Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Nacelle Maintenance (ICU) [CFML]

TASK 78-30-00-040-807-A
Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Nacelle Maintenance (ICU)

WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.
1. Reason for the Job
A. This procedure gives the instructions to set the Isolation Control Unit (ICU) to the deactivated position. In the deactivated position the ICU prevents automatic operation of the thrust reverser in the stow direction and the deploy direction.
B. This inhibition procedure must be applied for maintenance on nacelle components.
C. When the ICU is in the deactivated position it prevents operation of the thrust reverser electrical and hydraulic systems. The ICU does not prevent manual operation of the thrust reverser.
D. Before flight you must make the thrust reverser serviceable after maintenance. There is a different procedure to make the thrust reverser deactivated for flight (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-808-A).
