WARNING: BEFORE YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL THE OHSC, MAKE SURE THAT ALL THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE DISCONNECTED FROM THE OHSC. IF AN ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR IS CONNECTED, THERE IS A RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK TO THE PERSONNEL.

C. Get Access
   (1) Put a STEPLADDER 1.0 M (3.3 FT) adjacent to the stowage compartment you will remove.
   (2) Make sure that the stowage compartment is empty.
   (3) Remove the ceiling panels adjacent to the stowage compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-41-000-001).
   (4) Remove the cove light panels adjacent to the stowage compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 25-23-48-000-001).
   (5) If necessary, remove the related cabin lights. Refer to (Ref. AMM D/O 33-21-00-00) to know which cabin lights are installed.
   (6) Remove the filler panels (Ref. AMM TASK 25-25-11-000-001).
   (7) Remove the emergency oxygen container (Ref. AMM TASK 35-21-41-000-001).
   (8) If installed, remove the movable class-divider rail (Ref. AMM TASK 25-26-43-000-012).
   (9) If installed, remove the video control center (Ref. AMM TASK 23-36-11-000-001).
Subtask 25-24-41-010-051-B
D. Remove the Passenger Service Equipment.
   (1) Remove the passenger service/information unit (Ref. AMM TASK 23-73-45-000-001).
   (2) Remove the passenger reading light-panel (Ref. AMM TASK 23-73-64-000-001).
   (3) Remove the individual air-outlet panel (Ref. AMM TASK 21-24-19-000-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 25-24-41-020-061-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the adhesive tape
F Application of Adhesive Tape ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Remove the tape (1) and the tape (2).
Subtask 25-24-41-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Removal of the 2,3 and 4-Frame Stowage Compartments
   (1) Remove the lower attachments.
     (a) Disengage the panel (2) from the attachment rail (1), pull it down and remove it.
     (b) Remove the screw (46), the washer (47), the nut (48) and disconnect the bonding strap (6).
     (c) If necessary remove the clamps (3) and disconnect the hoses (4).
     (d) Remove the nuts (32), the washers (31), (30) and the screws (29).
     (e) Remove the lock-pins (20), the washers (19) and the pins (18) and (21).
     (f) Remove the nuts (40), the washers (38), (39), (43) and the screws (37), (41) and (42).
   (2) Remove the upper attachments.
     (a) Open the stowage compartment doors (5) for access.
     (b) Remove the split-rings (9), the washers (8) (Ref. Detail "A" and "B").
     (c) Remove the nuts (27) the washers (25) and (26) (Ref. Detail "H"and "J").
     (d) Record the position and the number of the washers (28) for the installation procedure.
     (e) Support the stowage compartment and remove the pins (7) and (10) (Ref. Detail "A" and "B") or remove the screws (24), (36) and the washers (25), (26) and (28) (Ref. Detail "H" and "J")
     (f) Remove the stowage compartment.
NOTE: The cabin temperature sensor casing (3) is installed between two overhead stowage compartments (1) and (2). If you must remove one or both of these overhead stowage compartments (1) and/or (2), do these steps:
     (g) Loosen the clamp (5).
     (h) Remove the hose (6) from the cabin temperature sensor (4) outlet pipe.
     (i) Remove the screws (7), and remove the screen (8) from between the overhead stowage compartments (1) and (2).
NOTE: The cabin temperature sensor casing (3) stays attached to its overhead stowage compartment (2).

