(1) Apply special material on the threads of all screws:
(2) Install the bearing-assembly:
(b) Put the bearing-assembly (6) in position and install the washers (5) and the screws (4).
(3) Install the override clutch:
(b) Push the shaft (16) a short distance through the door-frame structure.
(c) Hold the override clutch (14) in position and align the punch marks on the shaft (16) and the override clutch (14).
(d) Carefully push the shaft (16) through the opening of the override clutch (14) until you can see it at the other side of the opening.
(e) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the inside-surface of the sleeve (8).
(f) Hold the sleeve (8) in position and carefully continue to push the shaft (16) through the sleeve (8) in the bearing-assembly (6).
(g) Adjust the gap between the shaft (16) and the bearing-assembly (6) (see detail E):
1 Put the bearing-assembly (18) in position and install the washers (21) and (24), and the screws (22) and (25).
3 Make sure that the gap is not less than 0.1 mm (0.0039 in.), or more than 0.6 mm (0.0236 in.).
4 If the distance between the shaft (16) and the bearing-assembly (6) is not in this tolerance, you must adjust the gap with the washer(s) (7):
washer AN960C616,
and/or
washer AN960C616L,
and/or
washer AN960C616LL.
5 Remove the screws (22) and (25), the washers (21) and (24), and the bearing-assembly (18).
6 Carefully pull the shaft (16) out of the bearing-assembly (6) until you can install the washers (7) on the shaft (16).
7 Carefully push the shaft (16) back in the bearing-assembly (6).
(h) Put the spring element (17) in the bearing-assembly (18).
(i) Install the bearing assembly:
2 Put the bearing-assembly (18) in position and install the washers (21) and (24), and the screws (22) and (25).
(j) Install the stop-screw (23).
(k) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the inside-surface of the sleeve (26).
(l) Install the sleeve (26) and hold the lever (28) in position.
(m) Hold the override clutch (14) in position and align the punch marks on the lever (28) and the shaft (16).
(n) Install the lever (28), the washer (29) and the dome nut (30).
(o) Install the 98D52207551000 PIN-SAFETY - SLIDE RELEASE LEVER (27) in the related rigging hole of the lever (28).
(4) Install the release-mechanism rod-assembly (46) (refer to as the rod assembly):
(a) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the pin (40).
(b) Put the eye-end of the rod assembly (46) in position at the release lever (43).
(c) Install the pin (40), the washer (41) and the new cotter pin-corrosion resistant steel MS24665-151 (42).
(d) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the pin (48).
(e) Put the other eye-end of the rod assembly (46) in position at the lever assembly (54).
(f) Install the pin (48) the washer (49), and the new cotter pin-corrosion resistant steel MS24665-151 (50).
1 Cut, remove and discard the lock-wire from the lock-nuts (45) and (47) on the rod assembly (46).
2 Loosen the lock-nuts (45) and (47).
3 Turn the eye-ends IN or OUT to adjust the rod assembly (46) until you can easily install the pin (48).
4 Tighten the lock-nuts (45) and (47).
5 Safety the lock-nuts (45) and (47) with14QFB1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy - (Ref. AMM TASK 20-11-11-911-001).
6 Make sure that the eye-ends of the rod assembly (46) are in safety.
(5) Install the release-mechanism control-cable assembly (9) (refer to as the control cable):
(a) Put the control cable (9) in position in the slots of the brackets (3) and tighten the lock-nuts (1) and (2) by hand.
(b) Put the clamps (62) with the control cable (9) in position and install the screws (61), the washers (60) and the nuts (59).
(c) Do not tighten the nuts (59) at this time.
(d) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the pin (11).
(e) Put the eye-end of the control cable (9) together with the washers (10) in position at the override clutch (14) and install the pin (11).
(f) Install the washer (12) and the new cotter pin-corrosion resistant steel MS24665-151 (13).
(g) Loosen the hand tight lock-nuts (1) and (2)
(h) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the pin (51).
