A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
WARNING: OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
   (1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
   (2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Blue hydraulic system:
  • In the cockpit on hydraulic section 40VU of the overhead panel
  • On the ground service panel of the Blue hydraulic system.
   (3) Make sure that the Blue hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
   (4) Make sure that the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system is depressurized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (5) Make sure that access door 195BB is open.
   (6) Make sure that the CONTAINER - HYDRAULIC FLUID RESISTANT is under the location of the electric pump (6).

WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE REPLACEMENT COMPONENT IS FULL WITH THE CORRECT FLUID BEFORE YOU INSTALL IT. IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENT AND/OR THE SYSTEM.
A. Preparation of the Replacement Component
NOTE: The pump (6) and the attachment bracket (1) are a matched assembly. Always replace the pump (6) and the attachment bracket (1) as an assembly.
   (1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (2) Make sure that the attachment bracket (1) and blower housing (19) are in the same position as on the removed pump (6). If necessary, do the procedure that follows:
     (a) For pumps with part numbers 518150 and 693335:
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
       1 Cut and remove the lockwire.
       2 Remove the bolts (4) and the washers (5).
       3 Remove the attachment bracket (1).
       4 If necessary, adjust blower housing (19):
         a Remove the screws (25) and the washers (26).
         b Turn the blower housing (19) to correct position.
         c Loosely install the washers (26) and the screws (25).
         d TORQUE the screws (25) to between 0.20 and 0.18 m.daN (17.70 and 15.93 lbf.in ) T
       5 Put the attachment bracket (1) in the correct position.
       6 Loosely install the washers (5) and the bolts (4).
       7 TORQUE the bolts (4) to between 1.19 and 1.07 m.daN (105.31 and 94.69 lbf.in )

     (b) For pumps with part number 974540:
       1 Remove the bolts (4) and the washers (5).
       2 Remove the attachment bracket (1).
       3 If necessary, adjust blower housing (19):
         a Remove the screws (25) and the washers (26).
         b Turn the blower housing (19) to correct position.
         c Loosely install the washers (26) and the screws (25).
         d TORQUE the screws (25) to between 0.78 and 0.69 m.daN (69.03 and 61.06 lbf.in )

       4 Put the attachment bracket (1) in the correct position.
       5 Loosely install the washers (5) and the bolts (4).
       6 TORQUE the bolts (4) to between 1.13 and 1.07 m.daN (100.00 and 94.69 lbf.in )

     (c) For pumps with part number 4205601, 4205602, 4205603 and 4205604:

       3 Loosely install the washers (5) and the bolts (4).
       4 TORQUE the bolts (4) to between 0.81 and 0.54 m.daN (71.68 and 47.79 lbf.in )

     (e) For pumps with part number 3022143-000:
       1 Remove the bolts (4) and the washers (5).
       2 Remove the attachment bracket (1).
       3 If necessary, adjust blower housing (19):
         a Remove the screws (25) and the washers (26).
         b Turn the blower housing (19) to correct position.
         c Loosely install the washers (26) and the screws (25).
         d TORQUE the screws (25) to between 0.78 and 0.69 m.daN (69.03 and 61.06 lbf.in )

       4 Put the attachment bracket (1) in the correct position.
       5 Loosely install the washers (5) and the bolts (4).
       6 TORQUE the bolts (4) to between 1.19 and 1.07 m.daN (105.31 and 94.69 lbf.in )

   (3) Make sure that the replacement pump (6) is full with the Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.
02ABA1) .
   (4) If necessary fill the pump (6) with the Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) .

