WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

E. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the right thrust-reverser cowl-door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.
4. Procedure
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 78-31-61-420-060-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Right TRAS Monitoring Harness (1)
   (1) Mix the PU4-0002epoxy primer, fluid resistant or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803), PU4-0004Acuring solution, epoxy primer and thinner (Material No.PU4-0005) . Refer to the instructions of the manufacturer.
   (2) Attach the right TRAS monitoring harness (1) (4054VC) and (4055VC) connectors to the torque box disconnect panel. Use the eight screws (2) and the eight washers (3). Wet install the screws (2) with the PU4-0002epoxy primer, fluid resistant or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803) mixture.
     (a) Tighten the eight screws (2) with your hand. Then tighten the screws (2) 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn more.
   (3) Connection of the pylon harness:
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR AND RECEPTACLE ARE CLEAN WHEN YOU CONNECT THEM. DIRTY CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION: USE TEFLON-JAWED PLIERS TO LOOSEN/TIGHTEN ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS. DO NOT USE METAL-JAWED PLIERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN OCCUR.
     (a) Connect the pylon harness (4054VC-A) and (4055VC-A) connectors to the right TRAS monitoring harness (1).
     (b) Tighten the connectors finger-tight. Tighten the connectors 1/4 of a turn more with PLIERS - CONNECTOR, JAW, SOFT.
   (4) Connection of the right TRAS harness:
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR AND RECEPTACLE ARE CLEAN WHEN YOU CONNECT THEM. DIRTY CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION: USE TEFLON-JAWED PLIERS TO LOOSEN/TIGHTEN ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS. DO NOT USE METAL-JAWED PLIERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN OCCUR.
     (a) Connect the right TRAS harness (1) (4004KS-A), (4033KS-A) and (4041KS-A) connectors to the feedback locking actuator.
     (b) Tighten the connectors finger-tight. Tighten the connectors 1/4 of a turn more with PLIERS - CONNECTOR, JAW, SOFT.
   (5) Attach the two brackets (7) and (8) to the feedback locking actuator. Use the two bolts (4) and the two washers (5). Wet install the bolts (4) with the PU4-0002epoxy primer, fluid resistant or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803) mixture.
     (a) TORQUE the two bolts (4) to between 35 and 31.5 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.36 m.daN ) T.
   (6) Put the three clamps (6) on the right TRAS monitoring harness (1).
   (7) Attach the right TRAS monitoring harness (1) and the three clamps (6) on the two brackets (7) and (8). Use the three bolts (4) and the three washers (5). Wet install the bolts (4) with primer mixture.
NOTE: Do not torque the three bolts (4) at this time.
   (8) Put the clamp (11) on the right TRAS monitoring harness (1).
   (9) Remove the bolt (9) and washer (10) and the right track lock harness clamp.
   (10) Clean the faying surface with a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.
PU1-0001) moistened with PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl. Do not allow the PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl to dry on the surface. Wipe with a clean dry lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) before the PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl dries.
   (11) Look at the surface of the torque box where you will install the clamp (11). Make sure the surface has a layer of paint and you can see no bare metal. If part of the surface is without paint, apply a layer of the PU4-0002epoxy primer, fluid resistant or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803) mixture to the surface.
   (12) Attach the right TRAS monitoring harness (1), the clamp (11), the right track lock harness clamp and the right track lock harness to the torque box. Use the bolt (9) and washer (10). Put the right track lock harness clamp on top of the clamp (11). Wet install the bolt (9) with the PU4-0002epoxy primer, fluid resistant or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803) mixture.
NOTE: Do not torque the bolt (9) at this time.
   (13) Put the clamp (12) on the right TRAS monitoring harness (1).
   (14) Clean the faying surface with a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) moistened with PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl. Do not allow the PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl to dry on the surface. Wipe with a clean dry lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) before the PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl dries.
   (15) Look at the surface of the torque box where you will install the clamp (12). Make sure the surface has a layer of paint and you can see no bare metal. If part of the surface is without paint, apply a layer of the PU4-0002epoxy primer, fluid resistant or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803) mixture to the surface.
   (16) Attach the right TRAS monitoring harness (1) and the clamp (12) to the torque box. Use the bolt (14) and washer (13). Wet install the bolt (14) with the PU4-0002epoxy primer, fluid resistant or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803) mixture.
NOTE: Do not torque the bolt (14) at this time.
   (17) Put the two clamps (15) on the right TRAS monitoring harness (1).
   (18) Remove the two bolts (17), the two washers (16) and the two right track lock harness clamps.
   (19) Clean the faying surface with a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) moistened with PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl. Do not allow the PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl to dry on the surface. Wipe with a clean dry lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) before the PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl dries.