(i) Put the other eye-end of the control cable (9) together with the washers (56) in position at the lever assembly (54) and install the pin (51).
(j) Install the washer (52) and the new cotter pin-corrosion resistant steel MS24665-151 (53).
(k) Allign the clamps (62) and tighten the nuts (59).
(l) Make sure that the control cable (9) is correctly installed in the brackets (3) and tighten the lock-nuts (1) and (2).
(m) Adjust the control-cable:
1 Cut, remove and discard the lock-wire from the lock-nuts (57) and the adjusting-nut (58) on the control cable (9).
2 Loosen the lock-nuts (57).
3 Remove the SAFETY PIN - SLIDE RELEASE LEVER (27) from the related hole of the lever (28).
4 Turn the adjusting-nut (58) until the lever (28) touches the stop-screw (23).
5 Turn the adjusting-nut (58) THREE FULL TURNS in the opposite direction to make a gap between the lever (28) and the lock-nut (23).
6 Tighten the lock-nuts (57) on the control cable (9).
7 Safety the lock-nuts (57) and the adjusting-nut (58) with14QFB1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy - (Ref. AMM TASK 20-11-11-911-001).
8 Slowly turn the lever (28) and make sure that the spring plunger of the spring element (17) engages in its position in the lever (28).
(n) Safety the lock-nuts (1) and (2) with14QFB1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy - (Ref. AMM TASK 20-11-11-911-001).

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) If you replace an escape-slide after an operational test or an accidental deployment:
(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE is in position at the related emergency exit door.
(4) Make sure that the related emergency exit door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-010-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-010-002).
(5) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position on the related emergency exit door to tell persons not to close the door.
(6) Make sure that the special precaution on the door damper and the emergency operation cylinder is made (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-860-003).
(7) Make sure that you obeyed the special precautions before you work on the escape slide system(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-00-481-001).
(8) Make sure that the door frame linings are removed from the emergency exit door (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-000-010).
(9) Make sure that the 98D52207552000 PIN-RIGGING - SLIDE RELEASE MECHANISM (38) is installed in the related rigging hole of the lever assembly (40).
(10) Make sure that the 98D52207553000 PIN-RIGGING - SLIDE RELEASE MECHANISM (45) is installed in the related rigging hole of the release lever (46).
(11) Make sure that the insulation blankets in the related work area are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-000-001).
Subtask 25-62-48-860-050-CT ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized

(2) If you replace an escape-slide after an operational test or an accidental deployment:
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU TURN THE RELEASE LEVER BACK TO THE DISARMED POSITION.
IF YOU DO NOT, THE ESCAPE-SLIDE RELEASE SYSTEM STAYS ON. IF YOU THEN CONNECT AN INFLATION RESERVOIR TO THE SYSTEM, THE INFLATION RESERVOIR WILL IMMEDIATELY OPERATE. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(a) Make sure that the release mechanism at the related emergency exit door is disarmed. (3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE is in position at the related emergency exit door.
(4) Make sure that the related emergency exit door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-010-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-010-002).
(5) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position on the related emergency exit door to tell persons not to close the door.
(6) Make sure that the special precaution on the door damper and the emergency operation cylinder is made (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-860-003).
(7) Make sure that you obeyed the special precautions before you work on the escape slide system(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-00-481-001).
(8) Make sure that the door frame linings are removed from the emergency exit door (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-000-010).
(9) Make sure that the 98D52207552000 PIN-RIGGING - SLIDE RELEASE MECHANISM (38) is installed in the related rigging hole of the lever assembly (40).
(10) Make sure that the 98D52207553000 PIN-RIGGING - SLIDE RELEASE MECHANISM (45) is installed in the related rigging hole of the release lever (46).
(11) Make sure that the insulation blankets in the related work area are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-000-001).

(6) Make sure that the special precaution on the door damper and the emergency operation cylinder is made (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-860-003).
(7) Make sure that you obeyed the special precautions before you work on the escape slide system(s) (Ref. AMM D/O 25-62-00-48).
