(a) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).

Subtask 78-37-01-040-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
MAKE SURE YOU DEPRESSURIZED THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM. IF YOU LOOSEN A HYDRAULIC TUBE FITTING WHEN THERE IS PRESSURE IN THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM, YOU CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)(a) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
(b) Make sure that the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(2) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)
(a) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
(b) Make sure that the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
D. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Ground Maintenance
Subtask 78-37-01-010-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805). E. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the applicable thrust-reverser cowl-door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

Subtask 78-37-01-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Installation of the TRAS Track Lock
(2) Installation of the TRAS track lock (1) on the left thrust reverser door
(a) Put the TRAS track lock (1) in position in the latch beam.

1 Attach the TRAS track lock (1) to the latch beam with the three bolts (6) and the three washers (5).
2 TORQUE the bolts (6) to between 90 and 81 lbf.in (1.02 and 0.92 m.daN )

1 Attach the TRAS track lock (1) to the latch beam with the two bolts (6) and the two washers (5).
2 Attach the TRAS track lock (1) and the pin guard (7) to the latch beam with the bolt (6).
3 TORQUE the bolts (6) to between 90 and 81 lbf.in (1.02 and 0.92 m.daN )

(d) Clean the bolt (4), washers (2) and (3), grounding strap lug and the mating surface of the TRAS track lock (1) with a clean cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) made moist with acetone (Material No.PU2-0002) or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803).
(e) Remove the acetone (Material No.PU2-0002) with a dry, clean cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) before the solvent becomes dry.
(f) Attach the grounding strap lug and the TRAS track lock (1) on the latch beam with the bolt (4) and the washers (2) and (3).
(g) TORQUE the bolt (4) to between 90 and 81 lbf.in (1.02 and 0.92 m.daN )
.
(h) Make sure that the resistance between the grounding strap lug and the TRAS track lock (1) is 0.0100 ohm or less. If the resistance is too high, remove the bolt (4), washers (2) and (3) and grounding strap lug and do Steps 4.A.(2).(g) thru 4.A.(2).(k) again.
(i) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the control tube, aft return tube, return tube and TRAS track lock (1).
(j) Apply a thin layer of lubricant (Material No.PU6-0003) to the threads of the control tube, aft return tube and return tube fittings.
(k) Connect the control tube to the TRAS track lock (1).
(l) TORQUE the fitting on the control tube to between 245 and 215 lbf.in (2.77 and 2.43 m.daN )
.
(m) Connect the aft return tube to the TRAS track lock (1).
(n) TORQUE the fitting on the aft return tube to between 190 and 170 lbf.in (2.15 and 1.92 m.daN )
.
(o) Connect the return tube to the TRAS track lock (1).
(p) TORQUE the fitting on the return tube to between 190 and 170 lbf.in (2.15 and 1.92 m.daN )
.
(q) Remove the CAP - PROTECTION from the left TRAS monitoring harness connectors (4038KS-A) and (4046KS-A) and the TRAS track lock (1).
(r) Connect the connectors as follows:
1 Connect the left TRAS monitoring harness (4038KS-A) and (4046KS-A) to the TRAS track lock (1).
2 Tighten the connectors with your fingers.
3 Then tighten the connectors 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn more with PLIERS - NOSE, SOFT, LONG (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-61-400-811).
(s) Install the track lock cover (2) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-38-400-801).
(3) Installation of the TRAS track lock (11) on the right thrust reverser
(a) Put the TRAS track lock (11) in position in the latch beam.

(b) Do the following:
1 Attach the TRAS track lock (11) to the latch beam with the three bolts (13) and the three washers (12).

