Operational Check to start the Functional Test of the Alternate Braking Automatically (flight simulated)
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES ARE IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
- THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
- THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
- THE LANDING GEAR AND RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE CONTROLS AGREE WITH THE POSITION OF THE ITEMS THEY OPERATE BEFORE YOU PRESSURIZE A HYDRAULIC SYSTEM. UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF HYDRAULICALLY OPERATED ITEMS CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
WARNING:
PRESSURIZE ONLY THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM(S) THAT IS (ARE) NECESSARY FOR THE TASK. ISOLATE THE OTHER HYDRAULIC SYSTEM(S) BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER TO THE AIRCRAFT.

A. Operational Check to Start the Alternate-Braking Functional Test
(1) Ignore the L/G NORM CTL LEVER (6GA)/BSCU (10GG) message that comes into view because of the aircraft configuration.
(2) Do a reset of the BSCU (10GG):
(a) Set the A/SKID & N/W STRG switch to OFF, then to ON.

| On the ECAM control panel: 1.Push the HYD pushbutton switch to get the HYD page on the lower ECAM DU. | On the lower ECAM DU, the HYD page comes into view. |
| 2.Pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system with the electric pump (Ref. AMM TASK 29-24-00-863-001). | On the lower ECAM display unit, make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is pressurized. |
| 3.Five seconds after the pressurization of the Yellow hydraulic system, the functional test of the alternate braking starts and operates for approximately 20 seconds. | On panel 400VU, the Yellow brake-pressure triple-indicator (60GG) shows the left and right side pressure values which change from 101 bar (1464.8808 psi) to the return pressure and from 70 bar (1015.2639 psi) to the return pressure many times for approximately 20 seconds. NOTE: This change of the Yellow hydraulic pressure shows that the functional test of the alternate-braking started correctly. |
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Depressurize the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-24-00-864-001).