(8) Make sure that you removed the door frame linings that follow:
(10) Make sure that the 98D52207553000 PIN-RIGGING - SLIDE RELEASE MECHANISM (44) is installed in the related rigging hole of the release lever (43).
(11) Make sure that the insulation blankets are removed from the work area (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-000-001).
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU TURN THE RELEASE LEVER BACK TO THE DISARMED POSITION.
IF YOU DO NOT, THE ESCAPE-SLIDE RELEASE SYSTEM STAYS ON. IF YOU THEN CONNECT AN INFLATION RESERVOIR TO THE SYSTEM, THE INFLATION RESERVOIR WILL IMMEDIATELY OPERATE. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) (3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE is in position at the applicable emergency exit door(s).(4) Make sure that the emergency exit door(s) is (are) open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-010-001), or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-010-002).
(5) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position on the emergency exit door(s) to tell persons not to close the door(s).
(6) Make sure that the special precaution on the door damper and the emergency operation cylinder is made (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-860-003).
(7) Make sure that you obeyed the special precautions before you work on the escape slide system(s) (Ref. AMM D/O 25-62-00-48).
(8) Make sure that you removed the door frame linings that follow:
- The left forward emergency-exit-door from zone 231 (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-000-004)
- The right forward emergency-exit-door from zone 232 (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-000-009)
- The left aft emergency-exit-door from zone 251 (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-000-010)
- The right aft emergency-exit-door from zone 252 (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-000-010).
(10) Make sure that the 98D52207553000 PIN-RIGGING - SLIDE RELEASE MECHANISM (44) is installed in the related rigging hole of the release lever (43).
(11) Make sure that the insulation blankets are removed from the work area (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-000-001).
Subtask 25-62-48-210-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) , a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
Subtask 25-62-48-420-051-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) , a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.

B. Installation of the Emergency Escape-Slide Release-Mechanism Assembly (1) Apply special material on the threads of all screws:
WARNING:
YOU MUST ALWAYS WEAR RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO THIS PROCEDURE.
(a) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) on the threads of all screws, you use for the installation of the emergency escape-slide release-mechanism assembly. (2) Install the bearing-assembly:
WARNING:
YOU MUST ALWAYS WEAR RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO THIS PROCEDURE.
(a) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) on the mating surface of the bearing-assembly (6). (b) Put the bearing-assembly (6) in position and install the washers (5) and the screws (4).
(3) Install the override clutch:
NOTE: There are punch marks located on the override clutch (14), on the shaft (16) and on the lever (28) to make the installation procedure easier.
(a) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the shaft (16). (b) Push the shaft (16) a short distance through the door-frame structure.
(c) Hold the override clutch (14) in position and align the punch marks on the shaft (16) and the override clutch (14).
(d) Carefully push the shaft (16) through the opening of the override clutch (14) until you can see it at the other side of the opening.
(e) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the inside-surface of the sleeve (8).
(f) Hold the sleeve (8) in position and carefully continue to push the shaft (16) through the sleeve (8) in the bearing-assembly (6).
(g) Adjust the gap between the shaft (16) and the bearing-assembly (6) (see detail E):
1 Put the bearing-assembly (18) in position and install the washers (21) and (24), and the screws (22) and (25).
NOTE: This step is neccessary to hold the shaft (16) in position.
2 Measure the distance between the shaft (16) and the bearing-assembly (6) with a GAGE - FEELER. 3 Make sure that the gap is not less than 0.1 mm (0.0039 in.), or more than 0.6 mm (0.0236 in.).
4 If the distance between the shaft (16) and the bearing-assembly (6) is not in this tolerance, you must adjust the gap with the washer(s) (7):
washer AN960C616,
and/or
washer AN960C616L,
and/or
washer AN960C616LL.
5 Remove the screws (22) and (25), the washers (21) and (24), and the bearing-assembly (18).
6 Carefully pull the shaft (16) out of the bearing-assembly (6) until you can install the washers (7) on the shaft (16).
7 Carefully push the shaft (16) back in the bearing-assembly (6).
(h) Put the spring element (17) in the bearing-assembly (18).
