A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to start engine 1(2).
(2) On the ENG section of overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC GND PWR 1(2).
(3) Make sure that you obeyed the instructions of the fuel safety procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(4) Make sure that the aircraft is stable (Ref. AMM TASK 05-57-00-200-001).
Subtask 54-51-17-010-061-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

(a) For the left pylon, at zones 410 and 470
(b) For the right pylon, at zones 420 and 480.
(2) Make sure that the pylon-to-wing access panels are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-002):
(a) For the left pylon: 414FR 471AL and 472AR
(b) For the right pylon: 423FL 481AL and 482AR.
(3) Make sure that the access panels are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-009) (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-011):
(a) For the left wing: 521BT and 521HB
(b) For the right wing: 621BT and 621HB.

4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is in position:
(a) For the left pylon, at zones 410 and 470
(b) For the right pylon, at zones 420 and 480.
(2) Make sure that the pylon-to-wing access panels are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 54-53-11-000-002):
(a) For the left pylon: 471AL 471BL 471AR and 471BR
(b) For the right pylon: 481AL 481BL 481AR and 481BR.
(3) Make sure that the access panels are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-009) (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-011):

A. Preparation before Installation

(1) Clean the parts from the removed components with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(2) Before installation, make sure that the nuts (26) or (27) are in the correct condition. If necessary, replace the AIPC 54-51-17-01-040 NUTS (26) or the AIPC 54-51-17-01-030 NUTS (27).
(3) If installed, remove the 98D54403000000 DUMMY SHACKLES-PYLON TO WING YOKES and the 98D54403001000 DUMMY SLEEVES-PYLON TO WING YOKES.

Forward Pylon-to-Wing Attach Fitting ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (2) Before installation, make sure that the nuts (26) or (27) are in the correct condition. If necessary, replace the AIPC 54-51-17-01-040 NUTS (26) or the AIPC 54-51-17-01-030 NUTS (27).
(3) If installed, remove the 98D54403000000 DUMMY SHACKLES-PYLON TO WING YOKES and the 98D54403001000 DUMMY SLEEVES-PYLON TO WING YOKES.
B. Installation of the Pylon-to-Wing Forward Attach-Fitting
Forward Pylon-to-Wing Attach Fitting ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
Forward Pylon-to-Wing Attach Fitting ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(1) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) to the sleeves, the spigot and all the friction surfaces.
(2) Put the shackles (29) in position.
(3) Install the sleeves (24). Install the top sleeves first.
(4) To easily install the sleeves (24), change the force that the jack (3) applies to the attach fitting.
(6) Install the nuts (26).
(7) Lock the sleeves (24) with the 98D54503000000 PYLON REMOVAL-WRENCH.
(8) Use the 98D54503000000 PYLON REMOVAL-WRENCH and a torque wrench to:
(a) TORQUE the nuts (26) to between 5 and 4 m.daN (36.87 and 29.50 lbf.ft )
.
(9) Safety the nuts (26) with the lockwashers (25).
(10) Install the bolts (23).
(11) Lock the bolts (23) with the 98D54503000000 PYLON REMOVAL-WRENCH.
(12) Install the nuts (27) with the 98D54503000000 PYLON REMOVAL-WRENCH.
(13) TORQUE the nuts (27) to between 5 and 4 m.daN (36.87 and 29.50 lbf.ft )

(14) Safety the nuts (27) with the AIPC 54-51-17-01-020 COTTER PINS (28).

Forward Pylon-to-Wing Attach Fitting ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
Forward Pylon-to-Wing Attach Fitting ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (2) Put the shackles (29) in position.
(3) Install the sleeves (24). Install the top sleeves first.
(4) To easily install the sleeves (24), change the force that the jack (3) applies to the attach fitting.
NOTE: The installation positions of the nuts, the cotter pins and the lockwashers are:
(5) Install the new AIPC 54-51-17-01-050 LOCKWASHERS (25). - For the upper attachments, in the outer side of the pylons (always symmetrically to the pylon centerline)
- For the inner attachments, in the inner side of the pylons (always symmetrically to the pylon centerline
(6) Install the nuts (26).
(7) Lock the sleeves (24) with the 98D54503000000 PYLON REMOVAL-WRENCH.
(8) Use the 98D54503000000 PYLON REMOVAL-WRENCH and a torque wrench to:
(a) TORQUE the nuts (26) to between 5 and 4 m.daN (36.87 and 29.50 lbf.ft )
. (9) Safety the nuts (26) with the lockwashers (25).
(10) Install the bolts (23).
(11) Lock the bolts (23) with the 98D54503000000 PYLON REMOVAL-WRENCH.
(12) Install the nuts (27) with the 98D54503000000 PYLON REMOVAL-WRENCH.
(13) TORQUE the nuts (27) to between 5 and 4 m.daN (36.87 and 29.50 lbf.ft )
. (14) Safety the nuts (27) with the AIPC 54-51-17-01-020 COTTER PINS (28).
C. Removal of the Dynamometric Adaptor and Jack below the Attach Fitting
(1) Remove the force applied to the JACK - 500 DAN (1124 LBF), ADJUSTABLE (33).
(2) Remove the adaptor load cell (32) of the 98A54403024003 ADAPTOR-DYNAMOMETRIC AT RIB 1.
(3) Remove the nuts (36), the washers (35), the screws (34) and the support plate
(31) of the 98A54403024003 ADAPTOR-DYNAMOMETRIC AT RIB 1.
(4) Remove the 98A54403024003 ADAPTOR-DYNAMOMETRIC AT RIB 1 and the JACK - 500 DAN (1124 LBF), ADJUSTABLE (33).
5. Close-up(1) Remove the force applied to the JACK - 500 DAN (1124 LBF), ADJUSTABLE (33).
(2) Remove the adaptor load cell (32) of the 98A54403024003 ADAPTOR-DYNAMOMETRIC AT RIB 1.
(3) Remove the nuts (36), the washers (35), the screws (34) and the support plate
(31) of the 98A54403024003 ADAPTOR-DYNAMOMETRIC AT RIB 1.
(4) Remove the 98A54403024003 ADAPTOR-DYNAMOMETRIC AT RIB 1 and the JACK - 500 DAN (1124 LBF), ADJUSTABLE (33).

