   (1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Fully extend the slats (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-866-004).
   (2) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is installed on the flap/slat control lever.
   (3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the slats.
   (4) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable access panel 521HB(621HB).

A. Removal of the Access Panel 521HB(621HB)
NOTE: The access panel (1) is attached to the wing skin with two different lengths of screw. Make a record of the position of each screw as it is removed.
   (1) Hold the access panel (1) and remove the screws as follows:
  • the screw (2)
  • the seven screws (3).
   (2) Carefully remove the access panel (1).