(i) Install the bearing assembly:
WARNING:
YOU MUST ALWAYS WEAR RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO THIS PROCEDURE.
1 Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) on the mating surface of the bearing-assembly (18). 2 Put the bearing-assembly (18) in position and install the washers (21) and (24), and the screws (22) and (25).
(j) Install the stop-screw (23).
(k) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the inside-surface of the sleeve (26).
(l) Install the sleeve (26) and hold the lever (28) in position.
(m) Hold the override clutch (14) in position and align the punch marks on the lever (28) and the shaft (16).
(n) Install the lever (28), the washer (29) and the dome nut (30).
(o) Install the 98D52207551000 PIN-SAFETY - SLIDE RELEASE LEVER (27) in the related rigging hole of the lever (28).
(4) Install the release-mechanism rod-assembly (46) (refer to as the rod assembly):
(a) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the pin (40).
(b) Put the eye-end of the rod assembly (46) in position at the release lever (43).
(c) Install the pin (40), the washer (41) and the new cotter pin-corrosion resistant steel MS24665-151 (42).
(d) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the pin (48).
(e) Put the other eye-end of the rod assembly (46) in position at the lever assembly (54).
(f) Install the pin (48) the washer (49), and the new cotter pin-corrosion resistant steel MS24665-151 (50).
NOTE: If you cannot install the pin (48) easily, adjust the rod assembly (46).
(g) Adjust the rod assembly: 1 Cut, remove and discard the lock-wire from the lock-nuts (45) and (47) on the rod assembly (46).
2 Loosen the lock-nuts (45) and (47).
3 Turn the eye-ends IN or OUT to adjust the rod assembly (46) until you can easily install the pin (48).
4 Tighten the lock-nuts (45) and (47).
5 Safety the lock-nuts (45) and (47) with
6 Make sure that the eye-ends of the rod assembly (46) are in safety.
(5) Install the release-mechanism control-cable assembly (9) (refer to as the control cable):
(a) Put the control cable (9) in position in the slots of the brackets (3) and tighten the lock-nuts (1) and (2) by hand.
(b) Put the clamps (62) with the control cable (9) in position and install the screws (61), the washers (60) and the nuts (59).
(c) Do not tighten the nuts (59) at this time.
(d) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the pin (11).
(e) Put the eye-end of the control cable (9) together with the washers (10) in position at the override clutch (14) and install the pin (11).
(f) Install the washer (12) and the new cotter pin-corrosion resistant steel MS24665-151 (13).
(g) Loosen the hand tight lock-nuts (1) and (2)
(h) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the pin (51).
(i) Put the other eye-end of the control cable (9) together with the washers (56) in position at the lever assembly (54) and install the pin (51).
(j) Install the washer (52) and the new cotter pin-corrosion resistant steel MS24665-151 (53).
(k) Allign the clamps (62) and tighten the nuts (59).
(l) Make sure that the control cable (9) is correctly installed in the brackets (3) and tighten the lock-nuts (1) and (2).
(m) Adjust the control-cable:
1 Cut, remove and discard the lock-wire from the lock-nuts (57) and the adjusting-nut (58) on the control cable (9).
2 Loosen the lock-nuts (57).
3 Remove the SAFETY PIN - SLIDE RELEASE LEVER (27) from the related hole of the lever (28).
4 Turn the adjusting-nut (58) until the lever (28) touches the stop-screw (23).
5 Turn the adjusting-nut (58) THREE FULL TURNS in the opposite direction to make a gap between the lever (28) and the lock-nut (23).
6 Tighten the lock-nuts (57) on the control cable (9).
7 Safety the lock-nuts (57) and the adjusting-nut (58) with
8 Slowly turn the lever (28) and make sure that the spring plunger of the spring element (17) engages in its position in the lever (28).