A. Preparation of the Replacement Component

       1 Cut and remove the lockwire.
       2 Remove the bolts (4) and the washers (5).
       3 Remove the attachment bracket (1).
       4 If necessary, adjust blower housing (19):
         a Remove the screws (25) and the washers (26).
         b Turn the blower housing (19) to correct position.
         c Loosely install the washers (26) and the screws (25).
         d TORQUE the screws (25) to between 0.20 and 0.18 m.daN (17.70 and 15.93 lbf.in ) T.
       5 Put the attachment bracket (1) in the correct position.
       6 Loosely install the washers (5) and the bolts (4).
       7 TORQUE the bolts (4) to between 1.19 and 1.07 m.daN (105.31 and 94.69 lbf.in )

       1 Remove the bolts (4) and the washers (5).
       2 Remove the attachment bracket (1).
       3 If necessary, adjust blower housing (19):
         a Remove the screws (25) and the washers (26).
         b Turn the blower housing (19) to correct position.
         c Loosely install the washers (26) and the screws (25).
         d TORQUE the screws (25) to between 0.78 and 0.69 m.daN (69.03 and 61.06 lbf.in )

       4 Put the attachment bracket (1) in the correct position.
       5 Loosely install the washers (5) and the bolts (4).
       6 TORQUE the bolts (4) to between 1.13 and 1.07 m.daN (100.00 and 94.69 lbf.in )

     (c) For pumps with part number 4205601, 4205602, 4205603 and 4205604:

         b Turn the blower housing (19) to correct position.
         c Loosely install the washers (26) and the screws (25).
         d TORQUE the screws (25) to between 0.308 and 0.252 m.daN (27.26 and 22.30 lbf.in )

       5 Put the attachment bracket (1) in the correct position.
       6 Loosely install the washers (5) and the bolts (4).

       1 Remove the bolts (4) and washers (5).
       2 Remove the attachment bracket (1) and put it in the correct position.
       3 Loosely install the washers (5) and the bolts (4).
       4 TORQUE the bolts (4) to between 0.81 and 0.54 m.daN (71.68 and 47.79 lbf.in )

     (e) For pumps with part number 3022143-000:
       1 Remove the bolts (4) and the washers (5).
       2 Remove the attachment bracket (1).
       3 If necessary, adjust blower housing (19):
         a Remove the screws (25) and the washers (26).
         b Turn the blower housing (19) to correct position.
         c Loosely install the washers (26) and the screws (25).
         d TORQUE the screws (25) to between 0.78 and 0.69 m.daN (69.03 and 61.06 lbf.in )
T.
       4 Put the attachment bracket (1) in the correct position.
       5 Loosely install the washers (5) and the bolts (4).
       6 TORQUE the bolts (4) to between 1.19 and 1.07 m.daN (105.31 and 94.69 lbf.in )
T.
   (3) Make sure that the replacement pump (6) is full with the Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.
02ABA1) .
   (4) If necessary fill the pump (6) with the Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) .
NOTE: It is not permitted to use high-density fluid Skydrol 500B-4.
Subtask 29-12-51-420-051-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT HYDRAULIC LINES ON UNIONS. IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SECOND WRENCH, THERE IS A RISK THAT YOU WILL LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE UNION TOO MUCH.
CAUTION: YOU MUST INSTALL HYDRAULIC TUBES WITH HYDRAULIC FLUID AS LUBRICANT.
B. Installation of the Electric Pump
NOTE: It is necessary for a second person to hold the pump (6) while you connect the electrical connector (9), and attach the pump (6) (to the structure of the aircraft).
NOTE: The pump (6) weighs approximately 15 Kg (33 lb.).
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Hold the pump (6) in position on the structure, and install the four bolts (18).
   (4) If removed, install the washers (20). Connect the bonding lead (17) at the same time.
   (5) Install the new AIPC 29-12-03-09-020 NUTS (14) or AIPC 29-12-83-09-150 NUTS (14) and tighten.
NOTE: If new nuts (14) are not available, use the removed nuts, but do not use the nuts (14) more than three times.
   (6) If the new nuts (14) are not available, do a breakaway torque check of each nut. The minimum breakaway TORQUE value must be 0.04 m.daN (3.54 lbf.in). If the breakaway torque value is less than the limit, replace the nut(s).
   (7) Remove the blanking plugs from the hydraulic line end-fittings, and the blanking caps from the unions of the pump (6).
   (8) If the unions (3), (12) and (15) were removed, do the steps that follow:
     (a) Apply the Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.
02ABA1) to the new AIPC 29-12-03-09-080 PACKING (29) or AIPC 29-12-83-09-240 PACKING (29) and the AIPC 29-12-03-09-070 UNION (3) or AIPC 29-12-83-09-230 UNION (3).
     (b) Install the packing (29) on the union (3).
     (c) For the pumps with the part numbers 51154-02, 51154-03, 51154-04, 51154-05, 974540 and 3022143-000:
     (d) For the pumps with the part numbers 4205601, 4205602, 4205603, 518150 and 693335:
     (e) Apply the Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the new AIPC 29-12-03-09-060 PACKING (30) or AIPC 29-12-83-09-260 PACKING (30) and the AIPC 29-12-03-09-050 UNION (12) or AIPC 29-12-83-09-250 UNION (12).
     (f) Install the packing (30) on the union (12).
     (g) For the pumps with the part numbers 51154-02, 51154-03, 51154-04, 51154-05, 974540 and 3022143-000:
     (h) For the pumps with the part numbers 4205601, 4205602, 4205603, 518150 and 693335:
     (i) Apply the Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the new AIPC 29-12-03-09-100 PACKING (28) or AIPC 29-12-83-09-220 PACKING (28) and the AIPC 29-12-03-09-090 UNION (15) or AIPC 29-12-83-09-210 UNION (15).
     (j) Install the packing (28) on the union (15).
     (k) For the pumps with the part numbers 51154-02, 51154-03, 51154-04, 51154-05, 974540 and 3022143-000:
     (l) For the pumps with the part numbers 4205601, 4205602, 4205603, 518150 and 693335:
   (9) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
   (10) Apply the Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.
02ABA1) to the threads of the line end-fittings.