1 Attach the TRAS track lock (11) to the latch beam with the two bolts (13) and the two washers (12).
2 Attach the TRAS track lock (11) and the pin guard (17) to the latch beam with the bolt (13).
3 TORQUE the bolts (13) to between 90 and 81 lbf.in (1.02 and 0.92 m.daN )

(d) Clean the bolt (16), washers (14) and (15), grounding strap lug and the mating surface of the TRAS track lock (11) with a clean cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) made moist with acetone (Material No.PU2-0002) or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803).
1 Remove the acetone (Material No.PU2-0002) with a dry clean cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) before the solvent becomes dry.
(e) Attach the grounding strap lug and the TRAS track lock (11) to the latch beam with the bolt (16) the and washers (14) and (15).
1 TORQUE the bolt (16) to between 90 and 81 lbf.in (1.02 and 0.92 m.daN )
.
(f) Make sure that the resistance between the grounding strap lug and the TRAS track lock (11) is 0.0100 ohms or less. If the resistance is too high, remove the bolt (16), washers (14) and (15) and grounding strap lug and do Steps 4.A.(3)(g) thru 4.A.(3)(i) again.
(g) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the control tube, aft return tube, return tube and TRAS track lock (11).
(h) Apply a thin layer of lubricant (Material No.PU6-0003) to the threads of the control tube, aft return tube and return tube fittings.
(i) Connect the control tube to the TRAS track lock (11).
1 TORQUE the fitting on the control tube to between 245 and 215 lbf.in (2.77 and 2.43 m.daN )
.
(j) Connect the return tube to the TRAS track lock (11).
1 TORQUE the fitting on the return tube to between 190 and 170 lbf.in (2.15 and 1.92 m.daN )
.
(k) Connect the aft return tube to the TRAS track lock (11).
1 TORQUE the fitting on the aft return tube to between 190 and 170 lbf.in (2.15 and 1.92 m.daN )
.
(l) Remove the CAP - PROTECTION from the right TRAS monitoring harness connectors (4039KS-A) and (4047KS-A) and the TRAS track lock (11).
(m) Connect the connectors as follows:
1 Connect the right TRAS monitoring harness (4039KS-A) and (4047KS-A) to the TRAS track lock (11).
2 Tighten the connectors with your fingers.
3 Then tighten the connectors 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn more with PLIERS - NOSE, SOFT, LONG (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-61-400-812).
(n) Install the track lock cover (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-38-400-801).
5. Close-upCAUTION:
HYDRAULIC FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT. IF HYDRAULIC FLUID FALLS ON A SURFACE, IMMEDIATELY CLEAN THE SURFACE WITH A CLEAN CLOTH.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE RELEASE AGENT DOES NOT GET ON OTHER AREAS OF THE THRUST REVERSER DOOR.
APPLY THE RELEASE AGENT AWAY FROM THE DOOR OR PUT MASKING TAPE ON THE ADJACENT AREAS.
IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE INSTRUCTIONS, DAMAGE TO THE OTHER SURFACES CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION:
USE TEFLON-JAWED PLIERS TO LOOSEN/TIGHTEN ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS. DO NOT USE METAL-JAWED PLIERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO HOLD THE MATING PARTS WHEN YOU LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE TUBE OR HOSE NUTS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, YOU CAN TWIST THE TUBES OR HOSES OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO THEM.
(1) Removal of the protection covers CAUTION:
REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
(a) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine. (2) Installation of the TRAS track lock (1) on the left thrust reverser door
(a) Put the TRAS track lock (1) in position in the latch beam.

(b) Do the following:
1 Attach the TRAS track lock (1) to the latch beam with the three bolts (6) and the three washers (5).
2 TORQUE the bolts (6) to between 90 and 81 lbf.in (1.02 and 0.92 m.daN )

1 Attach the TRAS track lock (1) to the latch beam with the two bolts (6) and the two washers (5).
2 Attach the TRAS track lock (1) and the pin guard (7) to the latch beam with the bolt (6).
3 TORQUE the bolts (6) to between 90 and 81 lbf.in (1.02 and 0.92 m.daN )