(n) Safety the lock-nuts (1) and (2) with
B. Installation of the Emergency-Escape-Slide Release-Mechanism Assembly
(1) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) on the threads of all screws, you use for the installation of the emergency-escape-slide release-mechanism assembly.
(2) Install the bearing-assembly:
(a) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) on the mating surface of the bearing-assembly (4).
(b) Put the bearing-assembly (4) in position and install the washers (5) and the screws (6).
(c) Tighten the screws (6).
(3) Install the override clutch:
(b) Push the shaft (7) a short distance through the door-frame structure.
(c) Hold the override clutch (25) in position and align the punch marks on the shaft (7) and the override clutch (25).
(d) Carefully push the shaft (7) through the opening of the override clutch (25) until you can see it at the other side of the opening.
(e) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the inside-surface of the sleeve (20).
(f) Hold the sleeve (20) in position and carefully continue to push the shaft (7) through the sleeve (20) in the bearing-assembly (4).
(g) Adjust the gap between the shaft (7) and the bearing-assembly (4) (see detail E):
1 Put the bearing-assembly (9) in position.
2 Install the washers (10) and (24) and the screws (11) and (17).
4 Make sure that the clearance is between 0.1 mm (0.00 in.) and 0.6 mm (0.02 in.).
5 If the clearance between the shaft (7) and the bearing-assembly (4) is not in this range, adjust the clearance with washers (3).
6 Remove the screws (11) and (17), the washers (10) and (24) and the bearing-assembly (9).
7 Carefully pull the shaft (7) out of the bearing-assembly (4) until you can install the washer(s) (3) on the shaft (7).
8 Carefully push the shaft (7) back in the bearing-assembly (4).
(h) Put the spring element (8) in the bearing-assembly (9).
(i) Install the bearing-assembly:
1 Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) on the mating surface of the bearing-assembly (9).
2 Put the bearing-assembly (9) in position and install the washer (24), the screw (17) and the stop-screw (22).
3 Do not tighten the screws at this moment.
4 Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the inside-surface of the sleeve (12).
5 Put the bracket (23) in position and install the sleeve (12) on the shaft (7).
6 Install the washer (10) and the screw (11).
7 Tighten the screws (11) and (17) and the stop-screw (22).
(j) Hold the lever (14) in position.
(k) Hold the override clutch (25) in position and align the punch marks on the lever (14) and the shaft (7).
(l) Install the lever (14), the washer (15) and the castellated nut (16).
(m) Install the 98D52207551000 PIN-SAFETY - SLIDE RELEASE LEVER (13) in the related rigging hole of the lever (14).
(4) Install the release-mechanism rod assembly (30) (referred to as the rod assembly):
(a) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the pin (28).
(b) Put the eye-end of the rod assembly (30) in position at the release lever (46).
(c) Install the pin (28), the washer (44) and the new cotter pin-corrosion resistant steel MS24665-151 (43).
(d) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the pin (32).
(e) Put the other eye-end of the rod assembly (30) in position at the lever assembly (40).
(f) Install the pin (32), the washer (41) and the new cotter pin-corrosion resistant steel MS24665-151 (42).
(g) Adjust the rod assembly (30) as necessary:
2 Loosen the lock-nuts (29) and (31).
3 Turn the eye-ends in or out to adjust the rod assembly (30) until you can easily install the pin (32).
4 Tighten the lock-nuts (29) and (31).
5 Safety the lock-nuts (29) and (31) with14QFB1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy - (Ref. AMM TASK 20-11-11-911-001).
6 Make sure that the eye-ends of the rod assembly (30) are safetied.
(5) Install the release-mechanism control-cable assembly (19) (referred to as the control cable):
(a) Put the control cable (19) in position in the slots of the brackets (1) and tighten the lock-nuts (51) by hand.
(b) Put the clamps (49) with the control cable (19) in position and install the screws (48), the washers (47) and the nuts (50).
(c) Do not tighten the nuts (50) at this time.
(d) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the pin (21).
(e) Put the eye-end of the control cable (19) with the washers (2) and (18) in position at the override clutch (25) and install the pin (21).