C. Removal of the 1-Frame Stowage Compartments/Spacer Bins
   (1) Remove the nuts (54), the washers (53), (52) and the screws (51).
   (2) Remove the pin-locks (20), the washers (19) and the pins (18).
   (3) Remove the nut (48), the washer (47), the screw (46) and disconnect the bonding strap (6).
   (4) Remove the screws (44) and the washers (45).
   (5) Remove the split-ring (9) and the washer (8) (Ref. Detail "B").
   (6) Remove the nuts (27) and the washers (25) and (26) (Ref. Detail "A" and "G").
   (7) Record the position and the number of the washers (28) for the installation procedure.
   (8) Support the stowage/spacer bin and remove the pin (7) (Ref. Detail "B") and/or the bolts (24), (36) and the washers (25), (26) and (28) (Ref. Detail "A" and "G").
   (9) Remove the stowage/spacer bin.
Subtask 25-24-41-020-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
D. Removal of the 2, 3 and 4-Frame Stowage Compartments
   (1) Remove the lower attachments.
     (a) Disengage the panel (2) from the attachment rail (1), pull it down and remove it.
     (b) Remove the screw (23), the nut (26), the washer (25) and disconnect the bonding strap (24).
     (c) If necessary remove the clamps (3) and disconnect the hoses (4).
     (d) Put PLUG - BLANKING on the disconnected hoses (4).
     (e) Remove the screws (10), the washers (11) and the brackets (12) (Ref. Detail "C").
     (f) Remove the lock-pins (16), the washers (15), and the pins (13) (Ref. Detail "D", "E", "F", "G", "H", "J").
     (g) Open and remove the clip (21) (Ref. Detail "E", "F", "H").
     (h) Remove the screws (19), the washers (18), and the brackets (17), (20) and (34) (Ref. Detail "F", "G" and "H").
   (2) Remove the upper attachments.
     (a) Open the stowage compartment doors (5) for access.
     (b) Remove the split-rings (8), the washers (7) (Ref. Detail "A"), the split-rings (8) (Ref. Detail "B") and/or the nut (27), the washers (28) and (29) (Ref. Detail "L").
     (c) Record the position and the number of the washers (31) for the installation procedure.
     (d) Hold the stowage compartment and remove the pins (6) and (9) (Ref. Detail "A" and "B") and/or remove the screw (33), the washers (30), (31) and (32) (Ref. Detail "L")
     (e) Remove the stowage compartment.
NOTE: The cabin temperature sensor casing (3) is installed between two overhead stowage compartments (1) and (2). If you must remove one or two of these overhead stowage compartments (1) and/or (2), do these steps:
     (f) Loosen the clamp (5).
     (g) Remove the hose (6) from the cabin temperature sensor (4) outlet pipe.
     (h) Put PLUG - BLANKING on the disconnected hose (6).
     (i) Remove the screws (7), and remove the screen (8) from between the overhead stowage compartments (1) and (2).
NOTE: The cabin temperature sensor casing (3) stays attached to its overhead stowage compartment (2).
Subtask 25-24-41-020-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
E. Removal of the 1-Frame Stowage Compartments/Spacer Bins
   (1) Remove the lock-pins (14), the washers (15) and the pins (17).
   (2) Remove the screws (8), the washers (9) and the bracket (10).
   (3) Remove the screws (13), the washers (12) and the bracket (11).
   (4) Remove the nut (24), the washer (23), the screw (21) and disconnect the bonding strap (22).
   (5) Remove the split-ring (18) and the washer (19) and/or the nut (1) and the washers (2) and (3).
   (6) Record the position and the number of the washers (5) for the installation procedure.
   (7) Hold the stowage/spacer bin and remove the pin (20) and/or the washers (4), (5) and (6) and the bolt (7).
   (8) Remove the stowage/spacer bin.