   (20) Look at the surfaces of the torque box where you will install the two clamps (15). Make sure the surfaces have a layer of paint and you can see no bare metal. If part of the surface is without paint, apply a layer of the PU4-0002epoxy primer, fluid resistant or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803) mixture to the surface.
   (21) Attach the right TRAS monitoring harness (1), the two clamps (15), the two right track lock harness clamps and the right track lock harness to the torque box. Use the two bolts (17) and the two washers (16). Put the two right track lock harness clamps on top of the two clamps (15). Wet install the bolts (17) with the PU4-0002epoxy primer, fluid resistant or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803) mixture.
NOTE: Do not torque the bolts (17) at this time.
   (22) Put the five clamps (20) on the right TRAS monitoring harness (1).
   (23) Remove the five bolts (18), the five washers (19) and the five right track lock harness clamps.
   (24) Attach the right TRAS monitoring harness (1), the five clamps (20), the five right track lock harness clamps and the right track lock harness to the torque box. Use the five bolts (18) and the five washers (19). Put the five right track lock harness clamps on top of the five clamps (20). Wet install the bolts (18) with the PU4-0002epoxy primer, fluid resistant or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803) mixture.
NOTE: Do not torque the bolts (18) at this time.
   (25) Put the four clamps (23) on the right TRAS monitoring harness (1).
   (26) Remove the four nuts (21) and the four washers (22) from the four right track lock harness clamps and the right track lock harness.
   (27) Attach the right TRAS monitoring harness (1), the four clamps (23), the four right track lock harness clamps and the right track lock harness on the torque box. Use the four nuts (21) and the four washers (22). Put the four right track lock harness clamps (23) on top of the four right track lock harness clamps. Wet install the nuts (21) with the PU4-0002epoxy primer, fluid resistant or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803) mixture.
NOTE: Do not torque the nuts (21) at this time.
   (28) Put the clamp (26) on the right TRAS monitoring harness (1).
   (29) Remove the bolt (24), washer (25) and the right track lock harness clamp.
   (30) Attach the right TRAS monitoring harness (1), the clamp (26), the right track lock harness clamp and the right track lock harness to the torque box. Use the bolt (24) and washer (25). Put the right track lock harness clamp on top of the clamp (26). Wet install the bolt (24) with the PU4-0002epoxy primer, fluid resistant or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803) mixture.
NOTE: Do not torque the bolt (24) at this time.
   (31) Put the clamp (29) on the right TRAS monitoring harness (1).
   (32) Remove the bolt (27), washer (28) and the right track lock harness clamp.
   (33) Clean the faying surface with a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) moistened with PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl. Do not allow the PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl to dry on the surface. Wipe with a clean dry lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) before the PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl dries.
   (34) Look at the surface of the torque box where you will install the right track lock harness clamp below the clamp (29). Make sure the surface has a layer of paint and you can see no bare metal. If part of the surface is without paint, apply a layer of the PU4-0002epoxy primer, fluid resistant or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803) mixture to the surface.
   (35) Attach the right TRAS monitoring harness (1), the clamp (29), the right track lock harness clamp and the right track lock harness to the torque box. Use the bolt (27) and washer (28). Put the clamp (29) on top of the right track lock harness clamp. Wet install the bolt (27) with the PU4-0002epoxy primer, fluid resistant or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803) mixture.
NOTE: Do not torque the bolt (27) at this time.
   (36) Connection of the right TRAS monitoring harness:
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR AND RECEPTACLE ARE CLEAN WHEN YOU CONNECT THEM. DIRTY CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION: USE TEFLON-JAWED PLIERS TO LOOSEN/TIGHTEN ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS. DO NOT USE METAL-JAWED PLIERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN OCCUR.
     (a) Connect the right TRAS monitoring harness (1) (4043KS-A) and (4035KS-A) connectors to the locking actuator.
     (b) Tighten the connectors finger-tight. Tighten the connectors 1/4 of a turn more with PLIERS - CONNECTOR, JAW, SOFT.
   (37) Put the clamp (32) on the right TRAS monitoring harness (1).
   (38) Remove the bolt (30), washer (31) and the right track lock harness clamp.
   (39) Clean the faying surface with a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) moistened with PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl. Do not allow the PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl to dry on the surface. Wipe with a clean dry lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) before the PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl dries.
   (40) Look at the surface of the torque box where you will install the clamp (32). Make sure the surface has a layer of paint and you can see no bare metal. If part of the surface is without paint, apply a layer of the PU4-0002epoxy primer, fluid resistant or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803) mixture to the surface.