(f) Install the washer (27) and the new cotter pin-corrosion resistant steel MS24665-151 (26).
(g) Loosen the hand tight lock-nuts (51).
(h) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the pin (39).
(i) Put the other eye-end of the control cable (19) with the washers (35) in position at the lever assembly (40) and install the pin (39).
(j) Install the washer (34) and the new cotter pin-corrosion resistant steel MS24665-151 (33).
(k) Align the clamps (49) and tighten the nuts (50).
(l) Make sure that the control cable (19) is correctly installed in the brackets (1) and tighten the lock-nuts (51).
(m) Adjust the control-cable:
2 Loosen the lock-nuts (36).
3 Remove the 98D52207551000 PIN-SAFETY - SLIDE RELEASE LEVER (13) from the related hole of the lever (14).
4 Turn the adjusting-nut (37) until the lever (23) touches the stop-screw (22).
5 Turn the adjusting-nut (37) three full turns in the opposite direction to make a clearance between the lever (14) and the stop-screw (22).
6 Tighten the lock-nuts (36) on the control cable (19).
7 Safety the lock-nuts (36) and the adjusting-nut (37) with14QFB1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy - (Ref. AMM TASK 20-11-11-911-001).
8 Slowly turn the lever (14) and make sure that the spring plunger of the spring element (8) engages in its position in the lever (14).

Subtask 25-62-48-820-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL Subtask 25-62-48-942-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) on the threads of all screws, you use for the installation of the emergency-escape-slide release-mechanism assembly.
(2) Install the bearing-assembly:
(a) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) on the mating surface of the bearing-assembly (4).
(b) Put the bearing-assembly (4) in position and install the washers (5) and the screws (6).
(c) Tighten the screws (6).
(3) Install the override clutch:
NOTE: There are punch marks located on the override clutch (25), on the shaft (7) and on the lever (14) to make the installation procedure easier.
(a) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the shaft (7). (b) Push the shaft (7) a short distance through the door-frame structure.
(c) Hold the override clutch (25) in position and align the punch marks on the shaft (7) and the override clutch (25).
(d) Carefully push the shaft (7) through the opening of the override clutch (25) until you can see it at the other side of the opening.
(e) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the inside-surface of the sleeve (20).
(f) Hold the sleeve (20) in position and carefully continue to push the shaft (7) through the sleeve (20) in the bearing-assembly (4).
(g) Adjust the gap between the shaft (7) and the bearing-assembly (4) (see detail E):
1 Put the bearing-assembly (9) in position.
2 Install the washers (10) and (24) and the screws (11) and (17).
NOTE: This step is necessary to hold the shaft (7) in position.
3 Measure the clearance between the shaft (7) and the bearing-assembly (4) with a GAGE - FEELER. 4 Make sure that the clearance is between 0.1 mm (0.00 in.) and 0.6 mm (0.02 in.).
5 If the clearance between the shaft (7) and the bearing-assembly (4) is not in this range, adjust the clearance with washers (3).
6 Remove the screws (11) and (17), the washers (10) and (24) and the bearing-assembly (9).
7 Carefully pull the shaft (7) out of the bearing-assembly (4) until you can install the washer(s) (3) on the shaft (7).
8 Carefully push the shaft (7) back in the bearing-assembly (4).
(h) Put the spring element (8) in the bearing-assembly (9).
(i) Install the bearing-assembly:
1 Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) on the mating surface of the bearing-assembly (9).
2 Put the bearing-assembly (9) in position and install the washer (24), the screw (17) and the stop-screw (22).
3 Do not tighten the screws at this moment.
4 Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the inside-surface of the sleeve (12).
5 Put the bracket (23) in position and install the sleeve (12) on the shaft (7).
6 Install the washer (10) and the screw (11).
7 Tighten the screws (11) and (17) and the stop-screw (22).
(j) Hold the lever (14) in position.
(k) Hold the override clutch (25) in position and align the punch marks on the lever (14) and the shaft (7).