Subtask 25-24-41-020-050-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
F. Removal of the 2, 3 and 4-Frame Stowage Compartments
   (1) Make match marks on the components that you disconnect/remove to record their connections/positions. This is important for the subsequent installation procedure.
   (2) Disengage the cover (2) from the stowage compartment (1), pull it down and remove it.
   (3) If installed, disconnect the electrical connectors (31).
   (4) Disconnect the electrical connectors (30).
   (5) Put a CAP - BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector.
   (6) Cut, remove and discard the cable ties (28) and release the cables (29).
   (7) Release the clamps (27) and disconnect the hoses (26).
   (8) Put a PLUG - BLANKING on each disconnected hose.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR(S) IS(ARE) DISCONNECTED BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT THE BONDING STRAP(S).
   (9) Remove the nuts (18), the washers (19), the bonding straps (20) and the screws (17).
   (10) Open the doors (3).
   (11) Disconnect the related cabin temperature sensor:
     (a) Loosen the clamp (5).
     (b) Remove the hose (6) from the cabin temperature sensor (4).
     (c) Put a PLUG - BLANKING on each disconnected hose.
     (d) Remove the screws (7) and the cover (8) from the overhead stowage compartments (1) and (2).
NOTE: The cabin temperature-sensor casing (3) stays attached to its stowage compartment.
   (12) Remove the nuts (8) and the washers (9).
   (13) Remove the split-rings (5) and the washers (4).
   (14) Hold the stowage compartment (1) and remove the pins (6) and (7).
   (15) If applicable, remove the nut (25), the screw (22), the washer (21), the shims (23) and the spacers (24).
   (16) Close the doors (3).
   (17) Remove the lock-pins (14), the washers (13), and the pins (12) from the tie rods (11).
   (18) Disengage and remove the clips (15) to release the stowage compartment (1) from the tie rods (16).
WARNING: SUPPORT THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY. THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY IS HEAVY. IF YOU DO NOT SUPPORT IT, IT WILL FALL. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS, AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (19) Carefully remove the the stowage compartment (1)
Subtask 25-24-41-020-051-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
G. Removal of the 1-Frame Stowage Compartments
   (1) Make match marks on the components that you disconnect/remove to record their connections/positions. This is important for the subsequent installation procedure.
   (2) Disengage the cover (2) from the stowage compartment (1), pull it down and remove it.
   (3) If a handrail light is installed:
     (a) Disconnect the electrical connector (26).
     (b) Put a CAP - BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector.
     (c) Release the cable (25).
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR(S) IS(ARE) DISCONNECTED BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT THE BONDING STRAP(S).
   (4) Remove the nuts (18), the washers (19), the bonding straps (20) and the screws (17).
   (5) Remove the nuts (14) and the washers (13).
   (6) Remove the nuts (15) and the washers (16).
   (7) Open the doors (3).
   (8) Remove the split-rings (10) and the washers (9).
   (9) Hold the stowage compartment (1) and remove the pins (11).
   (10) If applicable, remove the nut (8), the screw (5), the washer (4), the shims (6) and the spacers (7).
   (11) Close the doors (3).
   (12) Remove the lock-pins (24), the washers (23) and the pins (21) from the tie rods (22).

