WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

G. Remove the Inline Damper
   (1) Make sure that the Inline Damper of the Green Engine Dump on Engine 1 is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-46-000-803).
   (2) Make sure that the Inline Damper of the Yellow Engine Pump on Engine 2 is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 29-13-46-000-803)
4. Procedure
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 73-11-01-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Integrated Fuel Pump and Control (IFPC)
CAUTION: REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
   (1)
     (a) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine.
   (2) There are two approved procedures that you can use to install the IFPC (1). Use one of the procedures that follow:
     (a) Install the IFPC (1) on the engine with the PWA211313 FIXTURE, INSTALLATION, refer to step 4.A.(5).
     (b) Install the IFPC (1) on the engine with the PWA211441 HANDLE, WORK, refer to step 4.A.(6).
   (3) Install the IFPC (1) on the PWA211313 FIXTURE, INSTALLATION as follows:
     (a)      (b) Align the IFPC (1) drive shaft with the PWA211313 FIXTURE, INSTALLATION pad opening.
     (c) Lower the IFPC (1) onto the PWA211313 FIXTURE, INSTALLATION pad.
     (d)      (e) Install the detail support on the float plate with the four detail screws.
     (f) Align the block slot with the support dowel pin.
     (g) Install the support on the block with the detail screw.
   (4) Remove the crank pad from the Main Gear Box (MGB) as follows:
     (a) Remove the two bolts (13) and the two washers (12) from the manual crank cover (11).
     (b) Remove the manual crank cover (11) from the MGB with the PWA211773 PULLER, SLIDE MAIN.
     (c) Remove the packing (14) and discard it.
   (5) Install the IFPC (1) on the fuel manifold with the PWA211313 FIXTURE, INSTALLATION as follows:
     (a) Turn the PWA211313 FIXTURE, INSTALLATION hand crank and the upper hand wheel as necessary to lift the IFPC (1).
     (b) Apply the anti−seize paste (Material No.P06-054) on the threads of the six captive bolts.
NOTE: For the new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
     (c) Apply the P03-001lubricant, aircraft turbine engine on the new EIPC 73-11-01-01-090 PACKING (24) and the IFPC (1) drive shaft splines.
     (d) Install the packing (24) on the IFPC (1) drive shaft.
     (e) Inspect the current face seal (25) for reusability as follows:
       1 Raised material on the metal surface is not permitted.
       2 Rubber that is not bonded to the seal plate is not permitted.
       3 Rubber that is missing is not permitted.
       4 Inspect the rubber seal for separation from the seal plate.
       5 Rubber that is cut or damaged is not permitted.
       6 Make sure that the rubber material is above the metal surface.
     (f) Align and install the
EIPC 73-11-01-01-080 FACE SEAL (25) on the fuel manifold.
     (g) Align the IFPC (1) with the MGB IFPC drive-splines with the
PWA211313 FIXTURE, INSTALLATION.
NOTE: Three mechanics are necessary to align the MGB IFPC drive-splines with the IFPC drive-shaft splines.
     (h) Turn the lower hand wheel to adjust the angle of the IFPC (1) to the fuel manifold.
     (i)      (j) Engagement of the drive shaft splines:
CAUTION: DO NOT LET THE IFPC HANG ON THE DOWEL PINS OR ON THE DRIVE SHAFT WHEN THE BOLTS ARE NOT ENGAGED. IF YOU DO, THE IFPC CAN DISENGAGE FROM THE MANIFOLD AND FALL. THE IFPC WEIGHT IS 63 LBS (29KG). IF IT FALLS, IT WILL GET DAMAGED.
       1      (k) TORQUE the six captive bolts to between 200 and 180 lbf.in (2.26 and 2.03 m.daN ) T in an equal and opposite pattern until the same torque indication holds.
     (l) Remove the
PWA211313 FIXTURE, INSTALLATION from the IFPC (1).
   (6) Install the IFPC (1) on the fuel manifold with the PWA211441 HANDLE, WORK as follows:
     (a) Apply the P03-001lubricant, aircraft turbine engine on the four detail screws.
     (b) Install the PWA211441 HANDLE, WORK on the IFPC (1) with the four detail screws.