(l) Install the lever (14), the washer (15) and the castellated nut (16).
(m) Install the 98D52207551000 PIN-SAFETY - SLIDE RELEASE LEVER (13) in the related rigging hole of the lever (14).
(4) Install the release-mechanism rod assembly (30) (referred to as the rod assembly):
(a) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the pin (28).
(b) Put the eye-end of the rod assembly (30) in position at the release lever (46).
(c) Install the pin (28), the washer (44) and the new cotter pin-corrosion resistant steel MS24665-151 (43).
(d) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the pin (32).
(e) Put the other eye-end of the rod assembly (30) in position at the lever assembly (40).
(f) Install the pin (32), the washer (41) and the new cotter pin-corrosion resistant steel MS24665-151 (42).
(g) Adjust the rod assembly (30) as necessary:

(b) Put the clamps (49) with the control cable (19) in position and install the screws (48), the washers (47) and the nuts (50).
(c) Do not tighten the nuts (50) at this time.
(d) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the pin (21).
(e) Put the eye-end of the control cable (19) with the washers (2) and (18) in position at the override clutch (25) and install the pin (21).
(f) Install the washer (27) and the new cotter pin-corrosion resistant steel MS24665-151 (26).
(g) Loosen the hand tight lock-nuts (51).
(h) Apply Synthetic Ester base Grease-General Purpose Low Temp - (Material No.03HBD9) on the pin (39).
(i) Put the other eye-end of the control cable (19) with the washers (35) in position at the lever assembly (40) and install the pin (39).
(j) Install the washer (34) and the new cotter pin-corrosion resistant steel MS24665-151 (33).
(k) Align the clamps (49) and tighten the nuts (50).
(l) Make sure that the control cable (19) is correctly installed in the brackets (1) and tighten the lock-nuts (51).
(m) Adjust the control-cable:

(5) Install the door frame linings at the emergency exit door (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-400-010).
(6) Do the special precautions on the door damper and the emergency operation cylinder (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-860-004).
(7) Remove the 98D52207551000 PIN-SAFETY - SLIDE RELEASE LEVER (13) from the related rigging hole of the lever (14).
(8) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(9) Close the emergency exit door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-002).
(10) Remove the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE from the applicable emergency exit door.

(8) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(9) Close the emergency exit door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-002).
(10) Remove the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE from the applicable emergency exit door.
A. Close Access
(1) Remove the rigging pin (55) from the related rigging hole of the lever assembly (54).
(2) Remove the rigging pin (44) from the related rigging hole of the release lever (43).
(3) Do the special precautions after you worked on the escape slide system(s) (Ref. AMM D/O 25-62-00-08).
(4) Install the insulation blankets (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-400-001).
(5) Install the door frame linings that follow:
(7) Remove the safety pin (27) from the related rigging hole of the lever (28).
(8) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(9) Close the emergency exit door(s) in the passenger compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-001) or from the outside of the aircraft (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-002).
(10) Remove the access platform from the applicable emergency exit door(s).
Subtask 25-62-48-862-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the rigging pin (55) from the related rigging hole of the lever assembly (54).
(2) Remove the rigging pin (44) from the related rigging hole of the release lever (43).
(3) Do the special precautions after you worked on the escape slide system(s) (Ref. AMM D/O 25-62-00-08).
(4) Install the insulation blankets (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-400-001).
(5) Install the door frame linings that follow:
- The left forward emergency-exit-door in zone 231 (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-400-004)
- The right forward emergency-exit-door in zone 232 (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-400-009)
- The left aft emergency-exit-door in zone 251 (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-400-010)
- The right aft emergency-exit-door in zone 252 (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-47-400-010).
(7) Remove the safety pin (27) from the related rigging hole of the lever (28).
(8) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(9) Close the emergency exit door(s) in the passenger compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-001) or from the outside of the aircraft (Ref. AMM TASK 52-22-00-410-002).
(10) Remove the access platform from the applicable emergency exit door(s).
