A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 78-36-00-010-100-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Nacelle Maintenance
4. ProcedureWARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for nacelle maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807). Subtask 78-36-00-410-084-A
A. Closing of the Thrust Reverser Cowl Doors
(1) Connection of the 98N7830H013-000 THRUST REVERSER OPEN PUMP.:
(a) Install the 98N7830H013-000 THRUST REVERSER OPEN PUMP..
(b) Connect the hose of the 98N7830H013-000 THRUST REVERSER OPEN PUMP. to the opening actuator manifold (6) on the thrust reverser cowl.
(c) Make sure that the 98N7830H013-000 THRUST REVERSER OPEN PUMP. reservoir can close the thrust reverser cowl door.
(2) Disengage the thrust reverser Hold Open Rod (HOR) (4):
(a) Make sure that the hose of the 98N7830H013-000 THRUST REVERSER OPEN PUMP. is correctly connected to the thrust reverser cowl opening actuator manifold (6).
(b) Close the valve on the 98N7830H013-000 THRUST REVERSER OPEN PUMP..
(c) Operate the 98N7830H013-000 THRUST REVERSER OPEN PUMP. to unload the HOR (4).
(d) Move the ring (7) to unlock the HOR (4) and visually check that the red strip indicator is visible.
(e) Disconnect the HOR (4) from the engine fitting.
(f) Move and connect the HOR (4) to the forward frame storage fitting (5).
(3) Closing of the thrust reverser cowl:
(b) Close the valve:
(c) Disconnect the hose of the 98N7830H013-000 THRUST REVERSER OPEN PUMP. from the actuator manifold connector of the thrust reverser cowl.
(d) Closing of the thrust reverser latches:
(4) Closing of the 6 o'clock forward latch access door (2):
(a) Push up the 6 o'clock forward latch access door (2).
(b) Push on the door latch button to close the door latches (3).
(c) Make sure that the door latches (3) are engaged correctly.
(5) Closing of the 6 o'clock rear latch access door (1):
(a) Push up the 6 o'clock rear latch access door (1).
(b) Push on the door latch button to close the door latches (3).
(c) Make sure that the door latches (3) are engaged correctly.
5. Close-up(1) Connection of the 98N7830H013-000 THRUST REVERSER OPEN PUMP.:
(a) Install the 98N7830H013-000 THRUST REVERSER OPEN PUMP..
(b) Connect the hose of the 98N7830H013-000 THRUST REVERSER OPEN PUMP. to the opening actuator manifold (6) on the thrust reverser cowl.
(c) Make sure that the 98N7830H013-000 THRUST REVERSER OPEN PUMP. reservoir can close the thrust reverser cowl door.
(2) Disengage the thrust reverser Hold Open Rod (HOR) (4):
(a) Make sure that the hose of the 98N7830H013-000 THRUST REVERSER OPEN PUMP. is correctly connected to the thrust reverser cowl opening actuator manifold (6).
(b) Close the valve on the 98N7830H013-000 THRUST REVERSER OPEN PUMP..
(c) Operate the 98N7830H013-000 THRUST REVERSER OPEN PUMP. to unload the HOR (4).
(d) Move the ring (7) to unlock the HOR (4) and visually check that the red strip indicator is visible.
(e) Disconnect the HOR (4) from the engine fitting.
(f) Move and connect the HOR (4) to the forward frame storage fitting (5).
(3) Closing of the thrust reverser cowl:
CAUTION:
KEEP THE HOR ON THE FORWARD FRAME BEFORE YOU OPEN THE PUMP VALVE TO CLOSE THE THRUST REVERSER COWL. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, THE HOR CAN HIT THE HOR FITTING OR THE ENGINE ADJACENT PARTS AND DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.
(a) Open the valve of the 98N7830H013-000 THRUST REVERSER OPEN PUMP. slowly and close the thrust reverser cowl until the cowl opening actuator red pop out indicator retracts. See the sheet 7 of the figure. (b) Close the valve:
CAUTION:
BEFORE YOU TRY TO CLOSE THE VALVE, MAKE SURE THAT THE POP OUT INDICATOR (RED PIN) ON THE COWL OPENING ACTUATOR IS FULLY RETRACTED IF NOT, THE REMAINING PRESSURE IN THE SYSTEM CAN PREVENT CORRECT OPERATION OF THE LATCHES AND OIL LEAKAGE IN THE FAN ZONE CAN OCCUR.
1 Close the valve on the 98N7830H013-000 THRUST REVERSER OPEN PUMP.. (c) Disconnect the hose of the 98N7830H013-000 THRUST REVERSER OPEN PUMP. from the actuator manifold connector of the thrust reverser cowl.
(d) Closing of the thrust reverser latches:
- Engage and close latch LACC-2.
- Engage and close latch LACC-1.
- Engage and close latch L4.2.
- Engage and close latch L4.1.
- Engage and close latch L3.2.
- Engage and close latch L3.1.
- Engage and close latch L2.
- Engage and close latch L1.
(4) Closing of the 6 o'clock forward latch access door (2):
(a) Push up the 6 o'clock forward latch access door (2).
(b) Push on the door latch button to close the door latches (3).
(c) Make sure that the door latches (3) are engaged correctly.
(5) Closing of the 6 o'clock rear latch access door (1):
(a) Push up the 6 o'clock rear latch access door (1).
(b) Push on the door latch button to close the door latches (3).
(c) Make sure that the door latches (3) are engaged correctly.

A. Do the reactivation of the thrust reverser after nacelle maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-440-807).