   (41) Attach the right TRAS monitoring harness (1), the clamp (32), the right track lock harness clamp and the right track lock harness to the torque box. Use the bolt (30) and washer (31). Put the right track lock harness clamp on top of the clamp (32). Wet install the bolt (30) with the PU4-0002epoxy primer, fluid resistant or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803) mixture.
NOTE: Do not torque the bolt (30) at this time.
   (42) Put the clamp (33) on the right TRAS monitoring harness (1).
   (43) Clean the faying surface with a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) moistened with PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl. Do not allow the PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl to dry on the surface. Wipe with a clean dry lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) before the PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl dries.
   (44) Look at the surface of the torque box where you install the clamp (33). Make sure the surface has a layer of paint and you can see no bare metal. If part of the surface is without paint, apply a layer of the PU4-0002epoxy primer, fluid resistant or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803) mixture to the surface.
   (45) Attach the right TRAS monitoring harness (1) and the clamp (33) to the torque box. Use the bolt (35) and washer (34). Wet install the bolt (35) with the PU4-0002epoxy primer, fluid resistant or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803) mixture.
NOTE: Do not torque the bolt (35) at this time.
   (46) Put the clamp (36) on the right TRAS monitoring harness (1).
   (47) Remove the bolt (38), washer (37) and the right track lock harness clamp.
   (48) Attach the right TRAS monitoring harness (1), the clamp (36), the right track lock harness clamp, and the right track lock harness to the torque box. Use the bolt (38) and washer (37). Put the clamp (36) on top of the right track lock harness clamp. Wet install the bolt (38) with the PU4-0002epoxy primer, fluid resistant or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803) mixture.
NOTE: Do not torque the bolt (38) at this time.
   (49) Put the two clamps (41) on the right TRAS monitoring harness (1).
   (50) Clean the faying surface with a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) moistened with PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl. Do not allow the PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl to dry on the surface. Wipe with a clean dry lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.PU1-0001) before the PU2-0001alcohol, isopropyl dries.
   (50) Look at the surfaces of the torque box where you will install the clamps (41). Make sure the surfaces have a layer of paint and you can see no bare metal. If part of the surface is without paint, apply a layer of the PU4-0002epoxy primer, fluid resistant or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803) mixture to the surface.
   (51) Attach the right TRAS monitoring harness (1) and the two clamps (41) on the latch beam. Use the two bolts (39) and the two washers (40). Wet install the bolts (39) with the PU4-0002epoxy primer, fluid resistant or equivalent (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-803) mixture.
NOTE: Do not torque the bolts (39) at this time.
   (52) Put the right TRAS monitoring harness (1) through the bulkheads of the latch beam.
   (53) Connection of the right TRAS monitoring harness:
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR AND RECEPTACLE ARE CLEAN WHEN YOU CONNECT THEM. DIRTY CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION: USE TEFLON-JAWED PLIERS TO LOOSEN/TIGHTEN ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS. DO NOT USE METAL-JAWED PLIERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN OCCUR.
     (a) Connect the right TRAS monitoring harness (1) (4039KS-A) and (4047KS-A) connectors to the track lock.
     (b) Tighten the connectors finger-tight. Tighten the connectors 1/4 of a turn more with PLIERS - CONNECTOR, JAW, SOFT.
   (54) Put the three grommets (42) and the two grommets (43) on the right TRAS monitoring harness (1).
   (55) Attach the right TRAS monitoring harness (1) to the bulkheads of the latch beam with the three grommets (42) and the two grommets (43).
   (56) Put the right TRAS monitoring harness (1) in the two spring clips.
   (57) Adjust the right TRAS monitoring harness (1) to keep the preload to a minimum. Make sure that there are no kinks in the right TRAS monitoring harness (1).
   (58) Tighten the nuts and bolts.
     (a) TORQUE the bolts (4), (9), (14), (17), (18), (24), (27), (30), (35), (38) and (39) to between 35 and 31.5 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.36 m.daN ) T.
     (b) TORQUE the nuts (21) to between 27 and 24 lbf.in (0.31 and 0.27 m.daN )
T.
   (59) Install the track lock cover (
Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-38-400-801).

B. Installation of the Insulation Blankets
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the right aft latch beam blanket and the right forward latch beam blanket on the inner fixed structure of the thrust reverser (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-71-400-802).

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the right thrust reverser cowl-door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-802):

B. Do the reactivation of the thrust reverser system after maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-440-805).

C. Close Access
   (1) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)

   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Make sure that all the circuit breakers shown in the paragraph Procedure of the engine interface unit installation are closed. If they are not, close them in the recommended sequence

D. Test
   (1) Do the operational test of the thrust reverser with the MCDU (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-00-710-805).
