A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002) or (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Make sure that engine 1(2) shutdown occurred for a minimum of five minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) In the cockpit, on AIR COND panel 30VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton-switch is released (OFF legend on).
(b) Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton-switch is released (ON legend off).
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in the position to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
(4) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position for a minimum of five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in the position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch, and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
(5) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in the position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
(6) On the access door 191DB, on the HP ground connector:
(a) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in the position to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.
Subtask 36-11-54-010-084-A (1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002) or (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
Subtask 36-11-54-865-079-A WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for nacelle maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807). D. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

Subtask 36-11-54-420-065-A
A. Installation of the Fan Air Valve (FAV)
(1) If you use the APU to energize the electrical circuits, stop the APU:
(a) Make sure that the pressure and the temperature of the bleed-air duct system are in the ambient conditions.
(4) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(5) Make sure that the seal in the cold inlet (22) is not damaged. If damaged, replace the bleed-air precooler-exchanger cold-inlet (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-44-000-803) (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-44-400-803).
(6) Make sure that the AIPC 36-11-86-54-340 SEAL (14) or AIPC 36-11-86-55-340 SEAL (14) of the scoop (11) is not damaged. If damaged, replace it with a new seal.
(7) Remove the bolt (23) from the FAV (4) and disconnect the FAV actuator rod (3) from the FAV (4).
(8) Install the FAV (4) as follows:
(a) Carefully engage the FAV (4) in the bleed-air precooler-exchanger inlet (22) and the pins (19) of the FAV (4) in the pin holes of the bracket (18).
(b) Keep the FAV (4) in its position.
(9) Install a new AIPC 36-11-86-54-200 SEAL (21) or AIPC 36-11-86-55-200 SEAL (21) in the FAV (4).
(10) Carefully install the scoop (11) on the structure (9) as follows:
(a) Make sure that the FAV (4) and scoop (11) clocking devices are aligned.
(b) Install the clamp (20) on the scoop (11) and the FAV (4).
(c) Tighten the clamp (20).
(d) Install the bolts (13) and the washers (12) on the scoop (11).
(e) TORQUE the bolts (13) to between 0.48 and 0.37 m.daN (42.48 and 32.74 lbf.in )

(f) Put the scoop rod (10) in its position on the bracket (7).
2 If it is necessary to adjust the length of the scoop rod (10), do the steps that follow:
a Disengage the locking washer (25) from the nut (26).
b Adjust the length.
c TORQUE the nut (26) to between 0.60 and 0.40 m.daN (53.10 and 35.40 lbf.in )

d Bend the locking washer (25) on the nut (26).
3 TORQUE the nut (8) to between 0.82 and 0.63 m.daN (72.57 and 55.75 lbf.in )
.
(h) TORQUE the clamp (20) to between 1.41 and 1.3 m.daN (124.78 and 115.04 lbf.in )
.
(11) Put the FAV actuator rod (3) in its position and then do the steps that follow:
(a) Install the 98D36003004000 BLOCKING DEVICE FAV (24) to lock the FAV (4) in the closed position.
(b) Install the FAV actuator rod (3) and try to engage freely the screws on the two sides of the rod.
(c) If necessary, adjust the length of the rod (3) to connect the rod to the FAV easily as follows:
1 Remove the lockwire from the nut of the FAV actuator rod (3).
2 Loosen the nut of the FAV actuator rod (3).
3 Tighten or loosen the FAV actuator rod (3) as necessary to adjust the length.
4 TORQUE the nut of the FAV actuator rod (3) to between 0.6 and 0.4 m.daN (53.10 and 35.40 lbf.in )

