3. Job Set-up
Subtask 32-21-43-860-060-A
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the safety devices are installed on the landing gears (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
   (2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position:
  • On center pedestal, on right center-instrument-panel 400VU, to tell persons not to operate the landing gear control-lever.
  • On the Nose Wheel Steering (N/WS) handwheels and the rudder pedals to tell persons not to operate them.
   (3) Make sure that the NLG doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 32-22-00-010-001).
   (4) Make sure that the safety devices are correctly installed on the landing gear doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-002).
   (5) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position adjacent to the NLG.
   (6) If the electrical power is not necessary for other tasks, make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are de-energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002). Then, it is not necessary to operate the circuit breakers below.

C. Flight Configuration Precautions
   (1) If the electrical power is necessary for maintenance tasks, obey the precautions for flight configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001) after you open the circuit breakers.
4. Procedure
Subtask 32-21-43-420-055-A
A. Installation of Upper Harness 1M
WARNING: FOR SAFETY STAND AFT OF THE GEAR LEG WHEN YOU OPERATE THE GROUND OPENING CONTROL OF THE DOOR. CAREFULLY READ THE PLACARD ON THE LEG DOOR BEFORE YOU OPEN THE NOSE GEAR DOORS.
   (1) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the electrical connectors immediately before you connect them.
   (2) Apply a layer of Non Hardening Jointing Putty-High Temp. Area - Structure (Material No.06LDG2) to the threads of all the nuts and bolts before you install them.
   (3) Hold upper harness 1M (117) in position and:
     (a) Put the clamp (4) in position on the bracket (10). Then, install the washers (3), screws (2), washers (5), nuts (6) and tighten the nuts (6).
     (b) Connect the electrical connector (1300VCA) (1) to the connector on aircraft interface (1300VC).
     (c) Safety the grommet (115) with the AIPC 32-21-43-31-160 BRAID (116).
     (d) Install the clamp (14), washers (15) and screw (16) on the bracket (13).
     (e) Install the clamp (18), screw (17), washer (11) and nut (12) on the bracket (19) and tighten the nut (12).
     (f) Install the clamp (43), screw (42), clamp (44), washer (45) and nut (46) on the bracket (47) and tighten the nut (46).
     (g) Connect the electrical connector (18GAA) (41) to the system 1 NLG downlock-proximity-sensor (18GA) on the bracket (40).
     (h) Install the strut (32), clamp (31), screw (30), clamp (38), washer (37) and nut (36) on the bracket (39) and tighten the nut (36).
     (i) Install the clamp (33), washer (34) and screw (35) on the bracket (39).
     (j) Put the transition box (27) in position on the bracket (29). Then, install the screws (28) and (26), washer (25), nuts (24) and (20) and tighten the nuts (24) and (20).
     (k) Install the clamp (53), washer (54) and screw (55) on the bracket (51).
     (l) Connect the electrical connector (7LRA) (50) to the connector on take off light (7LR) (52).
     (m) Install the screw (23), clamp (21) and nut (22) on the bracket (29) and tighten the nut (22).
     (n) Connect the electrical connector (3GCA) (61) to control-channel nose-wheel-steering feedback-sensor (3GC) (60).
     (o) Put the transition box (67) in position on the bracket (62). Then, install the washers (68) and (64), screws (69) and (63), washer (66) and nut (65) and tighten the nut (65).
     (p) Connect the electrical connector (3LC1A) (70) to left runway-turnoff-light (3LC1) (71).
     (q) Install the clamp (74), washer (73) and screw (72) on the bracket (75).
     (r) Connect the electrical connector (24GAA) (76) to system 1 NLG external-proximity-sensor (24GA) (77).

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

   (3) Do the operational test of the nose wheel steering (Ref. AMM TASK 32-51-00-710-001).
   (4) Do the BITE check of the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-69-00-740-001).

A. Removal of Equipment
   (1) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (2) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
