMOMETRIC AT RIB 1 with the screws (34), washers (35) and the nuts (36).
   (2) Put the JACK - 500 DAN (1124 LBF), ADJUSTABLE (33) in position, below the attach fitting at RIB1.
   (3) Install the adaptor load cell (32) of the 98A54403024003 ADAPTOR-DYNAMOMETRIC AT RIB 1 on the JACK - 500 DAN (1124 LBF), ADJUSTABLE (33).
   (4) Apply a minimum force of 300 +100 kg or -100 kg (661.3866 +220.4622 lb or -220.4622 lb).

B. Removal of the Pylon-to-Wing Forward-Attach Fitting
NOTE: If more than one hour is necessary to finish this task, then the installation of the 98D54403000000 DUMMY SHACKLES-PYLON TO WING YOKES and the 98D54403001000 DUMMY SLEEVES-PYLON TO WING YOKES is necessary.
   (1) Remove the cotter pins (28) and discard them.
   (2) Lock the bolts (23) with the 98D54503000000 PYLON REMOVAL-WRENCH.
   (3) Remove the nuts (27) with the 98D54503000000 PYLON REMOVAL-WRENCH.
   (4) Remove the bolts (23).
   (5) Lock the sleeves (24) with the 98D54503000000 PYLON REMOVAL-WRENCH.
   (6) Remove the nuts (26) with the 98D54503000000 PYLON REMOVAL-WRENCH.
   (7) Remove the lockwashers (25) and discard it.
   (8) Remove the sleeves (24) with the extractor 98D54003005000 PYLON SHAFT EXTRACTOR RIB4-RIB10 at the bottom first.
   (9) Remove the shackles (29).
   (10) Increase the force continuously and equally until you can remove the sleeve.