14QFC1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES - on the nut of the FAV actuator rod (3).
(d) Put the FAV actuator rod (3) in its position on the FAV actuator (1) and the FAV (4).
(12) Install and tighten bolt (23) on the FAV (4).
(13) Install and tighten the bolt (2) on the FAV actuator (1) and the FAV actuator rod (3).
(14) Remove the 98D36003004000 BLOCKING DEVICE FAV (24) from the FAV (4).
(15) TORQUE the bolts (2) and (23) to between 0.38 and 0.31 m.daN (33.63 and 27.43 lbf.in )
.
(16) Identify the tightened union nut of the clamp (20) with a red line (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
(17) Install the bonding strap (16), the nut (15) and the bolt (17) on the FAV (4) and the electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(18) Apply the Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) on the bonding strap (16), the nut (15) and the bolt (17).
Subtask 36-11-54-865-080-A (1) If you use the APU to energize the electrical circuits, stop the APU:
- For GTCP 36-300 APU (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86)
- For APS 3200 APU (Ref. AMM D/O 49-00-00-86)
- For 131-9(A) APU (Ref. AMM TASK 49-00-00-860-009).
(a) Make sure that the pressure and the temperature of the bleed-air duct system are in the ambient conditions.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE UNIT UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY COOL TO PREVENT BURNS WHEN YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE TASK(S).
(3) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.(4) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(5) Make sure that the seal in the cold inlet (22) is not damaged. If damaged, replace the bleed-air precooler-exchanger cold-inlet (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-44-000-803) (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-44-400-803).
(6) Make sure that the AIPC 36-11-86-54-340 SEAL (14) or AIPC 36-11-86-55-340 SEAL (14) of the scoop (11) is not damaged. If damaged, replace it with a new seal.
(7) Remove the bolt (23) from the FAV (4) and disconnect the FAV actuator rod (3) from the FAV (4).
(8) Install the FAV (4) as follows:
(a) Carefully engage the FAV (4) in the bleed-air precooler-exchanger inlet (22) and the pins (19) of the FAV (4) in the pin holes of the bracket (18).
(b) Keep the FAV (4) in its position.
(9) Install a new AIPC 36-11-86-54-200 SEAL (21) or AIPC 36-11-86-55-200 SEAL (21) in the FAV (4).
(10) Carefully install the scoop (11) on the structure (9) as follows:
(a) Make sure that the FAV (4) and scoop (11) clocking devices are aligned.
(b) Install the clamp (20) on the scoop (11) and the FAV (4).
(c) Tighten the clamp (20).
(d) Install the bolts (13) and the washers (12) on the scoop (11).
(e) TORQUE the bolts (13) to between 0.48 and 0.37 m.daN (42.48 and 32.74 lbf.in )
.(f) Put the scoop rod (10) in its position on the bracket (7).
NOTE: You can get access to the below part of the left side thrust reverser to put the scoop rod (10) in position on the bracket (7) more easily.
(g) Install the bushing (6), the nut (8) and the bolt (5) on the bracket (7) as follows: NOTE: You can get access to the below part of the left side thrust reverser to install the bolt (5), the nut (8) and the bushing (6) on the bracket (7) more easily.
1 Install the bolt (5) and make sure that the bolt (5) moves freely.2 If it is necessary to adjust the length of the scoop rod (10), do the steps that follow:
a Disengage the locking washer (25) from the nut (26).
b Adjust the length.
c TORQUE the nut (26) to between 0.60 and 0.40 m.daN (53.10 and 35.40 lbf.in )
. d Bend the locking washer (25) on the nut (26).
3 TORQUE the nut (8) to between 0.82 and 0.63 m.daN (72.57 and 55.75 lbf.in )
. (h) TORQUE the clamp (20) to between 1.41 and 1.3 m.daN (124.78 and 115.04 lbf.in )
. (11) Put the FAV actuator rod (3) in its position and then do the steps that follow:
(a) Install the 98D36003004000 BLOCKING DEVICE FAV (24) to lock the FAV (4) in the closed position.
(b) Install the FAV actuator rod (3) and try to engage freely the screws on the two sides of the rod.
(c) If necessary, adjust the length of the rod (3) to connect the rod to the FAV easily as follows:
1 Remove the lockwire from the nut of the FAV actuator rod (3).
2 Loosen the nut of the FAV actuator rod (3).
3 Tighten or loosen the FAV actuator rod (3) as necessary to adjust the length.
4 TORQUE the nut of the FAV actuator rod (3) to between 0.6 and 0.4 m.daN (53.10 and 35.40 lbf.in )
. WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
5 Install the (d) Put the FAV actuator rod (3) in its position on the FAV actuator (1) and the FAV (4).
(12) Install and tighten bolt (23) on the FAV (4).
(13) Install and tighten the bolt (2) on the FAV actuator (1) and the FAV actuator rod (3).
(14) Remove the 98D36003004000 BLOCKING DEVICE FAV (24) from the FAV (4).
(15) TORQUE the bolts (2) and (23) to between 0.38 and 0.31 m.daN (33.63 and 27.43 lbf.in )
. (16) Identify the tightened union nut of the clamp (20) with a red line (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
(17) Install the bonding strap (16), the nut (15) and the bolt (17) on the FAV (4) and the electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(18) Apply the Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) on the bonding strap (16), the nut (15) and the bolt (17).
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

(2) Remove all the fixtures, tools, test and support equipment used during this procedure.
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