A. Connection of the Fuel/Defuel System Components
Fuel Junction in the Pylon ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
Fuel Junction in the Pylon ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(2) Connect the fuel line coupling at RIB4:
(a) Remove the blanking caps from the disconnected fuel pipe assemblies (15) and (21).
(b) Apply Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) on the new AIPC 28-21-06-01-070 O-RING (14), AIPC 28-21-06-01-170 O-RING (13), AIPC 28-21-06-01-070 O-RING (3) and AIPC 28-21-06-01-170 O-RING (4).
(c) Install the new O-rings (13) and (14) on the fuel pipe assemblies (15) and (21).
(d) Install the new AIPC 28-21-06-01-110 RETAINING RINGS (12) on the fuel pipe assemblies (15) and (21).
(e) Install the pipe (1) on the fuel pipe assemblies (15) and (21):
1 Remove the blanking plugs from the disconnected line ends.
2 Install the new O-rings (3) and (4) on the pipe (1).
3 Install the new AIPC 28-21-06-01-180 RETAINING RINGS (5) on the pipe (1).
4 Align the pipe (1) with the fuel pipe assemblies (15) and (21).
5 Make sure that clearance A1 between the fuel pipe assembly (15) and the pipe (1) is 5 +3 mm or -3 mm (0.1969 +0.1181 in. or -0.1181 in.).
6 Make sure that clearance A1 between the fuel pipe assembly (21) and the pipe (1) is 5 +3 mm or -3 mm (0.1969 +0.1181 in. or -0.1181 in.).
7 Install the nuts (6) and (8) on the pipe (1) and fuel pipe assemblies (15) and (21).
8 Put and hold the connectors (7) in the correct position.
9 Tighten the nuts (6) and (8) with your hand.
14QFB1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy - .
(f) Move the sleeves (9) down.
(g) Put the clamps (11) in position.
(h) Install the bolts (10).
(i) Install the nuts (16) and tighten them.
(j) Install the clamp (17) on the pipe (1).
(k) Do the electrical bonding of the clamp (17) at the applicable location (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(l) Put the bonding straps (18) and (20) in position.
(m) Install the bolt (2) on the clamp (17).
(n) Install the nut (19) and tighten it.
(3) Connect the fuel recirculation check-valve at RIB7 (Ref. AMM TASK 28-16-42-400-001).

Fuel Junction in the Pylon ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
EXTREME CARE MUST BE EXERCISED WHEN INSTALLING THE O-RING SEALS. MISALIGNMENT CAN CAUSE DAMAGE WHICH CAN LEAD TO FUEL LEAKS.
(1) Make sure that the CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL) is in position, below the fuel connections. (2) Connect the fuel line coupling at RIB4:
(a) Remove the blanking caps from the disconnected fuel pipe assemblies (15) and (21).
(b) Apply Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) on the new AIPC 28-21-06-01-070 O-RING (14), AIPC 28-21-06-01-170 O-RING (13), AIPC 28-21-06-01-070 O-RING (3) and AIPC 28-21-06-01-170 O-RING (4).
(c) Install the new O-rings (13) and (14) on the fuel pipe assemblies (15) and (21).
(d) Install the new AIPC 28-21-06-01-110 RETAINING RINGS (12) on the fuel pipe assemblies (15) and (21).
(e) Install the pipe (1) on the fuel pipe assemblies (15) and (21):
1 Remove the blanking plugs from the disconnected line ends.
2 Install the new O-rings (3) and (4) on the pipe (1).
3 Install the new AIPC 28-21-06-01-180 RETAINING RINGS (5) on the pipe (1).
4 Align the pipe (1) with the fuel pipe assemblies (15) and (21).
5 Make sure that clearance A1 between the fuel pipe assembly (15) and the pipe (1) is 5 +3 mm or -3 mm (0.1969 +0.1181 in. or -0.1181 in.).
6 Make sure that clearance A1 between the fuel pipe assembly (21) and the pipe (1) is 5 +3 mm or -3 mm (0.1969 +0.1181 in. or -0.1181 in.).
7 Install the nuts (6) and (8) on the pipe (1) and fuel pipe assemblies (15) and (21).
8 Put and hold the connectors (7) in the correct position.
9 Tighten the nuts (6) and (8) with your hand.
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
10 Safety the nuts (6) and (8) on the connectors (7) with the (f) Move the sleeves (9) down.
(g) Put the clamps (11) in position.
(h) Install the bolts (10).
(i) Install the nuts (16) and tighten them.
(j) Install the clamp (17) on the pipe (1).
(k) Do the electrical bonding of the clamp (17) at the applicable location (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(l) Put the bonding straps (18) and (20) in position.
(m) Install the bolt (2) on the clamp (17).
(n) Install the nut (19) and tighten it.
(3) Connect the fuel recirculation check-valve at RIB7 (Ref. AMM TASK 28-16-42-400-001).
B. Installation of the Temperature Sensor and Rods

(6) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(7) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(8) Connect electrical connector 6HA1 (6HA2) to the temperature sensor (6).
