Installation of the Access Panel

A. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the slats are fully extended (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-866-004).
(2) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is installed on the flap/slat control lever.
(3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the slats.
(4) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE is in position below the applicable access panel 521HB(621HB).
Subtask 57-41-37-865-094-A (1) Make sure that the slats are fully extended (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-866-004).

Subtask 57-41-37-210-065-A
A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Use a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean:
(4) Apply Release Agent-- Liquid Wax - (Material No.14DBB1) to the mating surfaces of the access panel (1).
(5) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
Subtask 57-41-37-420-065-A (1) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Use a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean:
- the interface of the aircraft structure
- the mating surfaces of the access panel (1).
(4) Apply Release Agent-- Liquid Wax - (Material No.14DBB1) to the mating surfaces of the access panel (1).
(5) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
B. Installation of the Access Panel 521HB(621HB)
(2) Hold the access panel (1) in position.
(3) Loosely install the screws (2) and (3) in their correct position.
(4) Make sure that the clearance J1 between the access panel (1) and the nose skin is 1.5 -1 mm or +1 mm (0.0591 -0.0394 in. or +0.0394 in.). Make sure that the clearance J1 is the same all along the length of the access panel (1).
(5) Tighten the screws (2) and (3) gradually.
(6) Fill the clearance J1 between the access panel (1) and the lower wing skin panel with Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet 120 degre Celsius (Material No.06ABB2) . Make sure that you fill the width of the pylon rib only.
5. Close-upNOTE: The access panel is attached to the wing skin with screws of two different lengths.
(1) Make sure that the screws are installed in their correct position.(2) Hold the access panel (1) in position.
(3) Loosely install the screws (2) and (3) in their correct position.
(4) Make sure that the clearance J1 between the access panel (1) and the nose skin is 1.5 -1 mm or +1 mm (0.0591 -0.0394 in. or +0.0394 in.). Make sure that the clearance J1 is the same all along the length of the access panel (1).
(5) Tighten the screws (2) and (3) gradually.
(6) Fill the clearance J1 between the access panel (1) and the lower wing skin panel with Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet 120 degre Celsius (Material No.06ABB2) . Make sure that you fill the width of the pylon rib only.

C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Remove the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION from the flap/slat control lever.
(2) Retract the slats (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-866-005).
