A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
   (2) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear doors.
   (3) Extension of the flaps
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
     (a) Extend the flaps fully (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
     (b) Install the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION on the flap/slat control lever on panel 114VU.

   (2) Install the safety devices on the MLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-002).
   (3) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable access panels.
   (4) Remove the applicable access panels:
For the left wing, remove the panels:
For the right wing, remove the panels:
   (5) Clean the rigging pin holes at tracks 1, 2, 3 and 4 with the clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and the Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .

   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Retract the flaps fully (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-009). Do not do this manually.
   (3) On panel 114VU, install the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION on the flap/slat control lever.
   (4) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on panel 114VU to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat controls.

F. Readout of the Position Pickoff Units (PPUs) on the Centralized Fault Display System (CFDS)
   (1) Do the readout of the PPU data (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-860-801).
NOTE: Airbus recommends to do the readout and recording of the PPU angles before the maintenance action.
In case of a loss of the torque shaft fixture you can put the flap transmission system back to the initial condition.

Subtask 27-54-00-820-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Adjustment of Flap Track No. 1
   (1) Install the 98D27504005000 PIN RIGGING-FLAPS (TRACK 1) (2) at track 1.
   (2) If you cannot install the 98D27504005000 PIN RIGGING-FLAPS (TRACK 1) (2) easily, do the steps that follow:
     (a) Remove torque shaft 6204CM (6254CM) (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-45-000-002).
     (b) Adjustment of the flap drive system (for a free rigging pin):
       1 Loosen the 98D27504030001 LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT as necessary to turn the torque shafts.
       2 Turn torque shaft 6206CM (6256CM) four turns in the extension direction.
       3 Turn torque shaft 6206CM (6256CM) in the retraction direction until you can install the rigging pin (2) easily.
       4 If you turn torque shaft 6206CM (6256CM) accidentally too far in the retraction direction:
  • Do the adjustment procedure again until you can install the rigging pin (2) easily.
     (c) Install torque shaft 6204CM (6254CM) (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-45-400-002).
     (d) Install the 98D27504005000 PIN RIGGING-FLAPS (TRACK 1) (2):
       1 Make sure that you can remove/install the rigging pin (2) easily.
       2 If you cannot remove/install the rigging pin (2) easily, do the adjustment procedure again.
Subtask 27-54-00-820-051-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Adjustment of Flap Track No. 1
   (1) Install the 98D27504006000 PIN-RIGGING, FLAPS (1) at track 1.
   (2) If you cannot install the 98D27504006000 PIN-RIGGING, FLAPS (1) easily, do the steps that follow:
     (a) Remove torque shaft 6204CM (6254CM) (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-45-000-002).
     (b) Adjustment of the flap drive system (for a free rigging pin):
       1 Loosen the 98D27504030001 LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT as necessary to turn the torque shafts.
       2 Turn torque shaft 6206CM (6256CM) four turns in the extension direction.
       3 Turn torque shaft 6206CM (6256CM) in the retraction direction until you can install the rigging pin (1) easily.
       4 If you turn torque shaft 6206CM (6256CM) accidentally too far in the retraction direction:
  • Do the adjustment procedure again until you can install the rigging pin (1) easily.
     (c) Install torque shaft 6204CM (6254CM) (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-45-400-002).
     (d) Install the 98D27504006000 PIN-RIGGING, FLAPS (1):
       1 Make sure that you can remove/install the rigging pin (1) easily.
       2 If you cannot remove/install the rigging pin (1) easily, do the adjustment procedure again.

B. Adjustment of Flap Track No. 2
   (1) Install the 98D27504006000 PIN-RIGGING, FLAPS (1) at track 2.
   (2) If you cannot install the 98D27504006000 PIN-RIGGING, FLAPS (1) easily, do the steps that follow:
     (a) Remove torque shaft 6210CM (6260CM) (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-45-000-005).
     (b) Adjustment of the flap drive system (for a free rigging pin):
       1 Loosen the 98D27504030001 LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT as necessary to turn the torque shafts.
       2 Turn torque shaft 6218CM (6268CM) four turns in the extension direction.
       3 Turn torque shaft 6218CM (6268CM) in the retraction direction until you can install the rigging pin (1) easily.
       4 If you turn torque shaft 6218CM (6268CM) accidentally too far in the retraction direction:
  • Do the adjustment procedure again, until you can install the rigging pin (1) easily.
     (c) Install torque shaft 6210CM (6260CM) (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-45-400-005)
     (d) Install the 98D27504006000 PIN-RIGGING, FLAPS (1):
       1 Make sure that you can remove/install the rigging pin (1) easily.
       2 If you cannot remove/install the rigging pin (1) easily, do the adjustment procedure again.