(d) Clean the bolt (4), washers (2) and (3), grounding strap lug and the mating surface of the TRAS track lock (1) with a clean cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) made moist with acetone (Material No.PU2-0002) or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803).
(e) Remove the acetone (Material No.PU2-0002) with a dry, clean cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) before the solvent becomes dry.
(f) Attach the grounding strap lug and the TRAS track lock (1) on the latch beam with the bolt (4) and the washers (2) and (3).
(g) TORQUE the bolt (4) to between 90 and 81 lbf.in (1.02 and 0.92 m.daN )
. (h) Make sure that the resistance between the grounding strap lug and the TRAS track lock (1) is 0.0100 ohm or less. If the resistance is too high, remove the bolt (4), washers (2) and (3) and grounding strap lug and do Steps 4.A.(2).(g) thru 4.A.(2).(k) again.
(i) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the control tube, aft return tube, return tube and TRAS track lock (1).
(j) Apply a thin layer of lubricant (Material No.PU6-0003) to the threads of the control tube, aft return tube and return tube fittings.
(k) Connect the control tube to the TRAS track lock (1).
(l) TORQUE the fitting on the control tube to between 245 and 215 lbf.in (2.77 and 2.43 m.daN )
. (m) Connect the aft return tube to the TRAS track lock (1).
(n) TORQUE the fitting on the aft return tube to between 190 and 170 lbf.in (2.15 and 1.92 m.daN )
. (o) Connect the return tube to the TRAS track lock (1).
(p) TORQUE the fitting on the return tube to between 190 and 170 lbf.in (2.15 and 1.92 m.daN )
. (q) Remove the CAP - PROTECTION from the left TRAS monitoring harness connectors (4038KS-A) and (4046KS-A) and the TRAS track lock (1).
(r) Connect the connectors as follows:
1 Connect the left TRAS monitoring harness (4038KS-A) and (4046KS-A) to the TRAS track lock (1).
2 Tighten the connectors with your fingers.
3 Then tighten the connectors 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn more with PLIERS - NOSE, SOFT, LONG (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-61-400-811).
(s) Install the track lock cover (2) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-38-400-801).
(3) Installation of the TRAS track lock (11) on the right thrust reverser
(a) Put the TRAS track lock (11) in position in the latch beam.

(b) Do the following:
1 Attach the TRAS track lock (11) to the latch beam with the three bolts (13) and the three washers (12).

1 Attach the TRAS track lock (11) to the latch beam with the two bolts (13) and the two washers (12).
2 Attach the TRAS track lock (11) and the pin guard (17) to the latch beam with the bolt (13).
3 TORQUE the bolts (13) to between 90 and 81 lbf.in (1.02 and 0.92 m.daN )

(d) Clean the bolt (16), washers (14) and (15), grounding strap lug and the mating surface of the TRAS track lock (11) with a clean cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) made moist with acetone (Material No.PU2-0002) or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803).
1 Remove the acetone (Material No.PU2-0002) with a dry clean cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) before the solvent becomes dry.
(e) Attach the grounding strap lug and the TRAS track lock (11) to the latch beam with the bolt (16) the and washers (14) and (15).
1 TORQUE the bolt (16) to between 90 and 81 lbf.in (1.02 and 0.92 m.daN )
. (f) Make sure that the resistance between the grounding strap lug and the TRAS track lock (11) is 0.0100 ohms or less. If the resistance is too high, remove the bolt (16), washers (14) and (15) and grounding strap lug and do Steps 4.A.(3)(g) thru 4.A.(3)(i) again.
(g) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the control tube, aft return tube, return tube and TRAS track lock (11).
(h) Apply a thin layer of lubricant (Material No.PU6-0003) to the threads of the control tube, aft return tube and return tube fittings.
(i) Connect the control tube to the TRAS track lock (11).
1 TORQUE the fitting on the control tube to between 245 and 215 lbf.in (2.77 and 2.43 m.daN )
. (j) Connect the return tube to the TRAS track lock (11).
1 TORQUE the fitting on the return tube to between 190 and 170 lbf.in (2.15 and 1.92 m.daN )
. (k) Connect the aft return tube to the TRAS track lock (11).
1 TORQUE the fitting on the aft return tube to between 190 and 170 lbf.in (2.15 and 1.92 m.daN )
. (l) Remove the CAP - PROTECTION from the right TRAS monitoring harness connectors (4039KS-A) and (4047KS-A) and the TRAS track lock (11).
(m) Connect the connectors as follows:
1 Connect the right TRAS monitoring harness (4039KS-A) and (4047KS-A) to the TRAS track lock (11).
2 Tighten the connectors with your fingers.
