Removal of the Insulation Blankets

A. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT) in position at the FWD passenger/crew door.
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at the FWD and/or AFT cargo compartment door(s).
(3) Open the appropriate access door.
(4) Remove the parts given subsequently only where necessary to remove the insulation blankets:
4. Procedure(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT) in position at the FWD passenger/crew door.
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at the FWD and/or AFT cargo compartment door(s).
(3) Open the appropriate access door.
(4) Remove the parts given subsequently only where necessary to remove the insulation blankets:
- the upper and lower sidewall panels (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-41-000-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-42-000-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-43-000-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-44-000-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-45-000-005) (Ref. AMM TASK 25-24-41-000-001),
- the cargo compartment linings
- the circuit breaker panels,
- the air conditioning ducts
- the electrical cable fasteners,
- the bonding straps,
- the screwed brackets.

A. Removal of the Insulation Blankets
(2) Record the position of the insulation blanket(s) or the insulation foam sheet(s) for the installation procedure.
(3) Remove the frame insulation blanket(s):
(a) Remove the brackets (2), the washers (5) and the studs (6).
(b) Remove the insulation blanket(s) (1).
(4) Remove the skin insulation (blanket(s) or foam sheet(s)):
(a) Remove the washers (5) from the studs (4) and/or the supports (7).
(b) Remove the insulation (3).
Subtask 25-80-00-020-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
YOU MUST ALWAYS WEAR RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO THIS PROCEDURE.
(1) If you remove a damaged insulation blanket, put on the GOGGLES - PROTECTIVE, the GLOVES - RUBBER and use the correct PROTECTIVE BREATHING EQUIPMENT. (2) Record the position of the insulation blanket(s) or the insulation foam sheet(s) for the installation procedure.
(3) Remove the frame insulation blanket(s):
(a) Remove the brackets (2), the washers (5) and the studs (6).
(b) Remove the insulation blanket(s) (1).
(4) Remove the skin insulation (blanket(s) or foam sheet(s)):
(a) Remove the washers (5) from the studs (4) and/or the supports (7).
(b) Remove the insulation (3).

(2) Record the position of the insulation blanket(s) for the installation procedure.
(3) Remove the washers (4) and/or the brackets (2) from the frame insulation blanket(s) (1).
(4) Remove the frame insulation blanket(s) (1).
(5) Remove the washers (8) from the skin insulation blanket(s) (3).
(6) Remove the skin insulation blanket(s) (3).
(7) Do not remove the TERUL 18 foil (11) from the TERFLAME 29 film (9).
(8) Remove the studs (5) and (6) and/or the stringer clips (7) and the washers (12).
WARNING:
YOU MUST ALWAYS WEAR RUBBER GLOVES WHEN YOU DO THIS PROCEDURE.
(1) If you remove a damaged insulation blanket, put on the GOGGLES - PROTECTIVE, the GLOVES - RUBBER and use the correct PROTECTIVE BREATHING EQUIPMENT. (2) Record the position of the insulation blanket(s) for the installation procedure.
(3) Remove the washers (4) and/or the brackets (2) from the frame insulation blanket(s) (1).
(4) Remove the frame insulation blanket(s) (1).
(5) Remove the washers (8) from the skin insulation blanket(s) (3).
(6) Remove the skin insulation blanket(s) (3).
(7) Do not remove the TERUL 18 foil (11) from the TERFLAME 29 film (9).
(8) Remove the studs (5) and (6) and/or the stringer clips (7) and the washers (12).