B. Installation of the Electric Pump
NOTE: It is necessary for a second person to hold the pump (6) while you connect the electrical connector (9), and attach the pump (6) (to the structure of the aircraft).
NOTE: The pump (6) weighs approximately 15 Kg (33 lb.).
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Hold the pump (6) in position on the structure, and install the four bolts (18).
   (4) If removed, install the washers (20). Connect the bonding lead (17) at the same time.
   (5) Install the new AIPC 29-12-03-09-020 NUTS (14) and tighten.
NOTE: If new nuts (14) are not available, use the removed nuts, but do not use the nuts (14) more than three times.
   (6) If the new nuts (14) are not available, do a breakaway torque check of each nut. The minimum breakaway TORQUE value must be 0.04 m.daN (3.54 lbf.in). If the breakaway torque value is less than the limit, replace the nut(s).
   (7) Remove the blanking plugs from the hydraulic line end-fittings, and the blanking caps from the unions of the pump (6).
   (8) If the unions (3) and (15) and attenuator (12) were removed, do the steps that follow:
     (a) Apply the Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.
02ABA1) to the new AIPC 29-12-03-09-060 PACKING (29) and the AIPC 29-12-03-09-050 UNION (3).
     (b) Install the packing (29) on the union (3).
     (c) For the pumps with the part numbers 51154-02, 51154-03, 51154-04, 51154-05, 974540 and 3022143-000:
     (d) For the pumps with the part numbers 4205601, 4205602, 4205603, 518150 and 693335:

   (2) Pressurize the reservoir of the Blue Hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
   (3) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (4) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)

   (5) On the ECAM control panel on the center pedestal, press the HYD P/BSW. Make sure that the HYD page is shown on the lower (system) display of the ECAM.

  • Low fluid level in the Blue reservoir.
   (7) If necessary, pressurize the reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
   (8) If necessary, add fluid to the reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
