WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE HYDRAULIC PUMP IS SUFFICIENTLY SUPPORTED DURING REMOVAL OR INSTALLATION. THE HYDRAULIC PUMP WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 35 LBS (13 KG). IF IT IS NOT SUFFICIENTLY SUPPORTED, INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENTS CAN OCCUR.

A. Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Do the system check applicable after pump damage (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-280-006), if you remove the pump:

Because of operation without fluid (dry running)
Or because of malfunction if you think that there is a pump internal damage.

(2) If there is a pump damage and an overheat condition, do also the system check applicable after overheat condition (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-280-005).
(3) Do a visual check of the related Green HP filter element (1048GM):

If you find metal chips or decomposed hydraulic fluid (jelly) in the filter element, flush the lines that connect the pump to the filters (Ref. AMM TASK 12-36-29-170-001).
If you find contamination on the filters, flush the lines that connect the pump to the filters (Ref. AMM TASK 12-36-29-170-001).

(4) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
(5) Depressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(6) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(7) On the ECAM control panel, push the HYD key:

On the lower ECAM DU, the HYD page comes into view.

(8) On overhead panel 20VU:

Lift the guard and release the ENG1/FIRE pushbutton switch.

(9) On the lower ECAM DU, on the HYD page:

Make sure that the fire shutoff valve (1046GK) is closed.

(1) On AIR COND panel 30VU:

Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (ON legend off).
Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate this pushbutton switch.

(2) Open access door 197CB.
(a) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system on the ground service panel.
(3) On the HYD section of panel 40VU:

Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system.

(4) Open access door 195BB.
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system.
(5) Do the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).

4. Procedure
Subtask 29-11-51-020-059-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the Green Engine Driven Pump

CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.

CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO HOLD THE MATING PARTS WHEN YOU LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE TUBE OR HOSE NUTS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS CAUTION, YOU CAN TWIST OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TUBES OR HOSES.

(1) Put a CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) below the hydraulic connections to collect the remaining fluid.
(2) Remove the hydraulic pump (1):

CAUTION: USE TEFLON-JAWED PLIERS TO LOOSEN/TIGHTEN ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS. DO NOT USE METAL-JAWED PLIERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN OCCUR.

(a) Disconnect the IDG-EDP-MON harness (1030GK-A) from the hydraulic pump (1) with PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT (Ref. AMM TASK 71-51-40-000-801).
(b) Hold the hydraulic inline damper (16) on the hydraulic pump (1) with a WRENCH - STANDARD and disconnect the hydraulic pressure hose. Collect the hydraulic fluid in the CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-49-000-807).
(c) Hold the adapter (13) with a WRENCH - STANDARD and disconnect the hydraulic suction hose. Collect the hydraulic fluid in the CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-49-000-806).
(d) Hold the elbow (10) on the hydraulic pump (1) with a WRENCH - STANDARD and disconnect the hydraulic case drain hose. Collect the hydraulic fluid in the CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-49-000-805).
(e) Remove the hydraulic inline damper (16) from the hydraulic pump (1).
1 Remove and discard the packings (2), (15) and two retainers (14) from the hydraulic inline damper (16).
(f) Remove the adapter (13) from the union (4) on the hydraulic pump (1).
(g) Remove the union (4) from the hydraulic pump (1).
1 Remove and discard the packing (5) from the union (4).
(h) Remove the two elbows (9) and (10), adapter (8) and reducer (7) from the hydraulic pump (1).
1 Remove and discard the packing (6) from the reducer (7).
(3) Loosen the four nuts (12) that attach the hydraulic pump (1) to the Accessory Gearbox (AGB).
(a) Turn the hydraulic pump (1) clockwise until the nuts (12) are in the large holes.
(b) Remove the hydraulic pump (1) from the AGB.
(c) Remove and discard the packing (17) from the hydraulic pump (1).
(d) Remove the four nuts (12).
(e) Remove and discard the gasket (11).
(4) Installation of protection covers:

CAUTION: INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.

(a) Install COVER - PROTECTION on the IDG-EDP-MON harness (1030GK-A) connector, pressure hose, suction hose, case drain hose and the hydraulic pump (1).

A. Removal of the Green Engine Driven Pump

CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.

(1) Put a CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) below the hydraulic connections to collect the remaining fluid.
(2) Remove the hydraulic pump (1):

CAUTION: USE TEFLON-JAWED PLIERS TO LOOSEN/TIGHTEN ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS. DO NOT USE METAL-JAWED PLIERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN OCCUR.

(a) Disconnect the IDG-EDP-MON harness (1030GK-A) from the hydraulic pump (1) with PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT (Ref. AMM TASK 71-51-40-000-801).
(b) Hold the hydraulic inline damper (16) on the hydraulic pump (1) with a WRENCH - STANDARD and disconnect the hydraulic pressure hose. Collect the hydraulic fluid in the CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-49-000-807).
(c) Hold the union (4) on the hydraulic pump (1) with a WRENCH - STANDARD and disconnect the hydraulic suction hose. Collect the hydraulic fluid in the CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-49-000-806).
(d) Hold the elbow (10) on the hydraulic pump (1) with a WRENCH - STANDARD and disconnect the hydraulic case drain hose. Collect the hydraulic fluid in the CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-49-000-805).
(e) Remove the hydraulic inline damper (16) from the hydraulic pump (1).
1 Remove and discard the packings (2), (15) and two retainers (14) from the hydraulic inline damper (16).
(f) Remove the two elbows (9) and (10), adapter (8) and reducer (7) from the hydraulic pump (1).
1 Remove and discard the packing (6) from the reducer (7).
(3) Loosen the four nuts (12) that attach the hydraulic pump (1) to the Accessory Gearbox (AGB).
(a) Turn the hydraulic pump (1) clockwise until the nuts (12) are in the large holes.
(b) Remove the hydraulic pump (1) from the AGB.
(c) Remove and discard the packing (17) from the hydraulic pump (1).
(d) Remove the four nuts (12).
(e) Remove and discard the gasket (11).
(4) Installation of protection covers:

CAUTION: INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.

(a) Install COVER - PROTECTION on the IDG-EDP-MON harness (1030GK-A) connector, pressure hose, suction hose, case drain hose and the hydraulic pump (1).
