Test No.6 - EEC Operation Test (Idle Test)
1. Reason for the Job
- Use this procedure to check for satisfactory operation of the Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) system at idle power.
- Use this procedure to verify the presence of existing faults and confirmation that a corrective action has eliminated the fault.
- The Engine Electronic Control (EEC) system interactive test electrically verifies the EEC and the Prognostics and Health Management Unit (PHMU) input and output circuits.

A. Safety Precautions and Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Do the job set-up as for an engine start (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-823) or (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-822).
4. Procedure(1) Do the job set-up as for an engine start (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-823) or (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-822).

A. Procedure
(1) Do the FADEC system static test (Ref. AMM TASK 73-21-00-710-806) before you start the engine.
(2) Start the engine by the automatic start procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-823).
(a) It is recommended that you use the manual start procedure at all high-altitude airports.
(b) It is recommended that you use the manual start procedure for starts with low starter air pressure supply (external pneumatic power source).
(4) Let the engine become stable for five minutes at idle power.
(5) Make sure that all the engine parameters are in the permitted limits (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-910-803).
(6) Make a record of any WARNING messages that you see on the ECAM display screen.
(7) Do the engine shutdown (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-814).
(8) Do a FADEC system static test (Ref. AMM TASK 73-21-00-710-806).
(9) Make a record of any fault messages that you see on the MCDU screen.
(10) Use the record of fault messages to do any maintenance that is necessary.
5. Close-up(1) Do the FADEC system static test (Ref. AMM TASK 73-21-00-710-806) before you start the engine.
(2) Start the engine by the automatic start procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-823).
NOTE: This is the recommended start method for normal conditions.
NOTE: If you must do test No. 3 and test No. 6, it is possible to start the engine only one time.
(3) As an option, start the engine by the manual start procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-822).
