   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.

E. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Ground Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

F. Get Access
   (1) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)
451AL, 452AR.
     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)
461AL, 462AR.
4. Procedure
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 71-51-40-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the IDG-EDP-MON Harness
   (1) Remove the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4) as follows:
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR IS CLEAN BEFORE YOU CONNECT OR DISCONNECT IT. DIRTY ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT AND/OR CAUSE EQUIPMENT TO NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY.
CAUTION: USE TEFLON-JAWED PLIERS TO LOOSEN/TIGHTEN ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS. DO NOT USE METAL-JAWED PLIERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN OCCUR.
     (a) Disconnect the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4) connectors (401VC-A), (405VC-A) and (404VC-A) from the pylon interface with the PLIERS - CONNECTOR, JAW, SOFT.
     (b) Cut the tying tape that holds together the three IDG-EDP-MON harness (4) branches to the connectors (401VC-A), (405VC-A) and (404VC-A).
       1 Remove and discard the tying tape.
     (c) CONFIGURATION 1
Remove the bolt (46), the two washers (43) and the nut (42) that attach the clamp (44) to the clamp (45).
Remove the clamps (44) and (45) from the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4).
     (d) Disconnect the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4) connectors (4000XU-C), (4000XU-A) and (4000XU-B) from the Integrated Drive Generator (IDG) with the PLIERS - CONNECTOR, JAW, SOFT.
     (e) Disconnect the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4) connector (4080KS-A) from the low oil pump switch with the PLIERS - CONNECTOR, JAW, SOFT.
     (f) Disconnect the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4) connector (3030GD-A) from the engine driven pump with the PLIERS - CONNECTOR, JAW, SOFT.
     (g) Remove the bolt (1) and the washer (2) that attach the clamp (3) and the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4) to the electrical heatshield bracket.
       1 Remove the clamp (3) from the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4).
     (h) Remove the two bolts (5) and the two washers (6) that attach the two clamps (7) and the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4) to the electrical heatshield bracket.
       1 Remove the clamps (7) from the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4).
     (i) Remove the bolt (8) and the washer (9) that attach the clamp (10) and the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4) to the middle support return fuel bracket.
       1 Remove the clamp (10) from the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4).
     (j) Remove the bolt (26), the two washers (27) and the nut (28) that attach the clamp (29) and the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4) to the Loop-B fire harness and clamp.
       1 Remove the clamp (29) from the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4).
         a Do not remove the clamp from the Loop-B fire harness.
     (k) Install the bolt (26), the two washers (27) and the nut (28) back on the Loop-B fire harness and clamp.
       1 Tighten the nut (28) finger-tight.
     (l) Remove the bolt (11) and the washer (12) that attach the clamp (13) and the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4) to the lower support upper return fuel bracket.
       1 Remove the clamp (13) from the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4).
     (m) Remove the bolt (14) and the washer (15) that attach the clamp (16) and the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4) to the lower support middle return fuel bracket.
       1 Remove the clamp (16) from the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4).
     (n) Remove the bolt (17) and the washer (18) that attach the clamp (19) and the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4) to the PW bracket.
       1 Remove the clamp (19) from the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4).
     (o) Remove the bolt (30), the two washers (31) and the nut (32) that attach the clamp (33) and the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4) to the Loop-A fire harness and clamp.
       1 Remove the clamp (33) from IDG-EDP-MON harness (4).
         a Do not remove the clamp from the Loop-A fire harness.
     (p) Install the bolt (30), the two washers (31) and the nut (32) back on the Loop-A fire harness and clamp.
       1 Tighten the nut (32) finger-tight.
     (q) Remove the bolt (34), the two washers (35) and the nut (36) that attach the clamp (37) and the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4) to the ECS and PW harnesses and the two clamps.
       1 Remove the clamp (37) from the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4).
         a Do not remove the clamps from the ECS and PW harnesses.
     (r) Attach the ECS and PW harnesses and the two clamps back:
       1 Use the bolt (34), the two washers (35) and the nut (36).
       2 Tighten the nut (36) finger-tight.
     (s) Remove the bolt (20) and the washer (21) that attach the clamp (22) and the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4) to the AOC support return fuel bracket.
       1 Remove the clamp (22) from the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4).
     (t) Hold the bottom of the bolt under the electrical heatshield bracket so that it will not fall through the hole. Remove the nut and the washer that attach the clamp (38) and the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4) to the electrical heatshield bracket.
       1 Remove the clamp (38) from the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4).
     (u) Install the existing bolt, washer and nut back to the electrical heatshield bracket.
       1 Tighten the existing nut finger-tight.
     (v) Remove the bolt (23) and the washer (24) that attach the clamp (25) and the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4) to the engine duct bracket.
       1 Remove the clamp (25) from the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4).
     (w) Remove the bolt (39) and the washer (40) that attach the clamp (41) and the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4) to the engine duct bracket.
       1 Remove the clamp (41) from the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4).
     (x) Remove the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4) from the spring clip on the PW bracket.
     (y) Remove the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4) from the spring clip on the engine duct bracket.
     (z) Remove the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4) from the spring clip on the LP-ECS duct assembly.
     (aa) Remove the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4) from the two spring clips on the engine duct clamp brackets.
     (ab) Remove the IDG-EDP-MON harness (4) from the engine.
   (2) Installation of the protection covers:
CAUTION: INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
     (a) Make sure that you install the COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