     (c) Apply the anti−seize paste (Material No.P06-054) on the threads of the six captive bolts.
NOTE: For the new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
     (d) Apply the P03-001lubricant, aircraft turbine engine on the new EIPC 73-11-01-01-090 PACKING (24) and the IFPC (1) drive shaft.
     (e) Install the packing (24) on the IFPC (1) drive shaft.
     (f) Inspect the current face seal (25) for reusability as follows:
       1 Raised material on the metal surface is not permitted.
       2 Rubber that is not bonded to the seal plate is not permitted.
       3 Rubber that is missing is not permitted.
       4 Examine the rubber seal for separation from the seal plate.
       5 Rubber that is cut or damaged is not permitted.

     (g) Align and install the face seal (25) on the fuel manifold.
     (h) Align the IFPC (1) with the MGB IFPC drive-splines with the
PWA211441 HANDLE, WORK.
NOTE: Three mechanics are necessary to align the MGB IFPC drive-splines with the IFPC drive-shaft splines.
     (i)      (j) Install the IFPC (1):
CAUTION: DO NOT LET THE IFPC HANG ON THE DOWEL PINS OR ON THE DRIVE SHAFT WHEN THE BOLTS ARE NOT ENGAGED. IF YOU DO, THE IFPC CAN DISENGAGE FROM THE MANIFOLD AND FALL. THE IFPC WEIGHT IS 63 LBS (29KG). IF IT FALLS, IT WILL GET DAMAGED.
       1      (k) TORQUE the six captive bolts to between 200 and 180 lbf.in (2.26 and 2.03 m.daN ) T in an equal and opposite pattern until the same torque indication holds.
     (l) Remove the
PWA211441 HANDLE, WORK from the IFPC (1).
   (7) Install the manual crank cover as follows:
     (a) Apply the P03-001lubricant, aircraft turbine engine on the new EIPC 72-61-01-02-290 PACKING (14).
     (b) Install the packing (14) on the manual crank cover (11).
     (c) Apply the anti−seize paste (Material No.
P06-054) on the two bolts (13).
     (d) Install the manual crank cover (11) on the MGB with the two bolts (13) and the two washers (12).
     (e) TORQUE the two bolts (13) to between 95 and 78 lbf.in (1.07 and 0.88 m.daN ) T.
   (8) Install the main fuel supply-hose on the IFPC (1) as follows:
     (a) Apply the anti−seize (Material No.P06-043) on the threads of the four bolts (36).
NOTE: For new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
     (b) Install the main fuel supply-hose and the AIPC 73-11-86-01-100 FACE SEAL (35) on the IFPC (1) with the four bolts (36).
     (c) TORQUE the four bolts (36) to between 70 and 55 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.62 m.daN )
T in an equal and opposite pattern until the same torque indication holds.
   (9) Install the bracket (47) on the IFPC (1) as follows:
     (a) Install the bracket (47) on the IFPC (1) with the two bolts (46).
     (b) TORQUE the two bolts (46) to between 44 and 38 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.43 m.daN ) T.
   (10) Connect the wiring harness (WC08) and the connector (P15) to the IFPC (1) receptacle (J15) as follows:
     (a) Examine, align and engage the connector.
     (b) Lightly push the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
     (c) Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
     (d) While you tighten the connector, push it from side to side.
     (e) Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
     (f) Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
   (11) Connect the wiring harness (W03) and the connector (P16) to the IFPC (1) receptacle (J16) as follows:
     (a) Examine, align and engage the connector.
     (b) Lightly push the connector while you tighten the coupling ring.
     (c) Use the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to tighten the connector against the receptacle.
     (d) While you tighten the connector, push it from side to side.
     (e) Make sure that you can feel the ratchet feature.
     (f) Tighten the connector until the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT slip on the connector ring.
   (12) Connect the bracket to the IFPC (1) as follows:
     (a) Apply the anti−seize (Material No.P06-043) on the threads of the two bolts (41).
     (b) Install the two bolts (41) through the bracket on the IFPC (1) fingertight.
     (c) TORQUE the two bolts (41) to between 44 and 38 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.43 m.daN ) T.
   (13)
   (14) Examine the assembly for unwanted objects, damage and correct assembly.
CAUTION: INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
   (15) Make sure that you install the COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