   (13) Carefully remove the stowage compartment (1)
Subtask 25-24-41-020-050-F ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
H. Removal of the 2, 3 and 4-Frame XL OHSC
WARNING: SUPPORT THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY. THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY IS HEAVY. IF YOU DO NOT SUPPORT IT, IT WILL FALL. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS, AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Make match marks on the components that you disconnect/remove to record their connections/positions. This is important for the subsequent installation procedure.
   (2) Open the stowage compartment doors (1).
   (3) Loosen the screw (22), open the flap (23) and disconnect the electrical connector (27).
   (4) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
   (5) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR(S) IS(ARE) DISCONNECTED BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT THE BONDING STRAP(S).
   (6) Remove the nut (21), the washers (19) and the screw (18) to disconnect the bonding strap (20) from the stowage compartment (2).
   (7) Disconnect the air outlet:
     (a) Release the clamp (40) and disconnect the hose (41) from the hose (39).
     (b) Put the PLUG - BLANKING on each disconnected hose.
   (8) If applicable, disconnect the related cabin temperature sensor:
F Cabin Temperature Sensor ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
     (a) Release the clamp (2) and disconnect the hose (3) from the temperature sensor (1).
     (b) Put the PLUG - BLANKING on each disconnected hose.
   (9) Remove the screws (24) from the brackets (26) and turn the brackets (26) with the adjustment screws (25) on both sides of the stowage compartment (2).
   (10) Remove the lock pin (6), the washer (5) and the pin (4) and release the tie rod (3).
   (11) Remove the nuts (14), the washers (13) from the bolts (11) and release the bracket (17) of the stowage compartment (2).
   (12) Remove the lock pin (12) and the pin (16) from the bracket (17) and release the tie rod (15).
   (13) Remove the nuts (32) and the washers (31) from the bolts (28) and release the bracket (30) from the stowage compartment (2).
   (14) Remove the lock pin (34) and the pin (29) and release the tie rod (33) from the bracket (30).
   (15) Remove the split-rings (9) and (35) and the washers (8) and (36).
   (16) Remove the nut (42), washers (43) and (44), bolt (47) and washers (46), (43) and (44) from the stowage compartment (2) and the bracket (45). Record the location and numbers of the washers.
   (17) Hold the stowage compartment (2) and remove the pins (10) and (37) from the brackets (7) and (38).
   (18) Carefully remove the stowage compartment (2).
   (19) Close the stowage compartment doors (1).
Subtask 25-24-41-020-051-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
I. Removal of the 1-Frame XL OHSC
F 1-Frame XL Stowage Compartments ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
WARNING: SUPPORT THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY. THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY IS HEAVY. IF YOU DO NOT SUPPORT IT, IT WILL FALL. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS, AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Make match marks on the components that you disconnect/remove to record their connections/positions. This is important for the subsequent installation procedure.
   (2) Open the stowage compartment door (2).
   (3) Loosen the screw (44) and open the flap (45).
   (4) Disconnect the electrical connector (46).
   (5) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
   (6) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR(S) IS(ARE) DISCONNECTED BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT THE BONDING STRAP(S).
   (7) Remove the nut (40), the washers (38) and the screw (37) to disconnect the bonding straps (39) from the stowage compartment (1).
   (8) Remove the screws (41) and turn the bracket (43) with the adjustment screw (42) on both sides of the stowage compartment (1).
   (9) Remove the nuts (6), the washers (5) from the bolts (3) and release the bracket (4) of the stowage compartment (1).
   (10) Remove the lock pin (9) and the pin (7) from the bracket (4) to release the tie rod (8).
   (11) Remove the lock pin (10) and the pin (12) to release the tie rod (11) from the stowage compartment (1).
   (12) Remove the nuts (25), the washers (24) from the bolts (23) to release the bracket (29) from the stowage compartment (1).
   (13) Remove the lock pin (26), the pin (28) from the bracket (29) to release the tie rod (27).
   (14) Remove the screws (30), the washers (31) and the bearings (32) from the stowage compartment (1).
   (15) Remove the nut (17), washers (18) and (19), bolt (22) and washers (19), (18) and (21) from the stowage compartment (1) and the bracket (20). Record the location and number of washers.
   (16) Remove the split-rings (33), the washer (34) and the pin (35) to release the stowage compartment (1) from the bracket (36).
   (17) Remove the split-rings (16) and the washers (15).
   (18) Hold the stowage compartment (1) and remove the pins (13) to release the stowage compartment (1) from the brackets (14).
   (19) Carefully remove the stowage compartment (1).
   (20) Close the stowage compartment door (2).

J. Removal of the Spacer Bin FR38/ FR39

   (1) Remove the nuts (32), the washers (31) and (30) and the screws (29).
   (2) Remove the pin-locks (20), the washers (19) and the pins (18).
   (3) Remove the nuts (50), the washers (49), (23) and the screws (22).
   (4) Remove the nut (48), the washer (47), the screw (46) and disconnect the bonding strap (6).
   (5) Remove the nut (27), the split-ring (9) and the washers (8) and (28).
   (6) Record the position and the number of the washers (26) and (28) for the installation procedure .
   (7) Support the spacer bin and remove the pin (7), the screw (24), the washers (25), (26), (28) and the spacer bin.

J. Removal of the Spacer Bin

   (1) Remove the screws (2), the washers (1) and the bracket (3).
   (2) Remove the lock-pin (5), the washer (6) and the pin (8).
   (3) Remove the screws (9), the washers (10) and the bracket (4).
   (4) Remove the nut (14), the washer (15), the screw (17) and disconnect the bonding strap (16).
   (5) Remove the split-ring (11) and the washer (12).
   (6) Remove the split-ring (11).
   (7) Hold the spacer bin and remove the pin (13) and the spacer bin.