C. Adjustment of Flap Track No. 3
   (1) Install the 98D27504006000 PIN-RIGGING, FLAPS (1) at track 3.
   (2) If you cannot install the 98D27504006000 PIN-RIGGING, FLAPS (1) easily, do the steps that follow:
     (a) Remove torque shaft 6218CM (6268CM) (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-45-000-009)
     (b) Adjustment of the flap drive system (for a free rigging pin):
       1 Loosen the 98D27504030001 LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT as necessary to turn the torque shafts.
       2 Turn torque shaft 6224CM (6274CM) four turns in the extension direction.
       3 Turn torque shaft 6224CM (6274CM) in the retraction direction until you can install the rigging pin (1) easily.
       4 If you turn torque shaft 6224CM (6274CM) accidentally too far in the retraction direction:
  • Do the adjustment procedure again, until you can install the rigging pin (1) easily.
     (c) Install torque shaft 6218CM (6268CM) (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-45-400-009).
     (d) Install the 98D27504006000 PIN-RIGGING, FLAPS (1):
       1 Make sure that you can remove/install the rigging pin (1) easily.
       2 If you cannot remove/install the rigging pin (1) easily, do the adjustment procedure again.

D. Adjustment of Flap Track No. 4
   (1) Install the 98D27504006000 PIN-RIGGING, FLAPS (1) at track 4.
   (2) If you cannot install the 98D27504006000 PIN-RIGGING, FLAPS (1) easily, do the steps that follow:
     (a) Remove torque shaft 6222CM (6272CM) (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-45-000-010).
     (b) Adjustment of the flap drive system (for a free rigging pin):
       1 Loosen the 98D27504030001 LOCK-TORQUE SHAFT (FLAPS AND SLATS) WITH CLAMP-PIVOT as necessary to turn the torque shafts.
       2 Turn torque shaft 6232CM (6282CM) four turns in the extension direction.
       3 Turn torque shaft 6232CM (6282CM) in the retraction direction until you can install the rigging pin (1) easily.
       4 If you turn torque shaft 6232CM (6282CM) accidentally too far in the retraction direction:
  • Do the adjustment procedure again, until you can install the rigging pin (1) easily.
     (c) Install torque shaft 6222CM (6272CM) (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-45-400-010).
     (d) Install the 98D27504006000 PIN-RIGGING, FLAPS (1):
       1 Make sure that you can remove/install the rigging pin (1) easily.
       2 If you cannot remove/install the rigging pin (1) easily, do the adjustment procedure again.

F. Do the Check of the PPU Data
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Do the readout and check of the PPU data (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-860-801).
   (3) Make sure that the PPU data are in the limits.
Subtask 27-54-00-820-055-A
G. Adjustment after the Check of the PPU Data (if necessary)
   (1) If the PPU data are not in the limits, do the steps that follow:
     (a) Disconnect the APPU and adjust the APPU input shaft (Ref. AMM TASK 27-51-00-820-001).
     (b) Do step (1)(a) again until the PPU data are in the specified limits.
Subtask 27-54-00-860-078-A
H. Preparation for the Adjustment of the Interconnecting Strut
   (1) Remove the rigging pins from tracks 1, 2, 3 and 4.
   (2) If necessary, reset the Wing Tip Brake (WTB) of the flap system on the ground (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-869-006).
   (3) Extend the flaps on the ground (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
   (4) Retract the flaps on the ground (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-009).
   (5) Do a readout and check of the PPU data (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-860-801).
   (6) Make sure that the PPU data are in the limits.
   (7) If the PPU data are not in the specified limit, do the steps that follow:
     (a) Disconnect the APPU and adjust the APPU input shaft (Ref. AMM TASK 27-51-00-820-001).
     (b) Do step (7)(a) again until the PPU data are in the specified limits.
   (8) Do the adjustment of the interconnecting strut (Ref. AMM TASK 27-51-44-820-001).
Subtask 27-54-00-710-052-A
I. Test
   (1) Do the operational test of the flap system (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-00-710-001).
NOTE: Due to system play and PCU tolerances, possibly you cannot install the PINS- RIGGING, FLAPS after the operational test. This does not indicate an incorrect adjustment.
   (2) If it is necessary to examine the system again do the Check of the Flap Drive System (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-00-220-007).

Subtask 27-54-00-860-079-A
A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the access panels:
     (a) For the left wing, install these access panels:
     (b) For the right wing, install these access panels:
   (3) Close the MLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
   (4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
