A. Installation of the Insulation Blankets
(1) Install the skin insulation (blanket(s) or foam sheet(s)):
(2) Install the frame insulation:
(a) Put the insulation blanket(s) (1) in position as recorded in the removal procedure and install the studs (6) and the washers (5).
(b) Make sure that the clearance between the attachment studs (6) and the adjacent electrical harness is a minimum of 10.0 mm (0.3937 in.).
(c) If the clearance is less than 10.0 mm (0.3937 in.), cut the studs to the correct length.
(d) Install the brackets (2) at the applicable positions ESPM 2033410.
Subtask 25-80-00-420-050-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Install the skin insulation (blanket(s) or foam sheet(s)):
NOTE: Make an overlap with the insulation blankets to prevent the flow of condensed moisture to the outer skin.
(a) Put the insulation (3) in position on the studs (4) and/or the supports (7) as identified in the removal procedure and install the washers (5).
A. Installation of the Insulation Blankets
(4) Put the skin insulation blanket(s) (3) in position on the studs (6) and/or the stringer clips (7) as identified during the removal procedure.
(5) Install the washers (8).
(6) Put the frame insulation blanket(s) (1) in position on the studs (5) as identified during the removal procedure.
(7) Install the washers (4) and/or the brackets (2).
(8) Adjust the clearance between the studs and the adjacent electrical harness:
(a) Do not do the subsequent steps below the stringer 19 level.
(b) Make sure that the clearance between the studs (5) and the adjacent electrical harness is a minimum of 10.0 mm (0.3937 in.).
(c) If the clearance is less than 10.0 mm (0.3937 in.), cut the studs (5) to the correct length.
5. Close-upNOTE: This section gives the installation procedure for the insulation blankets above and below the stringer 19 level.
(1) Above the stringer 19 level: - Use insulation blankets with TERUL 18 foil on its inboard and outboard side and standard attachments.
- Make an overlap with the skin insulation blankets to prevent the flow of condensed moisture to the outer skin.
- Use insulation blankets with fire-resistant TERFLAME 29 film (9) on its outboard side and attachments with titanium inlay. The TERUL 18 foil (10) must point inboard.
- Install the bottom insulation blankets between the top insulation blankets and the TERUL 18 foil (11).
