A. Safety Precautions
   (1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
   (2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
   (3) On panel 400VU:
  • Make sure the landing-gear control lever is in the DOWN position
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear controls.

NOTE: During the test, indications other than those on the MCDU will occur. You can ignore these other indications.
   (1) Do this test:

1.On the Multifunction Central Display Unit (MCDU), get access to the L/G page (Ref. AMM TASK 31-32-00-860-009).
  • the MCDU shows the L/G menu.
(a) Push the LGCIU 1 P/BSW.
  • the MCDU shows the LGCIU 1 menu.
(b) Push the TEST P/BSW.
  • the MCDU shows the LGCIU 1 TEST menu

  • the LGCIU 1 TEST menu shows 'test wait (10 secs)'

  • when the tests are completed, the LGCIU 1 TEST menu shows 'test OK'.
2.Push the RETURN P/BSW until you get the L/G menu.
  • the MCDU shows the L/G menu.
(a) Push the LGCIU 2 P/BSW.
  • the MCDU shows the LGCIU 2 menu.
(b) Push the TEST P/BSW.
  • the MCDU shows the LGCIU 2 TEST menu

  • the LGCIU 2 TEST menu shows 'test wait (10 secs)'

  • when the tests are completed, the LGCIU 2 TEST menu shows 'test OK'.
3.Push the line key < RETURN frequently until the CFDS menu page is shown.

A. De-energize the Electrical Circuits
   (1) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).

B. Removal of Equipment
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the SAFETY BARRIER(S).
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
