WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE LOCK PIN IS CORRECTLY INSTALLED IN THE REGULATOR VALVE ASSEMBLY OF THE INFLATION RESERVOIR. THIS SAFETIES ALL COMPONENTS OF THE INFLATION SYSTEM IN OPERATION AND PREVENTS ACCIDENTAL:
  • DISCHARGE OF THE INFLATION RESERVOIR
  • DEPLOYMENT OF THE ESCAPE SLIDE
WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE BARREL END OF THE AUTOMATIC INFLATION CABLE IS INSTALLED IN THE VALVE REGULATOR ASSEMBLY. THIS WILL PREVENT AN ACCIDENTAL INFLATION OF THE ESCAPE SLIDE.
C. Installation of the Lock Pin in the Inflation Reservoir
NOTE: The installation of the lock pin in the operation valve is necessary only during the maintenance work on the door.
   (1) Open the access door of the Overhead Stowage Compartment (OHSC) above the applicable door.
   (2) Carefully loosen the quick-release fasteners and remove the rear inner fairing from the applicable OHSC.
   (3) Prepare the inflation reservoir as follows:
     (a) Remove the lock pin from the stowage pocket of the inflation reservoir.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT YOU TURN THE REGULATOR ASSEMBLY IN A CLOCKWISE DIRECTION OR IN THE DIRECTION OF THE "SAFE" ARROW (IF IT IS AVAILABLE). WHEN YOU TURN THE REGULATOR ASSEMBLY IN THIS DIRECTION, THE VALVE CLOSES. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, YOU WILL START AN UNWANTED DEPLOYMENT SEQUENCE. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
     (b) Install the lock pin in the operation valve to prevent the accidental inflation of the escape slide.
NOTE: On programming and test panel 110RH, the "SLIDE PRESS LOW" indication comes into view.
     (c) If you cannot install the lock pin easily, adjust the regulator valve assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 25-62-00-820-002).
     (d) If you put the door in the ARMED position, disconnect the inflation reservoir from the release lever assembly as follows:
NOTE: The steps that follow are necessary to prevent an accidental operation of the inflation reservoir.
       1 Removal of the lockwire:
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
a Remove and discard the lockwire.
