Removal of the Hydraulic Pressure Hose

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
   (2) Make sure that the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system is depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).

B. Safety Precautions
   (1) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
  • Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (ON legend off).
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate this pushbutton switch.
   (2) Open access door 197CB.
     (a) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system on the ground service panel.
   (3) On the HYD section of panel 40VU:
  • Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system.
   (4) Open access door 195BB:
     (a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system.
   (5) Do the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).

   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):

D. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

E. Get Access
   (1) Open the right thrust-reverser cowl-door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

   (2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 29-11-49-020-126-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Hydraulic Pressure Hose
CAUTION: YOU MUST USE A WRENCH TO HOLD THE MATING PARTS WHEN YOU LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE TUBE NUTS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS CAUTION, YOU CAN TWIST OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TUBES.
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
CAUTION: HYDRAULIC FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT. IF HYDRAULIC FLUID FALLS ON A SURFACE, IMMEDIATELY CLEAN THE SURFACE WITH A CLEAN CLOTH.
   (1) Remove the hydraulic pressure hose (1).
     (a) Put a CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) below the hydraulic pressure hose (1).
     (b) Hold the hydraulic inline damper with a WRENCH - STANDARD and disconnect the hydraulic pressure hose (1) from the hydraulic inline damper on the hydraulic pump.
     (c) Drain the hydraulic fluid from the lower end of the hydraulic pressure hose (1) into the CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL).
     (d) Disconnect the hydraulic pressure hose (1) from the pylon fuel-hydraulic panel.
     (e) Drain the hydraulic fluid from the hydraulic pressure hose (1) into the CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL).
     (f) Remove the hydraulic pressure hose (1) from the engine.
NOTE: There is remaining hydraulic fluid inside the hydraulic pressure hose (1). Hold the hydraulic pressure hose (1) vertically to prevent flow out of the hydraulic fluid.
   (2) Installation of the protection covers
CAUTION: INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
     (a) Install COVER - PROTECTION on the hydraulic pressure hose (1), the hydraulic inline damper on the hydraulic pump, and the pylon fuel-hydraulic panel interface.
